I hope my viewers appreciate the work put into these chapters. I rarely have any time on the computer to type so sorry if this took a while. At least I'm not one of those people that only update like once a year. Enjoy as the plot unfolds!
Some of The Most Awesome People Come From Fruit
The professor was shaking timidly as he got to work. His wrinkled hands slowly prepared a needle, filling the tube connected with a silver liquid. "Silver?" Ramnes thought aloud. Nawche nodded saying, "Yes, ohbytes are microscopic, metallic tubes containing oxygen and a few chemicals released if having come into contact with blood. The chemicals shouldn't harm... doesn't matter." his soft voice was almost inaudible. Shin stepped forward while scrunching a sleeve up his purple arm. The professor's eye-ridge raised in confusion. "This particular shot requires a very specific spot for injection." he explained, "So, where is your heart?" The Supreme Kai hesitated. "It's right-" he stopped, feeling a sharp sting and the ohbytes entering Shin's bloodstream. "Ow!" Shin raised his voice, "For an old geezer, you sure do move fast." Nawche removed the needle then refilling the tube. "Who's next?" he asked the other Kais. After seeing their now painful fate, Kabito, Quip, and Ramnes pointed at poor Nuto. They added and blurted the many reasons, lies or not, why Nuto should go next. Out of friendly kindness, Nuto deposited a well earned elbow into Ramnes's chest. Then one at a time, the Shin-jin were give a douse of the ohbytes.
They were over come with nausea. "Well, it's a small price to pay for our mission. Now that we know that the planet can and does sustain life, we must look at the even bigger picture. How this planet got here is still a mystery." Shin said with a new found hope. Everyone decided to lay down and relax for a short while. Every single one of them enjoyed their new ability to breath with ease. The air, wonderful air.
While the Kais did their own thing, Nawche pulled Analina into his office. "They will be here in less than an hour. Who knows what a group like that would do if they discovered these aliens. They have the potential of becoming experiments or even possible recruits." the professor whispered. The woman placed her hand around his wrist, gripping it firmly. Her eyes burned as truth stabbed at her precious thoughts. "Where can I hide them?" she pleaded. Too late...
During Nawche and Analina's discussion:
Shin was almost positive that Quip was bipolar. The blue Kai had moments when his actions and mood matched those of his branch buddies. There were also times he chose to be a complete loner. Quip thought his almost imperceptive get away from earlier had gone unnoticed. The Supreme Kai new there were many thoughts juggling their ways through each individuals thoughts. Shin regarded their predicament while finishing the last of his apple from the bag containing the food and water. 'Water?' He hadn't seen any water masses on his way here. It didn't matter.
Shin knew something was wrong with Quip. Then, curiosity got the best of him and he cleared his mind of all thoughts. The Kai pivoted to face Quip, who'd noticed and met eyes with Shin. Both stared and waited patiently. Nothing... Shin heard nothing. Nothing at all. The other Kais watched the two while making bets on who would break first. Without warning, Analina shouted from across the room. One of her long elegant fingers was pointed at the dome entrance. Shin broke concentration to take a brief moment to see what the fuss was about. It wasn't a brief moment.
Moments before:
Analina bolted out of the office and dashed towards the main room. There sat Shin and Quip in what appeared to be a competition of death stares. Onyx eyes locked on each other. Blank faces and stiff bodies. She should have said something like 'Turn around' or 'run' or even behind you'. No. when she saw the squad of Handlers barge in, Analina made a loud sound sort of like this, "ArhhAhweeAhhgck!" The woman realized she had just drawn attention to herself instead of the problem. To guide the Shin-jins' eyes away, she signaled them to turn towards the unwanted guests. There had to have been at least eight of them. Shin didn't seem to show any sign of wanting to cower. He simply glanced at them and smiled. This smile sent shivers down everyone's spine. The new comers stepped back at the sight. There wasn't much given to describe the group. Their bodies were completely encased in black clothes and weapons. The only thing exposed were their eyes, all either yellow, orange or red. The clothing was skin tight, revealing that three of the Handlers were women.
Analina fell to her knees and cried, her fingers dug into the dirt floor. 'What is Supreme Kai doing? He'll be killed...or worse!' she thought in dismay. "No. Analina," Shin said as if he read her-, "I won't." One member emerged from the back of the squad. He was taller than Shin, but smaller than Nuto. His red eyes flared with a deepening rage saying, "Where is the professor? If you lie...well, you all die." his voice was raspy and almost came out as a wheeze. To get a feel of satisfaction, the man aimed a gun-like-thingy at Shin's chest. "Am I clear?" the red eyed man spat. Before anyone could answer, Shin said, "Why do you need to know where the professor is, and why should we tell you?" The man placed his finger on a small trigger. "Who are you to... What are you?" The purple Kai put on that totally creeper smile again.
