Chapter Seven: Dungeon
"I'd like to register as an adventurer." said Bell with barely contained excitement.
"Please fill out this form" said the half-elf receptionist Eina Tulle while handing Bell a basic form that asked for the race, age, level, familia etc. of the aspiring adventurer. It also asked them to sign to say that if they die or are injured the guild is not responsible for the injuries.
Upon seeing that Bell was part of the Loki familia she let out a low whistle and said "It's been a while since the Loki familia has accepted someone who wasn't at least level two before joining." "I guess I'm an exception then." Bell decided to wait a week to explore Orario and wait for the fuss over his massive burst of flame to dissapate so nobody would expect it was him.
"Well Bell i'm going to be your advisor feel free to ask me any questions you have on the dungeon and I'll answer them to the best of my ability." "Ok then I look forward to working with you." "But remember Bell adventurers shouldn't go on adventures."
As Bell excited the guild and started walking toward the dungeon he realized something, he didn't have any armor. Shrugging and resolving himself to save up for some light armor and at long last entered the dungeon.
"AHHHHH" screamed the goblin as Bell opened a hole in its head with a combination of a pebble and wind. By shooting out a pebble and then boosting it with a contained, powerful burst of wind he could make it faster than the eye could see capable of piercing up to leather armor. If needed he can combine the pebble with ice hardening it and then shoot it to pierce even the hardest steel.
As he surveyed his surrounding he realized that he killed all of the monsters nearby he quickly picked up the crystal shards and put them in his pouch. He quickly descended the stairs into the fifth floor as nothing on the fourth could harm him. Once he got down to the fifth he started clearing it out methodically. He was starting to become disappointed with the dungeon. His fights came down to finding a monster shooting a pebble, then shooting a burst of wind to strengthen it. Deciding to go further down in hopes of something challenging him. Then he heard it "UUUUUUUWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" On some primal level the noise scared Bell. Knowing that he was stronger than most if not all of the adventurers on this floor he went in search of whatever made the noise. Perhaps this was because of his childish wish to become a hero, or because of his desire to be challenged in a fight.
What he saw confused him. A enhanced minotaur wielding a massive broadsword attacking some fleeing adventurers. Everything about this was wrong. It isn't unusual for a monster to move between floors but except for the deep levels nothing moved more than one or two floors however, this minotaur must have climbed at least 11 floors as they spawn at the 16th and 17th floor. Enhanced monster weren't that rare but normally only showed up in the middle floors and below. And a monster wielding a weapon other than the ones provided by the dungeon was unheard of, no not unheard of, unprecedented. Nevertheless this monster defied about a thousand years of adventurer knowledge in coming to this floor. In spite of this bell smiled. He couldn't use over the top moves or he might hurt the fleeing adventurers. This, this is what he was looking for! It would be a challenge!
"Enhance me, boost" Bell chanted to activate his level boost. He was going to fight this thing and he was going to win; because if he didn't people would die. First he tried using the pebble and wind combo. Unsurprisingly, this did nothing but annoy the beast which charged at him. Dodging the charge he shouted "Combine!" trying the icy pebble and wind combination on its retreating back. This drew a little blood but nothing damaging. This time the beast charged stopping short right in front of Bell and swung its gargantuan broadsword at Bell. He fluidly parried with his pistols angling the weapons so that the sword would go over his head. Shooting a strong wind at the beast to create some distance he shot two icy pebbles at the monsters eyes. It managed to dodge one but the other hit its target blinding one eye. The beast charged again but Bell dodged to its blind side shouting "Combine" and shooting the beast with a powerful bolt of flaming lightning dislocating one of its arms. Pressing his advantage he shot six rapid bolts of flaming lightning at the arm almost blowing it off completely but the beast blocked the last shot with his broadsword. When the lightning hit the blade it snapped leaving the monster weaponless and injured. The beast turned around and charged once again, but this time it was using its deadliest weapons...its horns. Realising what the beast was going to do once he broke its sword, Bell was ready for its charge. When the beast charged instead of dodging to the side he shot the ground with powerful bursts of wind to gain altitude and shot the beast in the back 1...2...3…4...5...6...7...8 times with bolts of flaming lightning before it hit its crystal core and the beast turned to ash dropping a crystal the size of Bells head. Picking up the crystal and smiling a radiant smile Bell returned to the surface with the stone under his arm.
