6 months after summoning
"Stop here Arvak." After summoning her new familiar and learning what he could, Velixare had decided to travel. Where better to go then the magic academy now lying before him. Dismounting Arvak at the edge of the plain, Velixare patted the horse. Taking his staff from its side, Velixare dismissed the undead horse. Walking the rest of the way to the structure, he stopped at the entrance. Looking in the distance he saw a small group standing around. What surprised him wasn't the group but the shapes he saw with them.
"Ah thats right. She did say they would be attempting the summon soon." Velixare mumbled. Making his way toward the group he saw that their attention was focused on whoever was in the center. He never did see what they were focused on, as a large explosion soon occurred obscuring all from view. Waving his hand to try and clear the air, Velixare wondered what happened.
When the cloud was dispersed enough to see, the cause of the explosion was plain to see. A young pink haired girl had attempted her summoning. Laying on the ground next her was, an oddly dressed boy.
Turning away from the scene Velixare made his way toward the center structure, a meeting to attend. Making his way up the stairs he looked out the windows, only to see the group of students returning to their quarters. Dismissing the group for now he continued upwards. Reaching the top Velixare was greeted by a pretty young woman sitting at a desk.
"Can I help you?" she questioned.
"I have a meeting with the headmaster." he responded. The woman looked at the papers on her desk before spotting something moving on the ground by her feet. Her eye twitching slightly, she attempted to stomp on the annoyance, only for it to escape and run under the door. Watching the scene with slight interest, Velixare noticed the woman was visibly holding herself back from marching through the door.
"He will see you now." she said, walking toward the stairs likely to vent her anger. Watching with slight confusion the man walked toward the room.
Opening the door he saw the only occupant with his back turned, looking out the window. The man had long grey hair, and his body was covered by a floor length black robe. As the man turned to the door, Velixare couldn't help but feel he was looking at a gentle old man.
Pushing the thought aside, Velixare couldn't help but be surprised at the act. It could easily fool those unaware. A mage does not rise to old age and become Headmaster of an arcane school without blood and power, and looking past the old man's facade, one clearly saw both.
The headmaster was the first to speak. "Ah the young man the princess wrote of, I assume?"
A hint of amusement flickered through Velixare as he responded, "I suppose so, though I wasn't aware of her phrasing." Motioning toward the desk and the presumed letter he continued. "I assume then my request was received?"
Nodding slightly Osmond answered, "To a certain degree." This response gained a questioning stare from the other man. "Of course certain conditions must be met before we can fully support the decision." Looking directly at Velixare, the old man glared with such fury, it was a wonder fire was not his element. "I care not what the princess says about you, but your presence is neither welcome nor wanted." Sighing softly Osmund returned to a more neutral stance. "Unfortunately without reason I am unable to openly deny her highness. As it is, you will remain within the Academy and granted access to our library. Make no mistake though, I will be watching you." The last part was said with complete conviction.
Nodding slightly, Velixares mood settled into its usual apathetic state. "Your threats are noted, if pointless. I merely seek the knowledge I require, for the moment nothing else here matters."
Nodding slightly at the answer, Osmond waved toward the door. "The library is open to you." Taking this as a dismissal Velixare quickly left the room.
Descending the stairs Velixare gazed out each window simply enjoying the view it gave. Halfway down he came to one that showed the students flying to their dorms, all save one. The pink haired girl walked with her familiar in relunctant towe. Watching the two Velixare unconsciously formed a fist. Something about the girl caused his mind to be wary.
The feeling while unpleasant was familiar, but he was unable to place it. Putting the thought to the side for the moment Velixare continued down, intent on finding the library. Losing his way once at the bottom of the tower, he found help.
"Centuries later and these daedra spawned places are still hard to navigate." Velixare muttered to himself. Standing at the end of a hall, he was trying to decide which direction to try. His musing came to a half when he felt something bounce off his back. Turning around he found a young woman, a maid judging from attie. She was currently on the ground rubbing her back from the fall.
As she opened her eyes to see who had been there the maids expression turned to shock. Standing up quicker than one could blink, she bowed. "Please forgive me, my lord."
Looking at the young woman, Velixare couldn't help remember his former lover. If she had been a vampire, the maid would have been a close twin to Serana.
Shaking the thoughts from his head, the man put his hand under the maids chin. "Raise your head child." Taking her que, the maid stood straight from her position. "What is your name?"
She seemed to hesitate a moment before answering, "Siesta my lord."
Watching the maids nervousness Velixare couldn't help but be drawn to her. It was a wonder that his jaw did not break, when a genuine smile formed itself. "Siesta, such a lovely name. Now my dear, I require your assistance to the library."
Averting her eyes Siesta replied, "Yes my lo…"
Wagging his finger slightly Velixare interrupted her mid word. "Nope, none of this my lord, got it?" His only response was a smile and a nod. "Good now let's be off".He began walking in a random direction.
Siesta seeing this, rushed behind. "The library is the other way." she said giggling slightly.
A/N OK so i'm not dead, felt like it for awhile though. Before somebody kills me again i do have a good reason for why this took so long. I was working two jobs for awhile and was doing close to 80 hrs a week, then after that i got a full time job that just sapped the life out of me. Add I was sick for a week and you can see where all my energy went. Anywho heres a chapter. and I've got almost half done with the next already so ya. Decided to add a challenge, If you can guess what Henrietta's familiar is before i reveal, you get an OC added. I am leaving a hint you just have to figure it out. Well cya next time, and all hail Sithis.
