Jean's Hand

Jean was not at all happy with the arrangements that were occuring because of the new students. She had never liked Bella Swan and found another female with a dominate personality to be a challenge to her position as female lead on the X-Men team. This was the thought that passed through her mind, but in truth she never had been a leader of any kind as there had never been any students at the X-mansion besides herself, Scott and of course X-23. X-23 in her opinion was an obomination that shouldn't exist. In others eyes there was no difference between a clone and a mutant, but in Jean's eyes it was a difference between natural order of things and not the natural order of things.

Then came the major blow to her ego, the fact Jasper happened to be the one going to Germany instead of herself. This caused her throat to catch and for her to not like the fact a student who had been there less then twenty-four hours was already taking on a major role within the X-Men. She constantly brushed her tounge against her teeth to try and control her anger, but found that this didn't help to settle her foul mood. His words also stung. "Senioirity means nothing if another student has the skills to do something." It turned out that his power was one that the professor had likely been lookng for, for a long time... a power to calm a persons fears so that mediation could occur without any effort.

Jasper was Xavier's new pet and Jean didn't like it one bit.

She also couldn't do anything about it, nor could she expect either of the teachers or Scott to come to her aid. Which left her focus on Bella and Alice. Her nose wrinkled up with disdain as she thought about the two. The problem with Bella as she said was the fact she happened to be a clone, an unnatural abomination. The problem with Alice was her punkish style, her boyish charm that still allowed her to be considered feminine in most circles. The exception to the rule of course was with Jean and her clique. To be a true female fetal you had to have a lady like presence.

Thus she made up her mind not to be friends with either girl and not have to deal with them whenever possible. She disappeared on the two girls with her boyfriend Duncan as soon as she could and only said goodbye to Scott. She didn't notice the look on Duncan's face as she waved goodbye to Scott. She then started to rant about the two girls. "We got three new students in last night. That Justin person... I think that was his name... he's already being sent on one of the Professor's extra curicular activities. As for the two girls... neither one of them have any fashion sense. And yet Scott and that professor think I should take them under my wing."

"You should." This comment from Duncan caused Jean to stare at him. "If they have no fashion sense then you and your friends are the only one to help them."

"True. Not sure though if they end up being a part of the geek squad, or some other lame clique. They're nobodies, so they should remain nobodies." A thought crossed her mind then. "The reason you don't want to help them out is because you think that they would be competition." To which she replied... "No... Bella is stubborn as a mule and Alice is far from being a bright one."

They arrived at school, only for her to find out she was supposed to guide Bella and Alice around the school. She came up to the two girls and glared at them. "Follow me you two... and don't cause trouble." She watched as the two girls rolled their eyes. "And don't roll your eyes at me either. Seriously... that is so immature." She showed them around the place and then led them back to their home room. She then headed back to her class, glad that she wouldn't get to see them until her lunch break.

She unfortunatly had to see Todd Tolansky hopping up and down outside each of the classroom windows for her first period class. For her second period class she ended up looking out to see the principle's car slimed one again, the culprit being quite obvious. She clicked her toungue and shook her head. "Seriously... I hope that they don't end up being two more trouble makers."

Her friend raised her eyebrow. "Really? They're that bad. The two new girls I mean?"

"Yeah. On top of having no fashion sense they both seem to have no respect for authority." Jean of course meant by authority herself.

"Too bad. Hopefully they'll straighten out before it is too late."

"I hope so too." Finally the bell rang and they headed to their lunch period and Jean sat down iwth all of her friends, gossiping about the boy's and how the cheerleaders were dense.

One of the girls then asked Jean a particular question. "About that new guy. Is he cute? Is he into sports?"

"I didn't really pay attention and I don't know."

One of the other girls pressed. "Come on..."

"I'm kind of miffed that he got the extra curicular assignment and I didn't."

"Then he must be smart."

"I guess. He can speak German." Jean looked up in time to see Bella and Alice enter the room, a smile suddenly spreading across her face, only to be quickly hid. The girls walked past the cheerleaders as they went to sit down and Jean used her powers to make it seem like Alice bumped into the head cheerleader and caused the drink to spill. She then watched as the head cheerleader picked up her drink and poured it onto Alice's head. Alice had been wearing a white shirt, which meant that her bra showed through and she had to leave in a hurry.

"Well... looks like one of your two girls is a clutz. Why is that other girl glaring at you."

Jean swallowed. "She's likely shallow enough to belive that I planned this out with the cheerleaders."

"As if we would have anything to do with those girls. Even those of us on the cheerleading squad don't wear our uniforms all day."
