Sabre walked with his head up and a smirk on his face that only grew when people acknowledge him by Sabre. Rose walked behind with a bored expression on her face as she watched him act macho because he got a "cool" new name. The two of them passed two women who stopped and immediately started to swoon over Sabre.
"Oh my I can't believe it, it's the hero Sabre! We heard about your fight with the wasp queen and wondered if we could see it?" Sabre looked smug as he reached into his pack and raised it proudly boasting it as the two girls started cheering.
"Oh you're a real hero, you should come with us to Bowerstone we'll buy you a drink." Rose having enough grabbed Sabre by his collar and he turned his head to see her fuming.
"No thanks we should be going back to the Guild now, Sabre here needs to get his head back on track." Rose said. The two girls looked at her with venomous distaste but before they could say anything she was on her way with Sabre.
The hero in question felt himself be dragged off and could admit he WAS off track since losing that ridiculous name. However, that didn't warrant that look of anger on his companions face. He was about to ask why she was so pissed, when one of the girls talked loud enough for both of them to hear.
"Little redhead bitch needs to learn how to share, but probably hasn't even got his pants off with THAT look. A chicken wouldn't fuck her, even though they need the STD to avoid being chopped into food." With that, Rose stopped on the spot and Sabre shook his head, this was going to get ugly real soon.
She was about to turn on her heel but they both heard a voice coming from his pack. Sabre opened his pack and pulled out the Guild Seal and heard the Guildmaster's voice.
"My young hero, Maze said he needed to speak with you, he's waiting at the Bowerstone tavern." Sabre nodding at the message and put the Seal back in his pack while taking Rose by the hand. He dragged her as she glared at the two girls while sliding a finger across her throat with the hand her silent companion was holding. When they got down the hill to Bowerstone and arrived at the front of the gates Sabre let go of Rose's hand and started walking towards the entrance. Rose begrudging followed after him, walking through the entrance.
When the two made it inside Bowerstone they took in the initial sight of the town. People were, in a word, simple; they walked by one another, some holding boxes of products, others rushing around to different stores. There were stalls on their right that sold miscellaneous items, such as potions, choclates, rings, among other things. To their left was a house modeled shop that had a sign that resembled a blouse shirt.
The two walked into the town square and were then stopped by a guard, he was taller than average and wore a grey version of the guard uniform instead of the blue. His face was covered by the cap on his head except for his beard that connected with his side burns and merged with his mustache. "Alright you two, you know the rules, give up your weapons, they aren't allowed in Bowerstone." Rose was still sour from earlier and was about to refuse when Sabre easily grabbed her bow and arrows along with his sword in its sheath then handed them to the guard.
"Thank you for complying, and the way you look this is the first time the two of you been to Bowerstone, is that correct." Sabre nodded his head seeing as Rose had no desire to talk. "Well Bowerstone is a peaceful place, as such there are no weapons allowed inside, all weapons purchased or brought will be given to the guard post by the gates until you leave. The town is also made of two parts Bowerstone South, where we're in right now and Bowerstone North, where the higher society resides. You can only get in if you're well known enough or get a formal invitation from Lady Grey, the mayor of Bowerstone." Sabre nodded his head as he nudged Rose to pay attention.
"That's it all you need to know about Bowerstone…except for this personal tidbit. Beware Lady Grey, there are many reasons one shouldn't get involved with her, most who do are either publically executed or mysteriously disappears." Rose paid more attention at that little snippit, her mother once said about the mayor of Bowerstone, but it was so long ago she couldn't remember. With that the guard hurried back to the town square. The two continued after him when they heard someone calling them.
"Over here." The two looked over and saw Maze standing in front of a large building that they deduced to be the tavern. "I see you two took your sweet time, I was beginning to wonder if you were coming. I see your win over the Wasp Queen started your road to fame very splendidly but you should know there are dark forces gathering that would put your Wasp to shame." Sabre bowed his head at his old master while Rose had an irritated look on her face. 'Can't let us enjoy one victory can't he?'
"Well enough with the small talk there's a reason I called you two here, your sister is alive." Sabre froze as Rose looked confused. 'He has a sister?' It seemed she survived the burning of your village. Unfortunately, that's all I know, I only heard the rumor and thought you should know." Sabre stepped more forward as if intimidate Maze into divulging more information, however all he got was a glare for his attempt.
"Well I'll be off now, and boy..." Maze walked forward until they were almost nose to nose. "Don't make me break you" with that he disappeared a blue light.
Sabre started to shake with anger at Maze and started striding towards the entrance to Bowerstone. Rose had to pick up they're weapons since Sabre was too angry to think straight.
When they got past the gates and to a hill that had a statue in an intersection, Sabre stepped in front of the statue. For a second Sabre just stared art the statue, before slamming in his fist into the hard stone.
Rose was startled see cracks starting to appear in the rock and his fist was bleeding profusely. He Broke his hand. Gingerly she laid down the weapons and started to lightly step towards him. Just as she laid her hand on his shoulder, he quickly turned around and forced her against a tree, with his hand encasing her throat but not squeezing.
Rose gazed into his icy blue rage filled eyes. "I know you're angry, you just found out your sister alive and couldn't find anything else. You want to know if she's ok or where she is. Don't worry we'll find her just calm down."
Sabre seemed to get a bit more angered and started squeezing. 'What does she know my sister could be being raped right now or kill herself before i can save her, I NEED TO KNOW'
Rose noticed his eyes darken, and decided to give him something to think about. "My mother was raped and killed herself because of bandits, you know you're sister is alive, I know my mother is dead. You have time to save her but you need to calm down and become stronger. Then when we find her we can save her."
Sabre's eyes widened, he let go of Rose's throat and backed up. Rose seemed deathly calm but proceeded to him calmly. She gently held his hand and led him towards the bench next to the statue.
"Now are you going to stand around being angry or are you going to become stronger and save your sister?" Sabre nodded his head as she mended his hand.
