Next chapter ~

"So... y=ax square + bx + c? I guess, and b^2 -4ac is the discriminant or something..." Keriko said, uncertainly. She was finally going through her first tuition session with Tsuna. After that scary incident, reborn had agreed to keep the sessions at the Hibari's house. Today's subject was math. Both of them had their heads down into the books, squinting at the letters as if it would help make the math any clearer.

"Man, even I don't understand this!" Yamamoto sighed. He had considerably better marks than the other two, but it wasn't like his case was exactly hopeful either.

"That's cos your brain has reached its limit already, baseball idiot." Gokudera snorted from his seat in the far corner if the room, reading an advanced science textbook.

Everyone turned to look at Gokudera, shock on their faces.

"Since when were you here?!" Keriko shouted, scurrying backwards, a dejavu experience to when she had first met Reborn.

He sighed and stood up slowly, before puffing out his chest and sticking his hands on his hips. "I was here twenty minutes before all of you. 'Had to check for landmines and the like before Jyuudaime came in." Gokudera said, a proud smirk donning his lips. I rolled my eyes and looked back to the textbook. Realizing that he wasn't being praised or anything, Gokudera shifted awkwardly on his feet before finally sitting down next to Tsuna, glancing at the textbook. He frowned at the page and shook his head worriedly. Keriko noticed this by chance and scowled. "What, are you too disappointed by this standard that you're actually worried?" She growled, clearly frustrated about her disability to do math. Gokudera looked stunned for a moment, before quickly hiding it with a smug smirk. "Whoa whoa girl, what are you getting so worked up about? It's JUST quadratic equations." He leaned forward, propping his chin up with his hand. Keriko felt a vein pop in her head and leaned forward as well, mouth pulling into a grin although not feeling pleased at all. "Oho... Seems like the steelhead thinks he's so smart huh. Well it's just TOO bad he doesn't know what the i-don't-give-a-damn theorem is."

"Hahhh?" Gokudera challenged, widening his eyes and glaring at the tomboy. "Wanna go at it? I bet I'm stronger." Leaning in more and sitting straighter, he was quite the intimidating sight. "How lowly of you to challenge a girl to fight, not only that, it was a feeble argument. We're talking about brains here, not brawn." Keriko rebutted, sitting taller as well.

"HAAH?!" gokudera sneered.

"HEEHHH." Keriko sneered back.

They kept trading insults and fierce glares.

"U-umm… guys… Let's concentrate on Math shall we? Ehehehe" Tsuna suddenly piped up hesitantly.

Snapping out of their verbal battle, they glanced at the shivering Tenth, seemingly just remembering they were there to teach and not argue. Yamamoto suddenly burst out into laughter.

"Maa maa, it seems like Keri-chan and Bad Temper kun are getting along just fine ne?" He drawled lazily. "Although don't you think things were getting a little too personal?" Yamamoto questioned innocently. His natural eye-smile somehow looked a little more cunning than usual.

Almost instinctively, the other three shrank back, and busied themselves with the books, mumbling formulas to themselves.

Yamamoto sat there blinking Huh? What was with that reaction? What was with MY reaction? I never knew I wanted to study math this much… Hmm? Are you sure it's because of that? Not the fact that you weren't there to save Keri-chan? A silky voice in his head whispered. No! I was only surprised that Gokudera would do something so selfless besides serving Tsuna. The voice continued, Oh, but you still want those eyes on you only right? Doesn't it hurt to have them looking elsewhere?

Yamamoto frowned and batted the air around his head, gaining curious looks from Keriko. Grinning, he mouthed "nothin's up" and scooted forward to the table to grab a pen and paper, burying his head in the books.

Meanwhile, wild thoughts were running loose through Gokudera's head. That was so scary I can't believe I'm thinking this. That Baseball idiot is up to something and it's got to do with Keri-cha—nopenopewrongname- Mushroom Girl. That's just so suspicious. Heck why am I even wrecking my brains out over that girl? All I did was save her once and she HUGGED ME oh my gosh I think I'm heating up gah something's wrong. Gokudera stop you're rambling and beginning to sound like a fangirrrrl. GASP. FANGIRL. NO WAY, I AIN'T GAY. Wait what, that has nothing to do with anything.

He violently shook his head and effectively slapped Tsuna in the face with his hair. Apologizing profusely, the bomber offered to teach his dear Jyuudaime all there is to alpha and beta. Looking concerned, Tsuna gave in and let Gokudera do what he wanted.

The end of the day came and Keriko saw them out the door. Hibari Kyoya stood at the gate, glaring at each of them as they left. Yamamoto lingered a little longer, speaking to Hibari at the gate before waving goodbye and jogging off into the setting sun.

Keriko did not hear what they discussed about, but was faced with a scowling Onii-san during dinner. "Don't get too close to any of those Herbivores, especially that Omnivore." He warned. Puzzled, Keriko wondered which one of them was the omnivore. Tsuna was definitely out, by her brother's standards, so that left Gokudera and Yamamoto. Yamamoto is strong I guess, and judging by today's scary encounter, he could have a hidden leader ability. That aura was not something any random group leader could come up with. Gokudera is fierce, and the loyal right hand man of the Boss. Technically he would have gained more respect as he's the closest to the boss, but Nii-chan wouldn't think that way. That means most likely the omnivore is Yamamoto. But why would Nii chan want me to stay away from him? He's just a friend! If anything, he should warn me about Gokudera! Eh? Why Gokudera?

Keriko spent all night thinking about this before tiring her mind out and falling asleep. Unfortunately, it seemed like all the math was pushed out of her head after that thought session.

So… That's the next chapter. I was wondering, would it be alright if I made a character gay? I mean I currently have a outrageous storyline in my mind and everything would click if I made that one character gay. This story is also going to be strictly Gokudera x OC despite the occasional fanservices of being surrounded by hot guys and stuff. Yamamoto is getting troublesome and kinda ooc I'm so sorry. Btw, I changed my pen name to AutowrongWriter cos I make A LOT of spellung mistaked yes I'll just leave that one there. Aha.
