We do not own The Heroes of Olympus or Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Rick Riordan owns them. We only own the plot of this story.

Jason's POV:

Piper and I ran to the horse stables hand in hand. We checked everyone but there was no Percy. Finally we made our way to the last stable. I shoved the gate open, turned and shielded Piper from singed debris. I let go of her hand and rushed into the stable, Piper at my heels. I stopped and stared. Percy was there, the neckline of his shirt stained red and sticky with blood.

He was holding the missing dagger to his throat and watching the blood run down his windpipe. I launched at him and yanked the dagger from his white knuckles.

"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!" I shouted at him. He looked at me, his eyes puffy with shed and unshed tears.

"It's time to put me to rest. It's time to let me die. I'm going to join Annabeth and be with her forever."

"Annabeth has a better chance of surviving than you do if you keep this up. Percy we need you. You are the only one that can work with water and if we're going to defeat Gaea, than we need you to help." Piper said from behind me.

"Why do you even want to do this, man?" I asked.

"I already told you. I'm going to join Annabeth 6 feet under." He said.

"No your not." A weak voice said from the doorway.

Percy shifted his glance and a look of shock crossed his face. I turned my head and saw Annabeth slumped against the doorway. Percy stood up and stumbled to her.

He wrapped his arms around her and buried his face in her blond curls piled at the top of her head. He kissed her temple and said, "I'm glad I didn't leave you, wise girl."

I saw Annabeth smile against his chest.
