I'm so sorry I forget about this story! I got caught up with other Ryley fics and my Sisters story and such that I completely forgot about this story. Please forgive me. I will be updating this as soon as possible.
Marley and I finished the first two batches up cupcakes and had three more to go. We had fun during it too as we threw batter at one another and spraying each other with frosting cans and shook sprinkles in each other's hairs. It was so fun an amazing.
Marley excused herself for the bathroom.
I sat down and waited for the next batch of cupcakes to be done, resuming the move from where we left off. I called Ross and he mentioned several movies in the movie bin in his office that Marley and I could watch. We pulled out Pitch Perfect and The Hunger Games. Of course I picked out the latter for the girl I loved.
Marley was gone for about ten minutes before she came back into the living room. "You okay?" I asked her.
She nodded. "I'm fine."
We finished the movie, both of us reciting that famous quote near the end of the film, and took out the cupcakes of the oven and threw in the fourth batch.
"Marley we're going to make over a hundred of these!"
"Close, we'll be at sixty." She told me. "And think about it; it's still early in the night so imagine if we had a bake sale at school and we stayed up all night. We could make over five hundred cupcakes. We should do that!" She laughed. "Mr. Schue will love that."
"Just go to his house and make cupcakes with him all night." I laughed.
"Only if you come back to Lima." She said with a look on her face. "Please?"
"You know what, Coach Sue will find out about a student making food at a teachers house and call the cops or whatever." I said. "So since you can't go there, I'll stay here."
"Please?"
"No."
"I broke up with Jake."
"What?"
"I broke up with Jake. The day after the fight. I realized that... you were right. He was making me his object, I was like this trophy to him that he won." She said. "I'm sorry I shouldn't of gone out with him after you cancelled. You had a literally good reason and I let Kitty get into me. I'm sorry. Now come home."
"It isn't just that Marley." I said to her. "There is so much shit at that school...I can't deal with it. That conversation I had with that Katie-Fake, I literally told her things that were so damn personal."
"Like what?"
"Shit that happened to me when I was eleven." I told her. "My parents went out of town, they got an eighteen year old babysitter neighbor of ours and the sitter was sick minded." those vivid memories of the girl coming back. "She just walked in on me in the shower and touched me."
Marley gave me a shocked look on her face. Not surprised, I told myself. I don't even know if Mom knows (though I'm sure she knows now). I'm sure Mom is depressed by now and Dad... I don't even know.
Marley instantly hugged me tightly. "Ryder—"
"Don't even apologize. That was five years ago when I was eleven. I'm okay now, don't worry." I hugged her back. "I know I have a hard time trusting girls but if the girl is special enough, I can trust her." I told her. "Look it wasn't someone personal that I know like, I don't know, Unique or Brittany or whatever because if it were I wouldn't ever talk to them again. But I'm okay now, really."
"Okay, I won't say it..but I still feel it." She said.
"And Marley?"
"Yes?"
"If you still love Jake, go back with him." Every word of that sentence stabbed me a million times. "Don't just break up with him because of me. I was letting some steam off and I just let it out of control."
"No, we're done. I said I still want to be friends with him, but I can't date him knowing that I was a trophy game for him." She told me. "He was upset, very upset, but I know he'll get over it. I hope."
"You sure?"
"Positive." She said. "Come on, let's go watch Pitch Perfect." She smiled as she grabbed my hand and brought me to the living room.
