Saviour pt 7
A week after their late night discussion Magnus had asked Alec to drop everything and spend an entire day with him. Naturally, Alec said yes.
Magnus and Alec ditched school for the day and went, where else, shopping. Normally Alec hated shopping but on this particular day it didn't really bother him. He was ditching life and hanging out with the man of his dreams. Magnus dragged him through every designer store that was within a five mile radius of the school. By the time lunch rolled around Alec's feet were sore and he was getting worn out.
"Mags, can we stop shopping and get something to eat? My stomach's about ready to consume itself."
Magnus looked at him over a rack of leather pants. "Okay I guess," he sighed, as if Alec were dragging him away from the love of his life. He probably was. Magnus lived and breathed clothes...and glitter. Alec grabbed his hand and gently pulled him out of the shop. Magnus whimpered as they passed some very flamboyant shirts that were covered in glitter.
Alec chuckled and squeezed his hand. "They'll be there when we get back."
"But they're there now," he whined.
Alec stopped their advances toward the door and smiled at Magnus's pathetic state. "Okay. You have five minutes."
Magnus beamed at him and leaned over and kissed him. "Yay!" He pranced, yes pranced, over to the shirts and began shifting through them. Occasionally he'd stop and put one up against his chest and peer at himself in the mirror. He finally settled on two shirts. One was a light purple tank top and in the middle of the shirt said, in royal blue glitter, "Too Sexy For This Shirt". The other was a bright yellow tank top that had "strategic" rips all throughout. It had some sort of "Love, Peace, and Happiness" logo on it. All in all they were both very "Magnus".
Alec held back a laugh at Magnus's smile as he purchased the shirts. He held out his hand for Magnus once he was done and together they left and headed for Taki's.
When they got to their favourite restaurant they sat down at a booth in the back corner and looked at the menu. Not because they needed to actually browse but because they just liked to see what new stuff Taki's was cooking up. A waitress came and took their order and menus.
Once she had gone Magnus began running his foot up and down Alec's calf making him squirm. "Magnus, stop, you're tickling me," he hissed.
Magnus only chuckled and continued do it. "What's wrong baby? You seem a little antsy."
"Magnus, please stop," he whimpered quietly from across the booth.
Magnus chuckled, but his foot stopped. Alec sighed in relief. Magnus reached across the table and began playing with Alec's fingers instead. "How's this? Can I do this?"
Alec nodded and began playing with Magnus's fingers as well. "At least this doesn't tickle."
Magnus laughed out loud and nodded. "Yes. This doesn't make you blush though, so that makes me kind of sad."
Alec's cheeks reddened slightly at his boyfriend's words. "You're gorgeous when you blush," he continued. Alec's blush deepened and he looked down at the table in front of him. Magnus lifted his chin with their intertwined hands. "It's true. You're very beautiful Alexander."
Alec opened his mouth to say something but he was interrupted by the waitress with their food. Instead, he began to eat and avoided eye-contact until his blush had gone. Magnus just let him calm down and then once he had gained eye-contact again he began talking to him.
They didn't really talk about anything of importance, unless you want to consider Chairman Meow's tendency to steal Alec's shoes important (which Alec thought was very important, thank you very much). Magnus defended his cat saying that he just didn't want Alec to leave. "And frankly I don't want you to leave on most days."
Alec smiled sadly. "I wish I didn't have to, but I'm not eighteen yet so I have to live with my parents. In a few months I'll be able to move out."
"Move in with me?"
Alec saw that coming but the fact that Magnus had actually asked him surprised him. "You really want me to move in with you?"
"Yes. Please?"
Alec blinked a few times and nodded his head shyly. "Okay."
Magnus beamed and was about to say something when someone who wasn't their waitress came up to the table. "Xander? Is that you?"
Alec looked up from Magnus's beaming face to see Cory. Cory was his drug dealer and the leader of a gang near Manhattan. "Cory! Hi, yeah, it's me."
"Whoa dude, what happened to you? I heard you OD'd and had to go to rehab."
"Yeah. I did."
Cory's face showed a hint of pity. "Man that sucks."
Magnus eyed the tall, brown hair, blue eyed boy in front of him. He shot a warning look at Alec. "Don't," he mouthed.
"Yeah it did for a while there."
"So, what? You're clean now?"
Alec simply nodded and looked down at his and Magnus's fingers. Cory didn't seem to like that answer. He sighed and shifted on him feet. "Well if you're ever looking to hang again you know my number." With that he left them be.
Alec didn't look up at Magnus for a long time. "Please, don't say anything," he mumbled and fought off the tears that were threatening to escape. That was so much harder than he thought it'd be. Cory was easily one of his best friends.
"I'm proud of you Alexander. That took guts."
Alec looked up at Magnus and a tear slipped free. "That was so hard," his voice broke on the last word.
Magnus stood and walked around to the other side of the booth. He pulled Alec into an embrace and muttered words of encouragement into his ear. Alec was shaking and trying not to sob in front of everyone. That encounter had torn him up.
Magnus gently pulled Alec out to his car and together they went to Magnus's apartment. Once there Alec finally broke down. They didn't even make it to the couch before he was sobbing into Magnus's shirt. He clung to Magnus and Magnus supported him while he let go of all of that pent up emotion.
After he calmed down he took a step away from his boyfriend's embrace. "Sorry about that," he mumbled. "I just didn't expect that to be as hard as it was."
"It's okay Alec. I'm so proud of you for saying no. Or at least not saying anything." Magnus brushed away some stray tears and kissed Alec. "I love you more than anything."
"I love you too." Alec leaned into Magnus and wrapped his arms around his neck. "I'm sorry about your shirt."
"That's okay, I've got two new ones to replace it."
Alec chuckled and kissed Magnus's neck. "I love you," he murmured one last time before drifting off into la la land where nothing serious happened and old crushes didn't appear out of nowhere.
