Forgot to do the disclaimer! I do not own House of Anubis! Enjoy this absolutely adorable Fabina moment and review! Thank you guys so much! I had a lot of fun writing this little one-shot that I decided to make a short story.
Nina's P.O.V.
Patricia and Amber are officially the potential theatre stars of Anubis House. I could not stop laughing and clapping for them, they were just that good. And Amber told me I should get an agent. Movie material, right there!
"Nina, Fabian, you guys are next!" Amber bubbled as she sat down amid the applause, although Fabian had already tensed up. Like he knew before me that our group was performing next.
Before I could prepare myself with deep-breathing exercises, Fabian grabbed my hand and raced behind the curtain. Frantically, I searched for a small round table backstage, while Fabian looked for a vase with flowers on the prop shelf.
"Mr. Winkler," I whispered loudly before the theatre teacher could open the curtains, "a little help moving this table."
"Of course," he responded, racing over to grab the other end of the furniture.
Chairs. The scene needed chairs. I took the one Amber had been using, and Fabian snatched one near him. As Mr. Winkler was about to ask if we were ready, my partner stood up and whispered something in the teacher's ear. His lips curled up in a half smile and gave Fabian a thumbs-up. Supportive comment, maybe?
I didn't have too much time to think about it. We sat down just as the curtains were being lifted. Restaurant music began playing. Great, all we needed was to make this scene more romantic than it already is.
Confidently, Fabian took my hand. Not in the script.
"This place is amazing! How can you afford to bring us both here?" I asked, praying to stay on script. Unlike Fabian, who was clearly the master of improvising.
"It means a lot to bring you here. And this night is special, so I didn't mind making everything else about it special," he replied, staring deep into my eyes. My face immediately started to heat up. Darn hormones!
"What do you mean? It's not an anniversary, is it? Oh my gosh, did I forget? I didn't get you anything!" I babbled, hearing a few chuckles from my audience. At least some people thought that was funny.
Fabian laughed, smiling my way. "No, it's not an anniversary, Angela. Can't I just take my girlfriend to a fancy restaurant once in a while? Some women find that romantic."
We sat in silence, still managing to follow the script. Fabian wasn't nervous at all the way he had been during practice. Confident Fabian was a change, but shy Fabian is way cuter. Did I just think that?
"So, I've been thinking, Angela. About us," Fabian began, just like before. For a few second, I could have believed we were really on a date. The audience had been holding its breath, waiting for this moment.
"Yes?" I responded. Remember the script. Remember the script, Nina.
"I need to tell you how I feel. You know I like you, but just how much, you have no idea."
"Aw, no need to get flattering. I know I'm a catch," I said sarcastically, flipping my hair back. Nice little touch that I could actually get away with.
"Ever since I saw you, I realized that you were different. You had a smile that could've dimmed the sun. And now, I can't believe that I made it through life without you."
These words were touching me. It was almost as if he really meant them.
"I feel the same way, Sam. You touched my heart like no one else has. I feel like you were meant to be a part of my life."
Again, we lapsed into a peaceful silence. Obviously, someone was working the sound, because a new song came on the stereo, slow and sweet. Probably Mr. Winkler.
"That is such a beautiful song. My parents danced to it at their wedding," I recited dreamily.
We stood up, still managing to follow the script, and stood close together. Waiting for Fabian to ask me to dance, I stared at him. His sea blue eyes, his half-smile, his wind-swept hair. It was like a moment in paradise.
He wasn't saying his line. I started to panic, thinking maybe he forgot his line. His face was calm and not freaked out, so this must be confident Fabian on a roll.
He leaned down to kiss me with enough energy to light up the school as Mr. Winkler closed the curtains on us.
Who said the scene had to stop when the curtains fall? Exactly. No one. So, naturally, we didn't.
Well, wasn't that just adorable? :) If you want me to publish an epilogue, please say so in your reviews. I'm torn between making one or leaving it right there. What do you guys think?
