The Heart Is Deceitful

Chapter 7

Hello people. Sorry for this massive delay. I dropped my laptop a little ways back and so I was waiting for my new one to arrive, which it did a couple weeks ago. Also I had extreme writers block. But here's what I cooked up for you guys. It's a little rushed, but such is life. Hope you enjoy it ^_^

Vivica gave a light murmur when she began to wake up. She felt warmness envelope all around her and she smiled. Madara was holding her protectively against his chest. She giggled when she heard his fairly loud snores. Then she blushed at the memory of last night. She let Madara try again. After a month of trying to redeem himself she trusted him once again, and wanted to give him some type of reward for being so attentive to her. She was horrifically scared, almost to the point of hyperventilating, and passing out, but Madara did everything he could to make her feel at ease. He told her he would be gentle, and that was exactly what he did. And in the end they both felt bliss. Vivica heard Madara groan and he slowly opened his eyes. He sat up and yawned then looked down at her. He gave her a tired smile.

"Good morning. How are you feeling?"

"I'm a little sore from last night, but other than that I feel wonderful." He smiled and then leaned down and kissed her. Vivica wrapped her arms around his neck to bring him in closer. Madara felt her stomach brush against him, and he pulled back and gave her a questioning look.

"Vivica I've been meaning to ask you something. Why is it that...you're developing so quickly?" She frowned.

"What are you trying to say? That I'm fat?" Madara quickly shook his head.

"No! No! Of course not, it's just that you're only 2 months pregnant. It's just startling to me that you're this…uh-."

"Big already?" She finished for him and he awkwardly scratched his head.

"Well yeah. It looks as if you are already 4 months along. But my question is why?" Vivica sighed.

"That is something that I have been trying to find out as well. The medics that examined me said that the baby is rapidly absorbing my chakra, and feeding it to itself. I would think that this is how it's growing so fast." Madara's eyes widened.

"Are you ok? The baby's not hurting you is it?" Vivica giggled.

"Of course it's not hurting me. As long as I continue to mediate and build up my chakra I'll be fine."

"Good to hear. And Vivica…" He gently grasped her chin so she would look up at him.

"Don't hesitate to tell me anything if something is wrong. Just know that I'm always here." She gave him a warm smile.

"I will I promise." Madara purred and started to trail kisses from her jawline down to her neck, then he began to bite and suck on her sensitive flesh. This caused a small mewl to come from Vivica, making him growl.

"Do you wish to repeat our night over again?" He said in a seductive tone. It was very tempting, but she shook her head and lightly pushed him away. He frowned at this.

"Not right now Madara. Have you forgotten that you have a mission today?" He sighed.

"And here I just wanted to spend some more time with you…" Vivica laughed and poked his cheek.

"Don't sound so sad. You spend way too much of your time with me anyways. It'll be good for you to get a break." Madara smirked and pushed her onto her back then went on top of her.

"I don't want a break. I have all the time in the world for you." He then smashed his lips on hers. He snaked his arm around her waist and pulled her flush against him. She moaned into his mouth when she felt him slowly slide himself inside of her. She broke away from his lips.

"Why are you are so persistent?" Madara smirked but said nothing. It looked as if he were waiting for something. After a minute he slid himself out of her before going right back in. Vivica groaned in pleasure and then grabbed a fistful of his hair.

"Make it fast you pestering idiot. You don't want to be late."

Madara came out of the room with a small smirk on his face. He then slid the sword that he had into the sheath attached to his belt. When he went past a corner Izuna slammed into his body.

"OOF!" Izuna fell onto the floor with a loud thump. Madara couldn't help but laugh at him.

"Oh my dear little brother. Haven't I told you no running in the halls?" Izuna scowled and stood up, getting in his brothers face.

"Shut up aniki! Everyone is at the gates waiting to depart, but we were stuck there waiting for you! What took you so long?" Madara smirked and then crossed his arms.

"Let's just say that I got a little preoccupied with something else."

"Or Vivica-samaaaaa." He said in a singsong voice. Madara grunted and pushed him away by his face. Izuna fell off the ledge and landed on his bottom once again.

"Asshole…" Madara waved him off with his hand.

"Quit your complaining Izuna and let's hurry up go."

"H-Hurry up and go?! How dare you say that to me! You are the one making things go off schedule!" Madara paid him no mind and walked away towards the gates. Izuna huffed before getting up and running up by his side.

When they reached the gate there were five ninjas standing there. When they saw Madara and Izuna they bowed respectively. Madara gave them the signal to rise.

"We were hired by a lord located in the fire country to eradicate a small army of supposed enemy ninja. The mission is quite simple, thus I only brought five of you. Although I do hope that you have all prepared yourselves for we will not be stopping anywhere along the way." They all nodded in response. One Uchiha ninja stood up.

"Madara-sama. Who is the lord that we'll being doing this for?"

"Tamotsu."

"Lord Tamotsu? Didn't we have several issues in the past regarding him? Why in the world are we helping him?" Izuna spoke out to his brother, who then just nodded his head.

"Yes. However he is paying us a large amount of money that I couldn't pass up. We need money in order to preserve the survival of this clan. You do understand that right Izuna?" Izuna scratched his head.

"Well yeah of course…but what if this is all a setup aniki?"

"I highly doubt it. If he does anything to betray our trust then I have every right to kill him now don't I?" Izuna remained silent, keeping all his thoughts to himself. Madara looked at the rest of his men.

"Let's go now. I want to get this over with as soon as possible." He then started to run off, with Izuna and his men following right behind him. Unknown to Madara there was a man sitting in a tree high above watching as they left. He smirked.

"Perfect timing. Now I can investigate what that immense chakra is without that dog watching." He disappeared in a blink of an eye.

Vivica put a cloth down on the grass and situated herself on top of it. She crossed her legs in the lotus style and breathed in deeply, then let it exhale out of her mouth. She then clasped her fingers together and started to let meditate, and let her chakra flow throughout her. She felt restored as the chakra filled her, and she couldn't help but sigh. She thought about all of the good that had been coming into her life. Madara, the baby, all of the new friends she had made in the compound. It was a great feeling and this allowed her to relax even more. Everything was moving in the right direction again. But not for long. All of a sudden the air around her grew cold, and it pricked at her skin. She snapped her eyes open. She noticed that her breath left a fog in the air.

"What is going on?" She rubbed her skin. How did it go from being warm to freezing? She got up from her spot and looked all around. Everything was eerily quiet as if everything had stopped what they were doing. No birds singing, no distant chattering of the people. Nothing.

"Hello?" She walked up to the doors and opened them. No one was there. The guards that were supposed to be there were not in their spots. Odd.

"Matsu? Jun? Are you in here?!" She called out to the guards, but to her dismay no one answered. Just the cold silence. She shivered. Something is wrong. Horribly wrong. She closed the door, and walked back outside. She was baffled. She wanted to know what is happening.

"Hello! Please someone answer me!"

"No one is going to hear you." A venomous voice said. Vivica whipped around when she heard that voice. She saw a man in his mid-20s standing in front of her. He had pure white hair that was spiky, even more than Madara's, and it was in a high pony tail. And his skin was extremely pale, as if he had no life coursing through him, but what struck her was his eyes. They were snakelike, and cold. She stepped back.

"Who are you?" The man gave her a devious smile.

"The question is…who are you?" She frowned.

"Don't switch the questions onto me. Who the hell are you and what are you doing here?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Such attitude for an Onna (woman). Who I am I will reveal in due time. As for my being here, it's because of you."

"Me?" To her discomfort he went closer to her. All she could do was stand there.

"There is an immense, and dangerous chakra radiating off of you. And I am just merely curious. For I desire power, and it's only natural that I'm attracted to it." He grabbed a strand of her long silky dark hair and sniffed it. She jumped away from him.

"Piss off you weirdo! I am gladly taken by another man. And what have you done to everybody?!" All the man did was smirk.

"Well as for your pitiful little guards, I disposed of them. You can find their bodies broken up into little pieces in one of the rooms. And I've killed anyone in the vicinity that was close by to my target." She felt her eyes sting, and she clenched her fists.

"Why? Why are you doing this?!" She gasped when he came at her in a flash and had her pinned onto the side of the wall with his hand clenched around her throat. He was now glaring at her with his snake like eyes.

"How is it that a woman, a weak and pitiful wench such as you hold such power?! I want it. I need it." His voice was thick with jealousy. He dug his fingers into her skin.

"I don't, know what you're talking about!" She rasped out. He narrowed his eyes at her. Then he leant close to her. She shivered at his close proximity. His fangs elongated and he bit her neck harshly. She screamed as she felt him suck her blood. She scratched, and punched at him but he wouldn't move. Blood was oozing from her neck, and going down her shirt. His eyes widened and he pulled away sharply and began to cough. She fell to her knees, whimpering. The man glared at her with his demonic eyes. The blood that he had drank had begun to burn like a wild fire within him, causing him immense pain. And there was only one clan that had that effect on him.

"Woman you have Senju blood coursing through your veins."

"S-Senju?" She wondered how that was even possible. Although she never knew what clan her mother was from, and had never asked her. But how did he know what clan she was just by the taste of her blood?

"Just what are you?!" She screamed out at him. He gave her a blank stare.

"I...do not know what I am." He looked up at the sky in thought. He had a glint in his eyes.

"But I know that in the future…I will transcend all. And I will make all of humanity and the ninja world pay."

"What has humanity…ever done to you?" He glared at her, and she began to regret her choice of words. He snatched her hair and pulled her up off of the ground. She cried out, and this aggravated him even more.

"What has humanity ever done to me you ask? They've done everything! They stripped away everything living thing that I've ever cared about, and loved! They took it all away right in front of my eyes. They took away my hopes, my dreams, and my future! And now…Now I want to do the same for them. I want to inflict despair among all of them as they have done to me." All she could do was stare at him, with tears falling down her face. She couldn't respond to what he had just said. He gave her a sinister smile.

"You…have probably never experienced it. In all of your years you had probably had a life in which you were spoiled, and never had a bad moment." His features went dark.

"Allow me to share withyou what despair really is." He then shoved his hand into her chest. Her eyes widened. She looked down and saw that he had impaled his whole entire arm through her. She coughed up blood, and her vision began to get blurry. He then took his arm out of her and she fell onto the ground. He gave her an evil sneer.

"Pleasant dreams." Her whole entire world went black.

Vivica snapped her eyes open, and she sat up. She cringed and put a hand to her head when she felt a migraine hit her hard. After a moment of the pain she opened her eyes only to see nothingness. Her whole entire world was black. She could only think of that man.

"Where are you?! And where have you taken me?!" Her voice echoed throughout the vast area of blackness. Empty. And hollow. After several minutes she saw a small light shimmer in the darkness. Vivica began to slowly walk towards it.

"Please let this be the way back." She prayed to herself, just hoping to be back home. The closer she went to the light, the bigger it became. All of a sudden it engulfed her completely. She had to shut her eyes because of how bright it was. She then heard birds singing, and the laughter of children. She opened her eyes.

"Come on outou-san! Keep up with me otherwise I'll leave you behind!" The girl giggled. A little boy around the age of 7 came teetering along. Vivica gasped as she saw the familiar features of her killer. His hair was pure white and spiky, but it was short. She knew it was him because of his eyes. Except they were warm.

"Hold on nee-chan! Stop going so fast!" He was carrying a huge pile of wood, and looked as if he were struggling. She saw him trip on a stone and begin to fall. Vivica didn't know what compelled her to move but she ran up to the boy and try and catch him. Her eyes widened when she saw him pass right through her body. He landed on the ground with a thud, and all the wood clattered everywhere around him.

"Brother!" The girl ran up to him and helped him up. He had a scrape on his arm that was bleeding. But after a second it began to heal. The girl smiled, and began to pick up some wood. It was as if she just dismissed what happened.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have made you carry all of that on your own." The boy dusted himself off.

"It's alright. I was just being clumsy." He picked up the remaining wood and situated it in his arms. They smiled at each other and began walking. Vivica watched as they walked away. She was confused.

"Hey! Can you hear me?!" She tried to reach out to them, but they kept on their merry way. She then came to the conclusion that she couldn't be seen or heard. She was merely an invisible force in this world that she was stuck in. She sighed. Not knowing what else to do at this point she just followed them in their tracks.

When she followed them she wounded up in a small village. The people all around had stands, showing off their produced goods from crops, and cloth, and arts to be sold. So this wasn't a village with ninjas then. Just to test out if she was invisible or not she went up to a stand. A man was sitting there sorting out his basket full of vegetables.

"Uh, hello? Can you see me?" She asked in a timid tone, sounding absolutely foolish, but not to her surprise the man did not acknowledge her. She sighed once again, and turned away. She looked down the small road and saw the children enter a shed. She ran to keep up with them, and she too entered the hut. Upon entering she saw a woman sitting down at a table cutting up vegetables, and putting them into the pot filled with broth, and other herbs. She looked like the little girl, so she assumed that this was her mother.

"Hello mother!" The girl shouted. The woman looked around and she smiled at her.

"Hi Reiko! What have you been up to?"

"Oh, me and brother got us some more firewood. I saw that we were running low anyways." The mother looked behind Reiko and looked at the boy. He was holding the wood close to his chest, and was looking away with a blush on his face. She laughed.

"Mikami, come out behind your sister. There is no need to be shy." He nervously swallowed, and walked from behind Reiko. The mother then motioned for Mikami to come by her and he slowly did.

"Hai Aika-san?" The woman laughed and poked his forehead.

"I told you to quit calling me by my name Mikami."

"B-But."

"No buts. I am your mother now, so refer to me as so okay?" She smiled at him with a warm smile. Mikami's lips began to quiver, and his eyes began to fill up in tears. They then began to spill over and run down his cheeks. Then he dropped the wood he had in his arms, and wiped his face. Aika stood up and then embraced him tightly.

"M-m-mother! Mother. Mother." He kept muttering into her chest. His tears leaving her clothes damp. She smiled and held him closer.

"I will always be here for you." The world then went dark again, and Vivica was now sitting in the blackened room once again. But she was not alone. She turned her head to see the familiar white haired man standing a couple feet from herself. He had a blank expression as usual but she could see a hint of sadness behind his eyes. Being the gentle person that she was, wanted to comfort him in some way.

"Your mother and sister…seemed like really nice women." Vivica said softly, but Mikami just gave out a pitiful laugh.

"Aika and Reiko were like a dream come true to me."

"How so?" Mikami closed his eyes.

"All of my life I was walking on an empty road alone. I never knew who my real parents were, so I was left just wondering. I was beaten almost every day by the civilians that live within the village. Just because I looked…a little different. Deemed a monster, and not a human being. So it was only inevitable that I began to resent them as they did for me."

"Since I had no home of my own I did what I could to survive. Anything to sustain. But then they came. They took me into their home, and raised me as best as they could. Then they themselves were shunned out of their village just because they had decided to let me stay with them."

"That's…awful. But what of the village I saw you in, within the vision?"

"That was the new place we decided to dwell in. The villagers were kind, and accepting. They did not care what I looked like…and they treated me with respect. Something that never in my life I had received. They were like my family." Vivica smiled at him. But that smile immediately faded when she saw his facial expression. Complete rage.

"M-Mikami? What's wrong?"

"Them." She was confused, but stepped back in fear when he looked up at her.

"Those fucking bastards took them all away from me!"

Izuna itched the top of his head. He looked around at all the other ninja in his group and saw that they all looked weary, chattering among themselves. Madara kept walking ahead, holding the large bag of ryo minding his own business. Izuna huffed and walked up to him.

"Hey brother?"

"Hm?"

"I can't help but wonder…why are we being paid so much for such an incredibly easy execution?" Madara noticed this too. Something wasn't right, but he couldn't pinpoint what was amiss.

"I do not know, but I do agree with you. I find it all too strange…"

"Whatever the case, we should hurry up and get to the-."

"MADARA-SAMA!" Madara snapped his head in the direction of the scream. A half scared to death Uchiha ninja ran up to him and bowed down, and his shivering intensified. Madara grabbed him by his arm and pulled him up.

"Never mind that bowing down crap! Tell me what the issue is!"

"I-I was out doing my rounds in the compound, and I saw many dead bodies, destroyed beyond recognition! It was horrible leader-sama! I tried to find you as soon as I found them!" Madara scowled.

"Someone got into the compound while we were gone it seems. How the hell could you have not sensed someone intruding on our grounds fool?!" Madara spat with contempt.

"I-I'm sorry! It won't happen again I promise!" Madara sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. He was pissed that some of his clan members were slaughtered.

"How many?" He asked with his eyes closed.

"13 sir."

"This is so degrading. Who was strong enough to defeat that many Uchiha?" He began mentally searching for someone who could possibly do this. No Senju other than Hashirama could kill that many within a blink of an eye, but he cast that thought away because he would never do such a thing. Nothing. No one else came to mind. He scrunched his eyebrows together in frustration. Like a punch in the face something came into his mind.

"Is Vivica alright?" The man paled at the mention of her name. Madara's heart thudded oddly in his chest. He pulled the man by his shirt.

"What the hell are you remaining silent for?! I asked you a damn question! Is she okay!?"

"I don't know what's wrong with her Uchiha-sama! I found her on the ground twitching, and she won't wake up!"

"Damn it!" Madara threw the man aside and ran off in the direction of the compound. Izuna hauled the abandoned money over his shoulder and looked behind him.

"Let's go guys! Follow Madara!" They all left leaving the fallen man behind.

When Madara entered the compound people were swarmed around the garden area. He ran and pushed his way through all of them, and saw what was catching their attention. Vivica was not twitching, but thrashing wildly on the ground.

"Vivica!" Madara quickly kneeled down next to her and pulled her to his chest. She was whimpering and making pained noises. Madara slid his hand into hers and she crushed it in a death grip.

"P-p-please stop." She cried out. Madara brought her closer.

"Vivica? Can you hear me?" Concern was etched on his face. Tears were spilling out of her closed eyes.

"Help me. M-Madara." His eyes widened in realization.

"Madara!" Madara kept his gaze glued on to Vivica's shivering form, not bothering to look up at the sound of his approaching brother. Izuna pushed himself through the large crowd and went by Madara. He looked down at Vivica with worry.

"Madara, what happened to Vivica-sama? Is she alright?" Madara with each second was growing angrier. He shook his head.

"She is under a genjutsu." Madara put her down and did a hand sign.

"Release!" Her eyes snapped open and she began to scream, and she threw punches in random directions. She managed to scratch Madara across the cheek and managed a blow to his chest, but he did not budge. He caught both her wrists in one of his hands, but she continued to struggle against him.

"Vivica stop! It's me!" His call didn't seem to affect her, and she growled out and tried to kick him, but he pinned himself on top of her and she was thrashing wildly beneath him trying to get loose. Madara scowled and with his free hand slapped her hard across the face making her head snap in the direction of the force. The crowd all gasped and held in their breaths.

"Brother How could-!?"

"Shut the hell up Izuna!" Madara spat. Izuna kept his mouth closed and just looked on. Madara turned his head back in Vivica's direction when he heard her groan. Her struggles began to slowly cease, and the blankness in her eyes faded. She blinked a couple of times so that her vision could refocus. She hurt everywhere.

"Vivica?" She slowly turned her head, and looked up at the man above her.

"Madara..." She took note of the scratch mark on his cheek and went to lift her hand up to wipe the blood, but she felt a sharp jolt of pain in her neck and she clutched it trying to make the pain go away.

"Vivica?! What's wrong?!"

"It's M-Mi-kami!" Then she blacked out again, and went limp in his arms.

"Madara stop! Madara I said stop now!" Izuna grabbed Madara's shoulder stopping him from moving. He looked back at his brother with contempt, but this did not faze Izuna.

"I know what you're going to do and I'm not going to let you do it."

"This Mikami touched what is mine and there's no way I'm going to let him live."

"You don't even know who he is!"

"I may not…but I bet a certain lord knows. Mikami set me up, and the perfect way to lure me out of the compound was through that worm Tamotsu. The fool was probably threatened by him, so he couldn't deny. I will make him talk."

"But-!"

"And if he refuses me…I burn everything he is on to the ground."
