Hello again, people of the internet :) Like I said in my other story, Opposites Attract (for those who haven't read it, it'd be super awesome if you did *cough* self advertising *couch*), school starts tomorrow so I might not update for another few months. And sorry for the crappy chapter, I wanted to get this out (if I didn't do it now, I'd be too lazy to finish it another time) and hopefully update my story It All Started On New Year's Eve (it'd be awesome if you checked that out too) :D
(Psyche Griffin: Why wouldn't I put Skip Bo in? Oh and the other day I was playing on Rizzie's DSi and THERE WAS SKIP BO I GOT SO EXCITED. I know your cheeks are naturally rosy, that's why I put it in the chapter. Pft, of course I'm moving too fast, I always either rush this stuff or make it too long. You're sixteen in this story, and let's just say David is a really really good dancer and he's done musicals and been in music videos and stuff, which is why he's teaching people around the same age. It doesn't exactly make sense, but go with it. And btw, Logan's gonna be that friend you're superdupermegaextra close with (if it wasn't pretty damn obvious anyway), well apart from Hilary. Looooove youuuuuuu :P xx
Mystic-Scriptures: Yeah, I had fun writing the end :D I love the Gui and Logan friendship too! Originally it was going to be Carlos or James in that part, but Carlos was on the date with Hilary, and it didn't feel right with James in that little part but oh well. Aw, really? Thanks, you're so sweet! :) xoxo
thesandbar: I think I might have said this some other time, but I LOVE YOUR REVIEWS THEY ARE SO FUNNY AND PRECIOUS. I agree 100%, Kendall is the perfect specimen. I've never had to use crutches before, so I've never done that to anyone. But if I ever did threaten to hit someone in the crotch with crutches, I'd probably end up wacking myself in the head and burning my house down, because I'm just stupid like that. Woah really? Well, great minds think alike haha :D Nope, dead clowns aren't sexy. At all. Nup. Girl, I think we all want to fall asleep in the arms of Kendall Schmidt. Reality sucks. Thanks for reviewing!)
Kendall and I were at the park, lying next to each other on the grass as we watched the clouds slowly go by. My ankle healed and I had the boot taken off a few weeks ago, and now I could go back to dancing and not having someone watching my every move. I turned my head to look at Kendall. "Hey Kendall? I just wanted to say thanks," He turned to me and furrowed his eyebrows. "For taking care of me during the past month and a half. If you didn't, I probably would've broken every bone in my body by now. So uh, thank you. I owe you one." Kendall shrugged and smiled, winking at me.
"That's okay, you can just date me and we'll call it even."
"Did you just quote Lilo and Stitch?"
"You bet I did."
I laughed and shook my head, moving to sit up properly. "But seriously, I mean it. My family is really indepenent, and if something happens to one of us, we usually have to deal with it on our own. So thankyou." Kendall sat up.
"Stop saying thankyou, okay? I did it because I care about you." I bit my lip to stop myself from smiling too much and looked away. "So James' cousin is having a halloween party this weekend, you can thank me for taking care of you by coming along?" the blonde asked. I made a face. Kendall nudged me with his elbow. "Aw, come on... Hilary and Carlos and James and Logan will be there too. It'll be fun," he coaxed. Kendall begged me a few more times.
"Fine!" I sighed. "I'll go to the stupid party."
Kendall grinned and stood up, grabbing my arms and pulling me up with him. "That's the spirit! Now let's go on the swings!" He skipped off to the swings like a five year old.
"You're such a kid," I called out to him. He turned back to me and smirked, his green eyes sparkling.
"You know you love me," he teased before sitting down on one of the swings. I shook my head and did my best to get rid of the blush beginning to appear on my face.
I checked my costume in the mirror one last time before getting my phone and heading down stairs.
I had decided to go as a Hogwarts wizard in Gryffindor, mainly because I couldn't think of anything else. I was currently wearing a dark grey pleated skirt and a white dress shirt with a black v-neck sweater on top, a tie with the Gryffindor colours around my neck. I wore a black robe on top of that, the inside lined with dark red and the Gryffindor logo on the chest of the robe. To finish off my costume, I wore grey knee high socks and black hightops because I refuse to wear school shoes, flats or high heels.
The doorbell rang, and I opened the door to see Hilary in a Doctor Who costume. "Of course you decided to go as River Song," I teased as I closed the door. We made our way to the driveway, where Julius was waiting in his car. He was dressed up as the Mad Hatter. "Thanks for the ride, Jay. I didn't know you were coming along." I told him as I sat in the back. Hilary took the passenger seat.
"Kendall, James and I were talking the other day and James invited me. Sounded like fun," He shrugged. I narrowed my eyes at him as he drove.
Realization hit me and I smirked. "Are you sure it's not about the fact that Katie Knight could possibly be there?" Hilary gasped and slapped her brother's arm.
"Julius Raymond Johnson! How come you didn't tell me?!"
"Stop slapping me I'm driving do you really wanna die in a River Song costume?!"
"... fair enough."
After a few more minutes we got to our destination. James' cousin's house was a freakin' mansion! Is everyone in his family rich or royalty or something? Hilary, Julius and I made our way inside and looked around until we found Carlos, who took Hilary away to show her something. Before they left, Carlos and I high fived because he was also wearing a Gryffindor costume. Julius and I walked around a bit, when someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around to see a girl a little shorter than me, wearing an Alice in Wonderland costume. "Excuse me, are you Gui Griffin?"
I nodded. "Yes... I'm sorry, have we met before?" She shook her head, her brown hair resting on her shoulders.
"Never. I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Katie Knight," We shook hands and I sent a smirk in Julius' way, who blushed and looked down. "My brother Kendall talks about you a lot. You guys make a cute couple." My eyes widened, and this time Julius smirked at me.
"Oh no, Kendall's not my boyfriend. We're not together."
Katie slapped a hand over her mouth. "Oh my gosh I'm so sorry, I kinda just assumed you were together by the way he talks about you..."
I laughed. "It's fine." I raised an eyebrow when I saw Katie's attention turned to Julius, who went back to looking at the floor. "Katie, this is my friend's brother Julius," I put my hand on his back and gently pushed him forward.
She blushed and shook his hand. "Nice to meet you. Um, I heard there's a game room downstairs with air hockey. Would you like to join me for a game?"
When Julius didn't respond I answered for him. "He'd love to. Have fun you two!" Katie took his hand and guided him to the game room. Before they went down the stairs Julius turned to me and mouthed, 'Thankyou.' I grinned. Those two are definitely going to hit it off.
I continued to walk around by myself, looking for anyone I recognized as I squeezed through dancing bodies. Suddenly I bumped into someone. I looked up and saw Kendall grinning down at me. I stood up properly and looked at his costume.
Kendall wore a grey and black school uniform, and a tie with the Slytherin colours. His robe was similar to mine, but he had green on the inside instead of red and the Slytherin logo on the chest. With the blonde hair, he actually reminded me of Draco Malfoy. Kendall smirked. "Ten points to Gryffindor," he winked. I shook my head, hiding my blush. "But seriously, what's with the shoes?" He pointed to my black hightops.
"I refuse to wear flats, school shoes or high heels." I nodded.
Before Kendall could reply, James walked up to us in a Ravenclaw costume. "Hey guys! Glad you could make it- wow, ten points to Gryffindor," Even thought Kendall said the same thing not even a minute ago, my blush deepened. Kendall shoved James playfully.
"Dude, I already said that to her."
James frowned a little. "Damn it!"
I laughed, then someone wrapped their hands around my waist and rested their chin on my shoulder. I turned around a little to see Logan in a Hufflepuff costume. "Well, well, well. Ten points to Gryffindor." My blush deepened for a second time.
"Hey! We already said that to her!" Kendall and James exclaimed simultaneously.
I rolled my eyes and pulled myself out of Logan's embrace.
The party was actually way better than I thought it would be, and everone had a great time. At one point during the night I kept sneaking glances at Kendall, who'd look at me and wink before going back to what he was doing. Then Logan would nudge me and give me a look, basically telling me, 'I know you like him'.
We played truth or dare with some classmates from school, and I was dared to cover my face with jelly.
Stupid if you ask me.
But on the bright side, it matched my costume.
Once the game was over I left to go and wash the jelly off of my face. I was drying my face with a towel when I heard the bathroom door open and shut. I furrowed my eyebrows at the person who just walked in. "Kendall? What're you doing here?" He stood in front of me, making the small room seem even smaller.
He crossed his arms. "Admit it."
"What the heck are you talking about?"
"You like me."
"Well, yeah. What's the point of having friends you don't like?" I shrugged, leaning back onto the sink.
Kendall rolled his eyes. "Don't play dumb. I know you have a crush on me. You want to go on dates with me, you want to be my girlfriend..."
"Did you know I met your sister tonight? She said you talk about me all the time. It sounds like you," I poked his chest. "Have a crush on me."
"Okay, I like you more than a friend. So?"
I straightened up a little, still leaning against the sink. "Well so what if I have a crush on you?"
Kendall and I staring at each other, silence filling the room. Suddenly he stepped forward and crashed his lips on mine. I kissed back, wrapping my arms around his neck and bringing myself closer. His lips were so soft, and he was so warm...
Realization dawned on me and I gasped, breaking the kiss. I pushed Kendall away from me. "Did we just..."
"I think we did..."
I ran out of the bathroom, ignoring Kendall's voice telling me to come back. Looking around the mansion I was in, I searched for the person I needed to talk to. Hilary was off somewhere with Carlos, and I didn't want to interrupt their time together. In the corner of the living room I saw Logan talking with some friends and I swiftly walked over to him, grabbing his wrist and taking him away from the group of people. I spotted a door nearby and opened it, pulling Logan inside with me. I locked the door and switched on the light to find we were in a coat closet. "Gui what the heck?!"
I started speaking really fast. "After the game of truth or dare I went to the bathroom to wash the jelly off my face and Kendall walked in and said he knew I had a crush on him and I told him I met Katie and she said he talks about me all the time and then he confessed to liking me then I confessed to liking him and then we kissed and ah!" I sighed in frustration, sliding down the door and onto the ground. "Now I don't know what to do..." Logan sat down next to me.
"So you two kissed. Isn't that a good thing?"
"It just shocked me. I mean, what if the girl you liked just kissed you out of the blue, no questions asked?"
Logan nodded in agreement. "I guess you're right. I'd be surprised."
"Exactly."
"I say you go after him. And I'm not just saying that because he's one of my best friends. Don't you see it? The way he looks at you, the way he talks about you, even when he teases you. Kendall truly likes you for who you are."
I thought about it for a second. "It might take me a while, but I think I will go after him. Thanks for the advice, Logan." I paused to lean over and hug him. "Has anyone ever told you how amazing you are?"
"Why yes, I've been told many times."
I shook my head before standing up. "Thanks Loges, you can go back to your friends now." He stood up and unlocked the door.
"Forget about that - I'm going to find Kendall so I can slap him in the face for not telling me he liked you." Just as we walked out of the coat closet, Julius approached us. His hair was slightly disheveled and he had lipstick marks all over his face. Logan smirked and wiggled his eyebrows at the older boy while I laughed. "Um, why do you have lipstick all over your face?"
Julius grinned goofily. "Katie and I were hanging out, and she's everything I imagined her to be." He sighed dreamily. Logan shook his head and walked off to do something, while Julius and I looked for the others. Eventually we ran into James, Carlos and Hilary.
"Dude, why do you have lipstick all over your face?"
