"It's getting late, my mom is probably wondering where I am."

"*sigh* Oh, ok."

"Tulio, what's wrong?"

"I don't want to go back to my father." said Tulio, rubbing his arm with his hand while looking at the ground.

Miguel paused to think. He didn't want his friend to be abused, but he had promised not to tell anyone about Tulio's situation. He desperately wanted to help Tulio, but he didn't know how. Suddenly, he got an idea.

"Come with me! You can meet my mother and my sister! I'm sure my mom won't mind! Come on! Let's go!"

"You, you really think so?"

"Of course! This way you won't be abused!"

"Sush Miguel! I don't want anyone else to know!"

"Right, sorry." Whispered Miguel. "But you can still c-."

"I can't Miguel."

"What? But why?" said Miguel, visibly confused.

"My father will notice that i'm gone. When I go back he'll kill me! I'm, i'm scared of him!"

"Do you want to wake up to an abusive father or wake up in my house?"

Tulio stopped, he took a deep breath and let out a sigh. "I want to go with you, I really do, but, when I go back, he'll hurt me. What i-."

"Stop worrying about the future! Worrying won't help you!

"B-."

"I'll go with you tomorrow morning." Protested Miguel, not allowing Tulio's anxiety to win the fight.

"But he-."

"Tulio! I don't care if he hits me when I go with you. I'm going to help you get through this. So are you coming with me or not?"

Tulio sighed after tying his hair into a ponytail. "I'll go with you, but only for one night! My dad can't know that i'm at your house!."

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!"
