I'm not dead I swear! Just busy. I realized that I got a lot further in actually writing the story than posting it so I'm going to be updating until my most recent chapter. ENJOY! I do not own Twilight. Never have, never will. (Spelling errors in the story are intentional.)
It's All In The PAST!
Bella and Jason were best friends until Leah came along. Then they were more than best friends. The three of them had their own make-shift family. Too bad that didn't last all that long. Too bad Bella's on her own now, and it's all her fault, no matter what anyone says.
Chapter 7- Shopping Disaster Gone WRONG ! (Oh, and now he thinks my friends are horrible.)
I got bored pretty quickly and I guess my face lit up at the sign of the bookstore because they offered to meet up for dinner when they were done with the second store.
I took my time, perusing the shelves until a really worn one caught my eye. Turns out that it was about Quilete legends.
"This looks like it'll be interesting," I mused.
I bought it at the counter, wished the tired clerk good luck on his way home, and started looking for Angela and Jessica.
I'd decided to take a shortcut when it happened. A group of boys, no, not boys, men, approached me. My pepper spray was in my bag, but I had a feeling it wouldn't work. I got it out anyway. I didn't want anyone to be dead because to me. I didn't want to touch them.
"Hey, sugar, why don't you come with us and we'll have some fun?"
I knew what that meant. I also knew what it meant when they started trying to press in on me. They may be human, but they were drink and they were getting too close for comfort.
"Back off!" I snapped, brandishing the pepper spray. They staggered back and clawed at their eyes, giving me the out I needed. It wasn't long before they caught up with me though. Just when I thought I was a goner for sure, these super bright lights came racing down the alley. I dove for the car. They would have to hit me, because there was no way I was letting those guys get me.
"Get in." Someone growled. I looked up to find Edward Cullen glaring at the men. Hm. Wonder how he got here.
I'd ask him later, I decided. When he wasn't so angry.
The guys scuttled off and he got back into the car.
"Why are you alone?" He demanded.
"I went to the bookstore while Angela and Jessica went dress shopping. It would've been okay if those guys hadn't shone up. The dress shop is literably right across the street!"
"That doesn't make it okay, Bella." Edward growled as he floored the gas.
"Slow down." I couldn't help the whimper. Everything about this reminded me of- no. I would not go down that road today. I refuse.
"Edward" I yelped when the speedometer needle hadn't moved. He turned to glare at me.
"What, Isabella?! What could you possibly want right now?!" He snapped.
"Please slow down." I whimpered. Of course. I would cry right now. That's exactly what needs to happen. He chuckled softly and I followed his gaze. Both hands were squeezing the life out of his rock-hard arm and I was briefly reminded of what he was.
"It's not funny." I gasped. His eyes widened and he nodded.
"Of course." He muttered. "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable." I rolled my eyes, thankful when he slowed the car to just above the speed limit, like everyone else soon would be.
We got to the restaurant Angela texted me about and found the two waiting outside.
"OMG, Bella, where have you been?!" Jessica yowled for the world to hear. Angela gave her a disapproving look and stepped forward to give me a hug.
"I'm so sorry, Bella. I realized five minutes in that we shouldn't have left but then I couldn't leave Jessica and she just wouldn't leave the store…" She turned to Edward. "Thank you, Edward. I… I wasn't a good friend tonight. I'm glad you got her here safely."
I knew Angela was hiding her inner fan-girl for my sake, but Jessica sure wasn't.
"Ohmigosh it's Edward Cullen!" She started babbling about who knows what. I tuned her out after that.
"I made a huge mistake, Bella. We should have waited for you. I just… I'm sorry." Angela muttered.
"It's okay." I told her. I knew she meant it and I knew she wouldn't make the same mistake if she could help it.
"No, it's not." Edward hissed into my ear. "Have you all eaten?"
"Angela and I ate already. Sorry, Bells, but you were taking too long and we were hungry! Well, I was hungry. Angie here was too nervous!" Jessica simpered. I knew then that she was never my friend. She wasn't anyone's friend. The only person able to match her style was Lauren. I hope to God that Tyler wasn't subjected to her cruelty, And Mike, for that matter. They better be good to those boys. Angela's cold voice snapped me out of my reverie.
"What we did tonight was unacceptable and you have the nerve to fawn over Edward Cullen?! What kind of friend are you?!"
Jessica snorted but I knew Angela had hit a sore spot.
"Do you want us to take you home or are you going with Edward?"
"I'll be fine, Angela. Thank you." I have some questions for him.
"I'm sorry I wasn't better."
Who likes Maniac Edward from Twilight who doesn't listen to a word Bella says because he's throwing a temper tantrum?! (Not I, sat the warrior cat.) Anyone? Just me? Okay. Well, next chapter should be up real soon.
