Chapter 7:

A month later, Aqua could finally walk again, she got closer to the Oak family, and Daisy was teaching her English and how to read time. She was so happy that she could finally move around without a cast or crutches, although, she did have to wear a small brace that could be concealed inside her shoes for another week or two.

The day proceed as normal but today the schedule was: breakfast, Green leaves to study and train in Johto, lunch, Daisy leaves for work at the lab, Daisy and Professor Oak come home, dinner, then going to sleep and waking up the next day.

On this day, Green left to go train in Johto under a gym leader. He was going to be gone for a year or two until he could start his own Pokemon journey. He left after breakfast and the house was quiet, a little too quiet, and Aqua did not like it. She decided that in order to celebrate being free of crutches, she was going to go to the park. Red was there, of course. He smiled at Aqua and the two talked.

"Hey you're crutches are gone!" Red noticed.

Aqua smiled happily and nodded her head.

"Well, in order to celebrate this occasion, I have some place to show you." Red got up and took Aqua's hand. He lead her to a secret lake somewhere on the outskirts of Pallet Town. It was obvious that no one knew of it.

It was a beautiful lake hidden by trees. It was completely surrounded by trees, but they were twelve feet from the lake. The water glistened from the sun and it sparkled beautifully. Water type Pokemon jumped in and out of the water and Pokemon came to the lake to drink water. Some Pokemon even picked at the nearby bushes filled with berries. Aqua was surprised no one found the lake after all, it was not like the lake was hidden underneath the tree tops, it was completely open to the sky.

Both kids sat on the edge of the lake putting their feet in. They started talking about life, Pokemon, their dreams, and Pokemon adventures they wished for.

"So what is your family like?" Aqua asked him.

"Oh um…" Red paused. Aqua could tell something was wrong. "...they're okay."

"Is something wrong?" Aqua asked, concerned.

Red looked down at the water as he talked. "Well I mean I don't know much about my dad, he left when I was young…" Then he looked up at Aqua, "What about you?"

Aqua stared off into space trying to think of an answer. She forgot how much she longed for a family. "Oh well you know…" she waved off her want and lied to Red, "The typical family." Aqua was not every good at lying and Red saw through it immediately.

He stared in disbelief, "Come on, Aqua, I can tell you're lying. I told you the truth, now you tell me."

The brunette sighed. "Okay, the truth is...I don't know my family. I live with the Oaks right now but I'm going to find my true parents one day." She said with determination.

Just then, the sky boomed. The clear blue skies were become darker and darker. Ominous clouds began to form and another loud BOOM was heard. Red and Aqua looked at each other. Then, rain began pouring down on the two and they jumped up. Both kids put their shoes on and ran underneath a tree. For the time being they stood under the tree and thought about what just happened. They were deciding whether not to wait out the storm, but it showed no sign of stopping anytime soon. They ran back to Pallet Town as it was pouring Caterpies and Weedles on them. Lightning struck a tree a few feet behind them and they ran even faster. When the two got back to Pallet, a cold wind kicked in. They ran under another tree to catch their breaths. No one expected it to rain the way it did.

Aqua saw her "house" up ahead, but felt bad leaving Red to run in the ran for another few blocks. "Hey, Red. I see my house up ahead, do you want to come in until the rain stops?" She suggested trying to get them both out of the rain.

"Yeah. Sure. I'd like that." he replied.

The two ran onto the porch and Aqua knocked on the door. Green opened the door to a soaking wet Aqua and Aqua was shocked to see him at home. She thought he left in the morning to go to Johto. She first asked why he was still home and then explained the situation so he would let Red in the house too. Green let both Aqua and Red in the house to dry off.

"Everything was cancelled. The flight, trains, and boats because of the storm," Green sighed annoyed. "Now go to your room and get changed."

Aqua did as she was told and Red was directed to sit in front of the fireplace. Green went into the hallway closet and took out a towel for Red to use to dry off further. When Aqua came out of her room she was dressed in sweatpants and a large t-shirt. She went into the kitchen and fixed up some warm drinks. Then, she went over to Red and gave him a drink. Daisy came home a little later.

After the storm passed Red went home and Aqua talked to Green. Overall it was a pretty interesting day.

The next day Green left for his Johto training and Red began "studying" for his up and coming Pokemon journey he was going to start soon.

The following year Aqua was stuck at home while Green and Red were out on their journey.

I guess I should be happy for them but I felt pretty lonely. Aqua thought to herself. It was around that time that she began her singing habit. She remembered seeing an old guitar and piano in the house and she asked Daisy if it was okay for her to use. Daisy nodded yes and smiled. She understood what Aqua was going through. She missed her brother too and the liveliness around the house.

Aqua went to the piano and tapped the keys. She looked at some old sheet music lying around the house and began teaching herself how to play. It took around a week or so, but she got the hang of it pretty quickly and next, she taught herself the guitar. A little after that she began singing and playing songs from the radio, before she began making up her own.

One day Daisy and Aqua were talking. "Hey, Aqua, darling," Daisy called from the doorway of the living room and kitchen. There was not really a door there, but there was an outline of a doorway.

"Yeah?" Aqua looked up from the piano.

"Do you want to get something so you can record your songs?"

"Huh?" Aqua was completely confused.

"Come on," Daisy nodded at the front door.

The two girls went out to an electronic store. Daisy picked out a small, cheap, good microphone and an inexpensive but handy laptop. Aqua looked at Daisy skeptically and Daisy laughed.

When they came home Daisy helped Aqua understand how to use the laptop and how to plug in the microphone. After that she spent a lot of time in her "room" working with the guitar and every now and then worked on the piano. She recorded herself just playing and singing, and never wondered about the world around her while she was singing. After her recordings she would check out the video of her singing and playing and the audio that was recorded. If they were both good she would save the audio file for future reference and upload the video version to her PokeTube channel. She had quite a few followers on there with many views, likes, and comments in a matter of months.

The few days later when Aqua opened her eyes to a surprise. Professor Oak, Daisy, and two people she thought she would never see for the longest time were in her room, one of them the boy she considered her brother, Green. Aqua immediately hugged Green.

"Hey, I don't get a hug?" The other boy joked.

Aqua giggled at his joke and hugged Red too. She was happy to see everyone in the room, but did not know why they were there.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Daisy shouted excitedly, jumping up and down.

"Wha-? Birthday?" Aqua was puzzled.

Daisy and Professor Oak explained what a birthday was and that since they did not know when her birthday was, they decided on the date Aqua came into their lives, October 4th.

They went on with the celebrations and Red and Green had their rivalry continue during the party. They had a Pokemon battle right in the middle of the party, outside. They still wanted to prove who was the better trainer and to be honest, Aqua thought it was cute. She was excited to see the Pokemon battle between two trainers she actually knew. At the end of the battle, of course, Green won.

"Hey, Onii-sama," Aqua called Green onii-sama and onii-chan often even though he was not her actual brother, "you did great!" She smiled at him. "You too, Red! I hope to become a strong Pokemon trainer like you two! Oh!" Aqua remembered something helpful she could do, "Do you want me to heal your Pokemon?"

"Sure!" Both trainers said.

Aqua went to work and healed the Pokemon in a matter of minutes. Professor Oak, Daisy, and Green watched in astonishment while Red smiled at Aqua's work. The three people she lived with did not know of her power, but Red did. That was one thing Aqua failed to ever bring up while at the Oaks' residence until the party that is. She explained to them how she could heal Pokemon, but she did not know how.

"Hey, nee-chan," Green said, in return to onii-chan or onii-sama would call Aqua nee-chan meaning little sister, "come here." He motioned with his fingers to follow him to the back of the house.

Author's Note: So originally, I put a list of shippings I was going to put in the fanfic here, but since this is a revamped version, I'm not putting that in here. Sorry if you didn't get to see it the first time, but I already decided on the shippings.
