Stephanie's POV

I tossed and turned all night. My mind was literally going a mile a minute with the babies, the wedding I hadn't even started planning, and not to mention the whole living in the basement ordeal, oh and the fertility clinic calling.

As quietly as I could I got out of bed doing my best to wake Jimmy up and went into my studio space.

I did something I had it done in about 25 years. I took out a picture of mom and I talked to her.

"Hey momma. I miss you."

"This has been almost impossible without you here, but I have an amazing fiancé. You remember the Gibblers right? Jimmy grew up to be pretty amazing. We are going to be parents. I hope I can be the best Mom, I remember you were."

"You couldn't sleep either huh?" Jimmy said standing behind me flashing the most enduring smile.

I shook my head and ran my thumb along the frame of my picture. "What are you doing up?"

"Just thinking. And it was getting lonely and cold." Upon seeing my worry Jimmy softly began to rub circles on my back. "Hey, you ok?"

"Yeah. Do you want to see a picture of my mom?" I asked tapping the frame. "It's the only one I have left."

"Oh no. Did I interrupt you?" Jimmy asked.

"No, well yes, but I was telling her about you," I said with a big smile.

Upstairs Jimmy and I each had a cup of coffee and finally got some time to talk about everything without worrying about someone overhearing us.

"Jimmy, we've really got to start thinking about the wedding," I said.

"You know Kimmy offered to plan it. You can't go wrong with anything Gibbler style."

"Oh Babe, you weren't in Japan. And Kimmy is carrying our babies, I think she's done enough," I said neither of us seeing our visitor come down the stairs.

"Babies?" Fernando said.

I scrunched my eyes closed. Fernando was definitely not the person to accidentally spill the surprise to.

"Fernando? What are you doing here?" Jimmy asked.

"I felt an odd craving for some string cheese, and I don't have any at my place."

"Look, Fernando you can't tell anyone about what you just heard. We still need to figure some things out," I said walking over to him.

"I'll just take my cheese and go," he said as if he heard nothing.

Later in the morning, with about four hours of sleep, Jimmy and I climbed the stairs to come face to face with Max.

"Hey kid, what are you doing home?" I asked shutting the baby gate behind me out of habit.

"Um hello, Aunt Steph, it's Saturday and Mom said I get to hang out with you and Jimmy today," Max said tossing an orange into the air.

Jimmy and I looked at each other. There was no way we could take Max on all of our errands with us. After our coffee last night we made a whole list of things we needed to do.

Fertility Clinic

Business Shop (So Jimmy could open a proper photography studio)

Car Dealership ( We have just enough saved to at least start looking for a car)

Lunch Date

Um we'll see about that. "DJ! Get in here," I shouted. "Max, would you like to see where Jimmy and Kimmy grew up?" I suggested trying to think of anything to get him out of the house.

"Really?!" Max jumped up from his seat.

DJ came rushing into the room. "What's wrong?"

"Sure, why not. Jimmy honey, go show Max how the firepole works," I said handing him his phone so I could update him.

"Deej, Max said he gets to hang out with me today? I don't remember discussing this," I said trying to hide my nerves.

"Sure, I told you about it like three days ago," she said gathering up her lunch for the day.

"Well, Jimmy and I are super busy today with some..um grown up stuff," I said as Jimmy came back.

"Uh what kind of stuff are you going to be doing?" DJ asked looking between me and Jimmy.

I closed my eyes and caved. "We got a call from the fertility clinic last night and they want to talk to us at 11," I said grabbing hold of Jimmy's bicep.

"Oh no, is something wrong?" She asked.

"We don't know but, it isn't the best place for a nine year old to be."

"I can push my one appointment until noon, but I'll need you to come get Max so I can run Tommy to the doctor and register him for preschool."

"Fine," I said looking around for Max. "Hey hon, here's max?"

"He's playing in time-out. I'll go get him," Jimmy said leaving me alone as DJ got ready for the rest of the day.

Well I guess our lunch date would have to wait.

Twenty minutes later, Jimmy pulled up to the fertility clinic ten minutes early.

"Jimmy, I'm scared. What if they mixed something up?"

"I don't think they would Wait this long if something was wrong sweetie. Come on, let's go," he said holding out his hand.

I have no clue what I did to deserve Jimmy, but I wouldn't trade him for the world. Together we walked into the clinic, where the doctor waited for us.

"Stephanie, Jimmy. I'm glad you could come in," she said.

"Thank you for calling us," I said politely.

"Follow me this way."

Jimmy and I exchanged equally worried looks, and walked down the long narrow hallway. This could either be the best start to our weekend or the worst.
