Thank you for reviewing Black Wilted Lotus!

So I'm thinking of rewriting the first few chapters of this and We Can Never Separate, since both have really crappy beginnings. I mean, this story just went straight into Boris storming into his room. It was really vague, if I rewrite it with more detail it might be better... Then We Can Never Separate, well, the chapters just didn't fit together, it felt like too many gaps...

So yeah, might do that eventually.

I probably would have posted this chapter earlier, but then I made it double the length because it was even shorter than the last and didn't have much climax. At least you guys got a benefit from the extra time... and with the added part to this, I was able to plan a bit for future chapters.

Anyway, enjoy, review, follow, favorite, etc. Reviewing especially helps with my bad memory, so I remember to actually update and where I left off. (Maybe then I won't have to go read every chapter up to when I updated each time I have to update...)

[Chapter 7 - Having Fun]

"That fucking cat... Why the hell would he break the window? Now I'll have to get it fixed!" Gowland was pissed... once again.

The window in Boris's room was shattered and he was nowhere in sight.

Personally, I don't blame Boris for breaking out... we did keep him locked in here for a while...

Ah, wait. Is that...?

"Is that... blood on the window?" Gowland walked towards it and looked it over.

"Yeah... Great, I'll have to deal with that too..."

"Gowland...! You said you'd get along with him and you're already complaining...!"

"He broke the window!"

"Ever thought he might be claustrophobic?"

Silence. I guess he didn't...

"Where do you think he went off to...?" He shrugged.

"How am I supposed to know? Maybe he went to try and get himself killed again." No, not again!

"Gowland, we have to follow him...!"

"Why? He'll end up here eventually."

"He might not..." I paused. "He cut himself on the window, right...? There must be a trail of blood... We could follow...!"

"You expect me to go with you? What about the park?"

"It'll be fine without you for a little bit... You always go to visit Julius anyway..."

"Julius is my friend."

"And Boris is your responsibility..." He sighed again, admitting defeat. "Let's go then...!" We left the room.

I just hope we'll find him in time...

"How far could he have ran? Seriously, we've been following this trail for a while now..." I stopped, spotting something.

"Gowland... there's more blood once the trail gets up to this spot... and the spacing is closer..." He looked over to where I was indicating, then gained a look of thought.

"If it's spaced closer... then did his pace slow?" He sighed in relief. "At least that means he should be closer..."

"But then the extra blood... Did he get hurt again...? Or did his wound get worse...?" He shrugged.

"Pierce, you're forgetting I know about as much as you do." Oh, right...

"So then we'll just have to continue following..." He nodded.

"Pretty much."

We continued walking. How Boris could let out this much blood and still be alive, I'm amazed. Although, it's possible he could be...

No, this is no time to think like that!

"B-bastard..." Wait a minute, is that Boris's voice? It sounded like it came from over there...!

"Ahahaha! This really is fun! Kitty, aren't you enjoying this too? I mean, with how often you come to the castle to get hurt, you should be!" No way... is that Ace's voice? That doesn't sound good at all...

I looked over to Gowland. He was taking out his violin.

That means he's planning on attacking...

He moved to my ear and spoke quietly to me.

"I'm going to distract him, you get Boris." That's his plan? But we haven't even spotted them yet...

He walked in the direction their voices had come from afterwards.

Um, so do I just wait, or...?

There was a gunshot.

"Hello. I do believe that is an employee of mine, Ace."

"Hm, Gowland? Haha, looks like this brought more fun that I expected!" Wow, Ace is actually pretty scary sounding...

I followed where Gowland went, laying low in the bushes to not be spotted. I peaked through, seeing something a lot more gruesome than I expected.

Boris was behind Ace, sitting down with his back against a tree. He was leaned over to one side a bit, and on that side he was clutching his arm... there was a bone sticking out of it. His left leg had a deep stab wound, and his whole body was covered in slashes. Maybe this wouldn't have been too bad alone, but with his previous injuries...

How is he even alive?

Oh God... and he's still smiling.

I guess I should go over there... Hopefully I won't make too much noise... Well, I got here fine, so...

I carefully went over to the closest bush to him. I glanced over at Ace. He had his sword drawn and had this freaky smile on. I knew Ace would always be happy and stuff, but all of this is kind of disturbing... I mean... even Boris is smiling to this torture... That's not a good sign at all...

I have to get Boris out of here. I don't know how Gowland will be getting away though...

I sighed and lowered my voice to a whisper.

"Boris, how much can you move?" His ears perked up and he turned to me with the smile still plastered on his face.

"Well, I still have an arm and a leg..."

Gowland shot another bullet which Ace blocked with his sword.

"Then come over here...!"

Two more bullets. One with Ace blocked, the other went past him and hit... Boris. Of course.

"Haha! Looks like that backfired for you~"

"Okay... a leg." I'm going to have to come out of hiding, aren't I? I should be fine as long as Ace doesn't spot me...

Halfway out of the bush, Ace turned around.

"Come on~ You guys suck! What else am I supposed to play with?" Almost like a reminder, Gowland shot his gun again, which Ace instantly blocked.

I took this moment to pick up Boris.

"Fine, but you're not as fun..."

And ran.
