✧ Jacob's POV ✧

To say that I was pretty fucking shocked and excited when Seth came in and told me Ness was sitting in the foyer, is an understatement. I hoped she was here for me and not for her car. Part of me didn't think that she was though. We parted on good terms but she hadn't replied to my last couple of texts. I figured she wanted some time before talking to me again. It had been pretty overwhelming last time we saw each other.

I walked out of the small office and through the main garage, heading towards the foyer. For once it was actually not that loud here, we only had a couple of cars to service today. Usually with people coming through the dirt roads and going on trips through the forest, people want to service their cars and make sure they aren't going to get stranded anywhere.

I opened up the door and there she was. So beautiful, her auburn hair up in a bun, a white top that really shows her curves and some ripped jeans. She looked as perfect as she did three days ago. And just like that the feeling of constantly needing to be near her had vanished, she was here. Now. In front of me.

She's so clear to me. After so long of never being able to even look a at woman, I've finally found her again. My centre of gravity has finally found a place to stay and I'm not letting that go. Not like last time. Last time I didn't realise just how much she meant to me. Now that I've imprinted on her, I can safely say that I need her more than anything right now. I'm not saying that I only want to be with her because of the imprinting, I'm just saying that it has certainly clarified some things for me. It feels nice to be among the wolves who have imprinted. Sam did on Emily, Quil on Claire (took her a long time to come around), Jared did to Kim a girl in his class and Paul on my sister. God that was horrible. It took some time but I finally imprinted, the first one in a very long time too.

I always hoped to imprint on someone. Even ran half way across America to find new girls. Tried to force myself to imprint. It was my only hope of trying to forget Ness. Of course I always worried that when I did imprint I'd still love Ness instead of 'her'. I couldn't do that to someone.

It all seemed so silly though. Trying to force myself to imprint when I had so easily looked into Nessie's eyes and all of my life didn't matter. Those memories had no more meaning to me. I hate to say it but I couldn't stay away from her for too long. I would run to her apartment complex as a wolf and stay in the forest behind it. Just the physical closeness eased off some of the longing. I couldn't do that this morning though because it was my turn to patrol. There have been one or two nomads through the years, easily taken care of and no one knew had phased but we still like one person to be on watch. It's important to us. Especially since most of us have imprints to look after.

Speaking of imprints. "Renesmee?" I asked. She seems so dazed but instantly was brought back to reality. "Jacob!" she said in a sort of cheerful - sort of I don't want to be here, tone.

"Hey Ness, what are you doing here?" I asked again, walking around the counter and over to where she had been sitting. I wanted to get closer but I know I should keep my boundaries for now. I wouldn't want to scare her away especially seeing as she made an effort to see me.

"I uh, I have a favour to ask you Jacob." She said timidly. She really looked like she didn't want to be here. That kind of hurt but I was still eager to talk to her.

"Sure thing Ness, what's up?" I asked perkily.

"You had an advertisement online for a receptionist job, would I be able to apply?" She bent her head down, like a puppy in trouble.

Holy shit. A job. Here with me. I would be able to see her and talk to her everyday, she'd be in here with me. God I'd hire her on the spot if I could but I'm sure that'd be very unprofessional of me. It doesn't matter anyway, we're in desperate need of a book-keeper and non of the guys want to do it. I only do half the job and no one's applied in weeks, maybe months even. Not to mention she's my imprint, if she needs help I'm gonna to give it to her.

"Yes absolutely, you don't even need to apply. Let me just ask the guys." I signalled my finger as in 'a minute' and walked into the garage. "Hey boys! We got an applicant for the receptionist job. I'm just gonna hire her okay?!" I yelled out above the noise. Most of them nodded, some yelled back some "Okays." And that was about it until I yelled out, "By the way it's Ness!" And ran back inside, shutting the door behind me. From my wolf hearing I could still hear some "Whats?!" They obviously wanted to know what the hell was going on. They'd probably find out later on patrol anyway.

I turned back to Ness calmly. "Do you have any qualifications?" I asked. Not that she needed them it's just a little bit more helpful and would take up less time than training her. She handed me a piece of paper. "That's my résumé, I got a business degree when I went to uni." I scanned over her skills and qualifications, she was pretty perfect for this job. Over qualified actually.

"Why'd you do a business degree?" I asked. In high school Ness really didn't pay attention in class, she hated science but had a soft spot for it after she met me. I knew one thing for sure though, she absolutely hated anything business related.

"Well after I dropped out they didn't really offer much for me, like nothing. So I got a business degree. Not that it's done me much good." She chuckled to herself. I did feel bad for Ness, I never meant to cause her pain. Especially it affecting her life so long after what happened.

"So when can you get started?" I asked cheerfully, I didn't want her to dwell on the past anymore than she had to. She looked up at me smiling, there was some pain in her eyes but mostly she looked happy.

"Well I'm not doing anything right now." She smiled and for a long time I've been dying to see it again. She looks so beautiful when she smiles.

I led her around to the desk and Jesus. "Jake it looks like a bomb went off in here." Ness squealed. She wasn't quite wrong there. Paul did come in a week ago and phased in here when he couldn't hold his temper. Not to mention none of us are actually good at organising things. I had bought a filing cabinet when we started this place but I'm pretty sure the only things in there are spider webs and the receipt for the filing cabinet. The desk was an absolute mess, the were papers spewed across the desk. There was stationary everywhere and we didn't even have a computer. Paul had managed to break that as well.

Underneath all the clutter I heard the office phone start ringing, startling us both. "Shit." I muttered underneath my breath. "I got it." Ness said as she started moving the stuff around. She found it pretty quickly although I did let her. My wolf hearing would've found it way quicker.

"Good morning, this is Black's Motor and Auto Repair, how may I help you?" Ness said in a sweet tone. Wow she was good, most of us forget our manners.

"Oh let me just double-check with the boss." She turned to me and covered the bottom half of the phone with her hand. "Is friday 5 good for an engine check-up?" I nodded at her and crossed my arms over my chest. I could definitely get used to being called the boss. None of the guys ever did that, although some still call me alpha. Hmmm I'd like to be Ness' alpha.

"Okay that would be great. We'll see you then. Okay, thank you." She hung up the phone and popped it back in its holder. "That was pretty easy." She said smugly.

"Nice going Ness. Only some of the guys are working today, only Seth, Jared, Quil and Embry." I put my arm around her back and led her to the garage. I whistled and got their attention although they'd probably been listening to every word we'd said. Only half the guys were here today, when there aren't humans around we use our wolf speed to fix things up, hence why we have so little guys working today. Also Sam had to take care of his kids today and the others all had their days off.

They all walked over to us and I felt Ness tense up next to me. I whispered to her, "Hey its okay, they won't bite." It was a bit of an inside joke to say that to every imprint.

"Hey Ness! We've missed you so much!" Seth jumped around. He was in Ness' grade and was one of her friends, he was pretty upset when she dropped out. Especially when she wasn't there to help him through his dad's death. To say that he was happy she was around again was pretty accurate. I'm pretty sure he was the only one besides Claire that was allowed to see her after the abortion, per her request. She also demanded that Seth couldn't tell me anything that she said but having a hive mind in wolf form made it quite hard for him to keep her secrets.

I knew that she still loved me. I knew when she cried about me.

When I wasn't training for the fight, patrolling or actually fighting; I would always try to look out for her while keeping my space.

I remember one time I heard her deep in the woods. She had come back to our special place in the forest. She sat there crying, and just when it seemed like she didn't have anymore tears to shed, I had to leave. She needed a break. She definitely never wanted to see me again. Especially when I tried to call her and see her, Charlie was always there with his shot-gun telling me to stay away.

I don't know if she knows that he kept me from explaining myself. It was pretty painful when I went to her house and Charlie had finally told me that she left. He had kept me from her and now she was finally gone. I think it was for the best. I didn't know it at the time but I was meant to be with her, I imprinted on her. I didn't know that we were supposed to be. I think it would've confused her more if I did back then though.

"Hey Seth! Wow you're so big and- WHEN DID YOU GET A TATTOO?" She screamed. Oh yeah I might've forgotten to mention that.

"Ness calm down we all have it." I pulled up my sleeve to show her the wolf pack tats. She looked like a fish with her mouth hanging open, her jaw practically on the floor.

"WHY THE FUCK DID YOU GET A TATTOO?" She screamed again. Oh jeez this was going to be hard to explain.

"Ness baby please calm down." I said rubbing her arms up and down, trying to calm her some more. "Don't call me baby." She replied in a very stern voice.

I backed away some more, "Okay I'm sorry, shouldn't have said that. But please calm, please?" I pleaded with her, I couldn't stand to see her in distress.

"Okay but will you please explain the idiocy that you guys went through to get the same tattoo?" She huffed out. She crossed her arms across her chest, pushing her breasts up in the process. I couldn't help but stare. What? Can you blame me? I haven't done it since she found out she's pregnant and I really love Ness. "Jacob!" She demanded for my attention, I heard a couple of the guys snigger from behind me.

"It's really hard to explain, its kind of a pack, tribal thing." I stuttered out. God that sounded ridiculous.

"Jacob I went to the same school as you I'm pretty sure I'd know about some sort of tattoo initiation ritual that people in the tribe had to go through." She was getting fed up I could tell, but I couldn't tell her about the secret, not yet. She's not ready. I stepped closer to her and looked into her eyes. A couple of the guys said this works like a charm, but then again this is Ness.

"Ness just please believe me when I say that there is a reason for us getting them, but that's a story for another day. For now why don't we get you settled in." I said in a hopeful voice.

She sighed loudly but then relented. "Okay." She exhaled. "Alright, I need to go to the store quickly though, do you mind if I borrow some money?" She asked in a sweet voice. I was kind of scared of what she needed it for but I wasn't going to deny my love of anything.

"Sure sure, just let me get my wallet out of the back." I walked to the back area and grabbed Ness to come with me. Ness said goodbye to the guys and they'd gone back to work.

"And this is the last part of the tour I'm sorry to say." Inside the back area was a huge table with chairs surrounding it. "This is our lunch area." I pointed out to Ness. This was probably our third table. You see, Quil was a little hungry and stole Brady's lunch. Well you know how that story goes.

On the other side of the room are some beat up lockers we got from a junk yard. They worked just fine for us, they allowed us to put our phones, keys and wallets in there so we don't break or lose them when in the garage. The lockers are also helpful for keeping a spare pair of clothes in.

"Cool, looks nice, I like it." She wandered around a little bit while I headed over to my locker to give Ness my wallet. "Here you go." I said handing it out to her.

"You're just going to give it to me?" She asked in disbelief. I shrugged. "Well yeah, I trust you." And love you. I added in my mind. I wanted to say so much more to her but I scared her that first night. My Nessie wanted to take it slow, so that's what she going to get. Slow. Nice and slow.

I just needed her to admit she still had feelings for me before she completely shut me out of her life. And she did, we both know that we have feelings for each other, deep feelings at that. Now we just had to get used to each other again. More so for her than me but it's not like Ness imprinted on me. Not to mention she's been through something very emotional that's taken her a long time to get over… I only hope she can give this another chance.

"Thanks Jake." She awkwardly put her arms around me until I put my hands on her hips and squeezed a little more. I could hear her breath hitch, her heart constrict and I knew that fiery passion was still within her. "That's okay my sweetheart."

She pulled away, "Watch it." She warned me. I think it was supposed to be a stern voice but I knew she loved it.

"I'll be back in a few minutes." She stated and was out the door before I could blink.

She came back a little while later and told us not to come into the foyer for a while. We complied and got quite a few orders done today. Seth even got to work on his car that his been waiting so long for. It was a Chevy Impala and it had taken forever to ship here.

"Okay come in!" She yelled. She didn't have to yell but she did anyway. Jared was the first one in and I heard his surprised tone of voice. "Wow Ness this looks great."

We all followed him in and what we saw was wonderful.

Christ she had desk organisers, all the papers were gone, we actually had a computer in here. Oh look there's a landline in here. Everything was so neat and organised. There were some small plants in multicoloured autumn pots in the chair area for customers. She had put all sorts of stationary in pen holders. She had even uncovered our 'Open' sign.

"How did you do all this?" I asked in disbelief. I really hadn't given her this much money.

"Well I organised the papers and put them in the drawers. I brought my old laptop from home that I never use anymore, I got a couple of desk organisers and some stationary. The plants were more of just a decorative idea that I thought would spruce up the place." Ness smiled at us, obviously proud of her work.

God I can't wait to take her out.
