Hey guys! I am finally back after so many months with an update! I honestly feel horrible for making you all wait for so long! I had inspiration, but I just never had the time to write it down until now!

I have an idea for the next two chapters, so hopefully those updates won't take too long!

I thank you all for your patience and I really do hope that you guys will like this chapter :)

Now, without further ado, I give you the next chapter! Enjoy!

After they shared their kiss, Klaus excused Caroline and she was forever grateful to him for that.

As she made her way back to the barrack, she put her fingers on her lips and a small smile graced her lips.

Caroline still wasn't able to complete the obstacle course because of her fear of heights, but she didn't really care.

Not after that kiss that she shared with her Commander.

Caroline knew that it was forbidden to have any type of a relationship with him, but she couldn't bring herself to care about those petty rules.

Once Caroline was at the barrack, she inhaled a deep breath and pushed the door open.

Her roommates sat on their cots and she walked in with no emotion on her face.

The blonde was never the greatest liar, so she had to stop herself from smiling at the memory of hers and Klaus' kiss.

"Was your Commander as jackass-y as ever?" The curly-haired brunette questioned as she looked up at her best friend.

"Obviously," Caroline shrugged even though she heard her voice crack.

"Wait a minute..." Katherine started.

"Caroline Forbes!" Bonnie shouted as she studied her face.

"What?" Caroline asked as she walked over to her cot and looked at them with her bright blue eyes.

"Don't tell me you did the dirty with him." Katherine said as she put her hand over her mouth in shock.

"What!? Of course not! I would never." Caroline cried out as her bright blue eyes widened in horror.

"But you're glowing..." Elena chimed in.

"Yeah, I'm glowing because of the scorching heat, duh!" Caroline lied as she kept her voice emotionless and her facial expression even.

Rebekah listened to the conversation that the blonde was having with her friends and her eyes widened in realization.

Holy shit. She thought.

Klaus walked into his barrack and his brothers were there.

He ignored them as he made his way towards the queen sized bed.

The Commanders' had a pretty big barrack compared to what the students had. Their barrack was more furnished and they had a television set. They also had a computer desk in the back and an indoor bathroom.

As Klaus reached for his sketch pad, he heard Elijah's voice.

"Did you tire the poor girl out?" Elijah questioned and didn't pay no mind to how he phrased the question.

Immediately Klaus thought about their kiss and he shook his head.

"No, I did not tire Caroline out." Klaus told him.

"Oh, so now it's Caroline and not Miss. Forbes?" Kol asked, amused.

Klaus paid Kol no mind as he took out his pencil and began to sketch whatever came to mind.

Much to his luck, he realized that he was drawing a girl who had bright blue eyes and a glistening smile.

Klaus let out a frustrated sigh and tried to get the blonde out of his head, even though he knew that he wouldn't be able to.

Never in his whole career, was he so enamored with a student.

Actually, he was never enamored with any of his students- not in the slightest of ways until Caroline came along with her sharp tongue and witty responses.

"Brother?"

Klaus was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard Elijah's voice.

"Yeah?" He questioned, as he shut the half-finished sketch of Caroline.

"Were you successful in teaching her how to go through the obstacle course?"

"Somewhat," he shrugged as he stood up and removed his uniform.

"Are you going somewhere?" The youngest Mikaelson questioned as he stood up and retreated a bottle of beer from the mini fridge that they had in their barrack.

"Kol..." Elijah warned.

"It's just a bottle, 'Lijah. Lighten up and join me."

"Now why would I do that? Especially when I am in charge of ten students?"

"Because then maybe you'll have the balls to make a move on that sexy curly-haired brunette. You know, the one with the brown eyes. The one that you can't keep your eyes off of..." Kol clarified.

Elijah ignored Kol and turned to Klaus. He realized that his younger brother wore a pair of his red Adidas sport pants and no t-shirt.

"I'm going out for a run." Klaus replied finally as he pulled on his Nike sneakers.

"Shirtless?" Elijah questioned as he furrowed his eyebrows in disapproval.

"Yes, shirtless. It's not like any of the students will be out and about at this hour." He shrugged before he reached for a bottle of water and left the barrack.

Klaus took off running in the other direction.

Elijah turned on Kol and his eyes narrowed.

"I do not look at Katerina in such a way." He spat, defending himself.

"Katerina? Is that what you call her now. I could've sworn that she introduced herself as Katherine."

"What are you trying to get at, brother?" He asked.

"Nothing really... All I'm saying is that you have finally joined the dark side." He said with a wink before he left the barrack.

"Dark side?" Elijah asked himself as he furrowed his eyebrows on confusion.

Klaus was running out in the desert and he felt the scorching heat on his skin.

He had to try and get the blonde out of his head before he made another move on her that wasn't allowed.

Relationships weren't allowed within the base and if his father was to find out that he was starting to fancy one of the students, he'd be fired without much thought.

Shaking his head, he looked down at the sand. He spotted a scorpion and he quickly moved to the left.

He knew that some of the scorpions in the desert were as deadly as the rattlesnakes and he wasn't about to die from being poisoned by some small creature.

The commander stopped running about half an hour later and he doubled over as he tried to get his ragged breathing back to normal.

He took a swig out of the canteen and then looked down at his watch.

He had to get back before dinner because he had a couple of announcements to make.

Klaus took off running towards the base and tried to clear his head from that kiss that seemed to be plaguing his thoughts.

The kiss that he shared with the blonde cadet wasn't supposed to be intimate, but for some reason he felt like it was.

He quickly shook his head and focused on the task at hand.

He and his brothers had to get all of the cadets ready for the army and he couldn't waste anytime fantasizing about that kiss that he shared with a certain blonde bombshell.

Caroline was laying on the cot in her barrack and she was smiling like an idiot as the memory of the kiss that she shared with Klaus played through her mind.

Her friends were currently mingling with the others and even though they invited her, she decided to stay in.

The blonde turned on her side and she could almost cry out in excitement.

He was the greatest kisser and she knew that she had to try and get over it, but for some reason, she couldn't.

Caroline was so lost in her own thoughts, that she didn't hear the sound of approaching footsteps. She turned around only when she heard Rebekah's voice.

"Rebekah?" Caroline questioned as she turned towards the other blonde.

"Are you hooking up with my brother?" The only Mikaelson girl wondered as she eyed the blonde suspiciously.

"What?" She stammered as her bright blue eyes widened in fear and confusion.

"I asked you a simple question, Caroline…" The blonde retorted.

"No, of course I'm not! I can't even stand him!" Caroline told her, defending herself.

"It's just the two of us here… You can tell me the truth." Rebekah reassured her.

"Uh… It was really nothing… I mean, it's not like we hooked up or something."

"So, what did you do?" She wondered as she crossed her arms over her chest.

"I don't think he intended to do what he did, but he only did it because I was having a panic attack while I was trying to complete the obstacle course.

"Get to the point, Caroline… Come on."

"It isn't important… And anyway, why do you want to know so bad?" The blonde wondered as she eyed Rebekah carefully.

"I want to know because it against the rules to fraternize with the cadets." She replied.

"I know the rules, okay?" Caroline suggested as she crossed her arms over her chest and huffed in annoyance.

It wasn't like she forced him to kiss her…

"Fine," Rebekah shrugged. "This conversation is obviously going nowhere." She added before she turned away from her.

"Bekah…" Caroline started, but was interrupted.

"The sun is going to set in a couple of minutes and dinner is going to be served in twenty minutes." She told her before she left the barrack.

The blonde sighed heavily once she was alone and she reached for the duffel bag that was underneath her cot.

Once she had the duffel bag in hand, she rummaged around for her diary.

She couldn't exactly speak to anyone about her latest fling with the commander of all people and so she decided to write her feelings down.

Dear Diary,

Klaus kissed me earlier today because I was having a panic attack and now I can't get him out of my head. I don't know what to do because he was always so rude to me, but now he kissed me. What should I do? Do I confront him and ask about his true feelings or do I let this one go and pretend like we never shared a kiss? Wow, this is so difficult…

Caroline shut her diary once she wrote what she had to write and she stood up.

Her friends were obviously not coming back and so she decided to go to the cafeteria by herself.

Klaus eventually made his way back to his barrack and he spotted his two brothers getting ready for supper.

"Where have you been, Niklaus?" Elijah questioned.

"I had to clear my mind." He replied as he shrugged and changed out of his wet clothes.

"You couldn't clear your mind sooner?" Kol wondered as he eyed his brother with curiosity in his usually mischievous chocolate brown eyes.

"Get off my back." Klaus dictated as he rolled his eyes in their direction. "I did nothing wrong." He added before he grabbed a towel and made his way towards the shower that they had in the barrack.

"What is his deal?" Elijah asked as he eyed the closed bathroom door.

"Who even knows? Nik never really was one to open up about his problems."

"You don't think that this has to do with that blonde girl that he has been being rude to, right?" The eldest Mikaelson wondered as he put his index finger on his chin in a thinking matter and focused on his younger brother.

"I doubt it has anything to do with her." He told him as he walked over to the mini fridge.

"No more beers, Kol." Elijah ordered as he stared at his younger brother with a pointed look.

"Relax, brother… I just wanted a bottle of water."

"Good," he sighed as he took out a blank piece of paper and wrote down what it is they had to tell the cadets.

Once Klaus was finished with his shower, he came out and quickly got into uniform.

"We should get to the cafeteria." He told his two brothers.

"We should," Elijah agreed as he handed Klaus the piece of paper.

"Do you want me to tell them?" Klaus wondered as he read the paper over.

"No, I just want you to know what it is that we will be doing. Kol is going to read the announcements aloud because it looks like all of the cadets believe that he is the coolest."

"Ah, my reputation does do me justice." Kol winked as he grabbed the paper from Klaus and walked towards the door.

"They also say that you think with your manhood and not your brain." Klaus called out and Kol smirked as he shook his head.

When the three brothers arrived at the cafeteria, all thirty of the cadets were already seated.

The boys and girls sat together and they were conversing with one another.

Klaus walked to the front and he reached for the microphone.

"If we can please have your attention…" He began as his voice echoed throughout the cafeteria.

Caroline's eyes snapped towards him and she almost hurt her neck because of her rapid movement. Rebekah noticed the blonde's sudden attention and she eyed her older brother disapprovingly.

She was going to have a talk with him.

"You have all been here for a couple of days now and it looks like you are slowly understanding what it is that an actual base is about. It is about negotiation and teamwork and once this program is finished, we hope that you will take every skill that you learned with you." Klaus told them before he gave Elijah the mic.

As Elijah was telling them about some of the less fun announcements, Klaus' eyes met Caroline's and they locked gazes for a good couple of seconds before the blonde broke the contact.

She had to try and forget about that kiss that she shared with him because she knew that it wouldn't get her anywhere.

When Elijah gave the mic to Kol, Katherine batted her eyelashes at the eldest Mikaelson before she focused her attention on Kol.

"Now that those boring announcements are out of the way, I believe that it is time to share some of the more exciting announcements…" He started as he licked his lips.

Bonnie looked at her plate of food and a small smile began to play on her lips because she had to admit that she was starting to crush on the youngest of the commanders.

"You have all been here for a couple of days now and it has been interesting and filled with activity. We are usually all business, but we like to let loose sometimes as well…"

"Brother, do hurry up with the announcement." Elijah urged him and Klaus nodded in agreement.

"As I was saying before these two so rudely interrupted, we are usually all business, but we like to let loose once in a while."

"Which means…?" One of the cadet's that were seated questioned.

"Which means that tomorrow morning we will travel to Tel Aviv and we will check into a hotel for about two days. The hotel is quite good considering that it has five stars. The next two days are really going to be days to relax, but after that we will return here and we will begin the heavy training. I do not want to see any of you whining and groaning when things get too tough because most of the other bases do not even have a break."

The cadets started crying out in happiness and the guys were fist bumping and smirking at one another.

"I will take any questions that you have." Klaus told them as he took the mic from Kol.

Tyler's hand went up and he called on him.

"Are we going to be able to get drunk?" Tyler questioned.

"Sure, but I recommend you don't unless you want to have a hangover when we get back here."

Tyler nodded and Stefan's hand went up.

"Stefan," Klaus called on him.

"What hotel are we staying in?"

"We are staying at the Sheraton Tel Aviv Hotel." He answered.

"Oh, I've been there a couple of times!" Anna said and she bit down on her bottom lip when she realized that she said it out loud.

"It's okay, Anna." Jeremy reassured her as he threw her one of his signature smiles.

"Did you like it there?" Bonnie asked her, her interest piqued.

"Yeah, it's a great hotel and it's quite expensive."

"This is true." Klaus agreed. "Anymore questions?"

The cadets ignored him because they were too excited to even think about any other questions and so Klaus put the mic down and decided that he needed some fresh air.

Rebekah noticed that her brother was missing from the crowd and so she decided to look for him outside. He was always one that loved being outside.

"Hey, Bekah…" Stefan started and the blonde turned to him with a smile on her lips.

"How are you, Stefan?" She questioned as she bit down on her bottom lip and shifted from one foot to the other.

"I'm good." He smiled. "How are you?" He wondered as he crossed his arms over his broad chest.

"Good," she smiled.

"Since, we're going to Tel Aviv tomorrow…" He began.

"I would love to go on a date with you." Rebekah beamed at him before she leaned into his cheek and pressed her lips to his cheek.

Stefan smiled at her and she walked away from him.

Once the blonde was outside, she called for her brother and he eventually answered her.

When Rebekah was standing across from Klaus, she crossed her arms over her chest and stomped on over to him.

"Is there a problem, sister?" Klaus questioned as he eyed her with confusion in his blue-gray eyes.

"Are you hooking up with her?" She asked, getting straight to the point.

"Hooking up with whom exactly?" He wondered as he looked up at the dark sky and noticed the stars that seemed to go one for miles and miles.

"You know who I am talking about, Nik. Don't play dumb like she did." His little sister snapped.

"Rebekah… I don't know what it is you're thinking, but I did not hook up with anyone."

"Bloody hell! What is with the two of you? You should know better than to lie to me, Nik. I can always sense when somebody is lying."

"What do you want me to say?" He mumbled as he looked down at his younger sister.

"I want you to tell me the truth."

"Okay, fine, because you're obviously not going to drop this anytime soon."

"This is true. Now spill." She dictated.

"I kissed Caroline." He confessed as he ran his fingers through his hair.

"I knew something happened between the two of you! She was practically glowing and you were smiling a lot more than usual."

"Rebekah…" He began.

"Caroline is a good person and I really hope that you won't mess with her brain. You don't deserve her, Nik. Not after the way you treated her these past few days." Rebekah told him even though she knew that it was messed up.

"You don't know how I treat her when we're alone." He snapped, taking defense.

"I honestly don't want to know how you treat her when the two of you are alone. I want you to leave her the hell alone." The blonde barked.

"You can't tell me what to do." He retorted as his eyes darkened with anger.

"I know that, but father can always put you in your place. You know that fraternizing with the cadets is not allowed. I don't think you want to lose the job that you love so much because of some girl that you find attractive."

"I get your point, so please do be a doll and go back to the cafeteria." The commander ordered as he eyed her pointedly.

"Good." She said and with that she turned away from him.

Once Klaus was alone, he exhaled the breath that he has been holding and he shook his head in irritation.

Why did his sister care anyway?

Shaking his head, he looked up at the sky yet again and tried to relax.

Klaus heard the sound of approaching footsteps and he whirled around. Caroline was walking towards him and she was smiling at him shyly.

She looked as radiant as ever, even though she wore a simple outfit.

"Hey," she said as she came to a stop in front of him.

"Hey," he replied as he tried to keep his voice neutral.

"Um… I think Rebekah may know that there is something between us." She told him.

"I know. My sister confronted me." He replied.

"Of course she did…" Caroline sighed heavily.

"Listen, Caroline… This thing between us… It isn't going to go anywhere."

"Oh… Well, thanks for putting that lightly." She said, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

"It's the truth. It's not like I like you or something… I only kissed you because of your panic attack, but there are no feelings there." He lied and internally kicked himself in the head for being such a jerk to such a sweet girl.

"Likewise," she agreed before she turned away from him.

The blonde could feel the moisture building up in her eyes and she quickly made her way towards the barrack because she wasn't about to break down in front of the guy that didn't care about her.

"Dinner isn't finished yet." Klaus called out.

"I'm not hungry." Caroline sniveled as she took off running towards the barrack.

Klaus kicked at the sand and he shook his head sadly. He never wanted to hurt her, but if that was what it was going to take to stop their relationship from progressing, it was what he was going to do.

There you have it! I know that I didn't leave it on a happy note, but hopefully the next two chapters will make up for this angsty part! Rebekah is playing by the rules, which is why she is being so annoying!
