A/N: Glad to be getting some nice feedback on this story, haven't written in yearssssss.

This chap is dedicated to my Tomatoe called Oliver. Thanks Tomatoli.

It was mid-way through the second month when Wainwright found out.

"Agent. Agent wake up."

Lisbon opened her eyes to find she had once again fallen asleep on her desk. That would make the 5th time in 3 weeks.. that someone had caught her at it other than herself.

"I think you should come to my office."

Lisbon's eyes teared up as the realisation that she was most definitely not coping as well as she'd hoped she could, hit her. But she held in the tears, standing from her desk and quietly followed Wainwright out, purposely holding her gaze at the ground so as to avoid meeting the eyes of her colleagues.

Rigsby, Cho and Grace all exchanged sorrowful glances, knowing what was ahead for Lisbon, and knowing there was nothing they could do to help. They had already stuck up for her too many times for it to be believable anymore, and though Wainwright was young, he was no idiot.

Lisbon let the office door fall closed behind her as she moved to stand in front of Wainwright's desk. She was holding her hands together and blinking back tears, her tiredness making her emotions irrational.

"Take a seat, Agent." Wainwright said not unkindly, gesturing to the seat beside her. Quickly she sat down, and he looked at her across the desk.

Lisbon hated that look. That "how are you? No really how are you" look. It came with concern and patronising tones and… she hated it. She got it a lot in highschool, looking back, when she first started at her new school and all the teachers knew what had happened to her mother she got that look a lot. And then later, in her final few years at school, when her father was his worse, she got that look so often she felt sick. Bringing herself back to now, she looked back across at Wainwright.

"What can I do for you agent?" he asked, and she looked at him confused.

"You… called me in here sir."

"Yes I know, but I honestly don't know what you want me to do. I tried to let it go agent. Missing meetings, clocking in late, not answering your phone…"

"Sir I-"

"Let me finish. We are all effected by Jane's sudden disappearance. But I'm not sorry I let him go."

"I know sir" Lisbon siad, her eyes down at her hands.

"Do you? Because the way your acting it's like you don't think I made the right decision."

"No sir, Jane was out of line."

"Right. So tell me agent. Why has your team been lying for you these past few weeks?"

Lisbon looked confused. Lying for me? Wainwright obviously recognised her confusion.

"Your team have been working practically without you, agent. Filling in your reports, telling me you were out, looking into leads when you weren't, making phone calls, and more. As rare and admirable loyalty like this is, I hope you can understand, it is not acceptable."

Hearing this alone made Lisbon want to burst into tears. Her team should have known better.

She managed however to use her last ounce of rationality to remain professional.

"No sir, completely unacceptable. Anything that they say they've done, they did completely under order from-"

"No need to lie for them Lisbon, please. Look. I'm gonna cut to the chase here. It's been what… a month? since Jane left?"

A month and a half.

"I am going to suspend you for… let's say two weeks. Paid leave, and I'd like you to see a shrink once a week for the next month or so. Is that understood?"

Lisbon had no energy to argue. She just hoped her team wouldn't be in trouble.

"Yes sir."

A/N: Hope you like it :)
