Sammy unlocked his front door with a small smile on his face as Henry waited patiently behind him. The two had managed to get to Sammy's place without any struggles, unlike many times before with either Susie or Joey questioning them, even occasionally Wally. They hadn't had the easiest time having time alone together outside of lunches, and even then they weren't completely alone. Thankfully no one seemed to be needing them tonight so the two felt that this was their chance. Once inside and insuring the door was locked behind them, Henry let out a relived sigh, set down his brief case, and hung his coat up on the coat rack. Sammy smiled at him before walking over to his kitchen counter and setting his things down on top, not feeling up to doing anything more. This caused Henry to chuckled.
"That's not like you."
Sammy turned around to look at the animator and gave an annoyed smirk, "Don't push your luck Henry."
Henry laughed and shook his head, "You say that all the time Lawrence, you can't believe that I take it seriously anymore."
Sammy hummed thoughtfully for a moment, his brows knitting together slightly before his face relaxed and he shook his head, "Suppose not."
Henry rolled his eyes and walked over to the musician, "So what plans do you have for tonight?"
Sammy glared slightly, "We never made plans Henry."
"True, doesn't mean we can't make plans now."
Sammy looked down at the smaller man in front of him and shook his head smiling, "I think we should figure out what to do about dinner."
Henry nodded, thinking about it for a moment, "We could always go to that restaurant we tend to go to."
"You mean Musso and Franks or the other place? We only go to two restaurants Henry." Sammy smirked
"Well those are the best!"
"You wouldn't survive living in New York, you can't live off two restaurants Henry." The musician teased
Henry frowned, "Are you saying I can't waste my money on fancy food?"
"No I'm just saying you won't have money for long if you do."
Henry smirked, "Guess it's a good thing I can cook."
Sammy blinked, his over cocky smirk quickly turned to a look of surprise. "What are you a woman?"
Henry laughed, "You wish. No my mother thought that it would be a grand idea to know how to cook while I was on my own. She probably didn't know that it would become useful."
"And why's that?"
"Well for one, I have no interest in women, and secondly, you don't look like a woman either."
Sammy's face flushed darkly, "Are you implying something?"
"Only if you want me to be." Henry winked, walking into the kitchen
Sammy stood there, staring at where Henry just was, his eyes wide. He turned around, watching Henry look through his fridge for items to cook. He quickly got a hold of himself, clearing his throat slightly in annoyance before walking over to Henry's side. The animator noticed this and glanced up at him, a small frown on his face.
"Is something wrong?"
"Sammy how often do you eat? There's barely anything edible in here!"
Sammy's eyes widened, quickly looking away from the other man. He didn't even have to say anything for Henry to realize that he didn't really eat outside of their outings together almost every day. He stood, closing the fridge and staring at the taller male in both worry and shock for a moment before gently taking his hands. Deciding it would be best if he didn't ask questions, Henry kept silent for a few moments, gaining Sammy's attention once more. He took a deep breath, looking up at the musicians gaze.
"Come on, let's go get something to eat..."
Sammy smiled sadly and nodded, silently thanking Henry. "Alright, lead the way then." His voice shook slightly.
Henry returned the look, walking back over to the front door to grab his coat. As much as he'd rather spending a dinner alone with just the two of him, he'd rather get Sammy some food. Sammy followed, still slightly shaken from the event that just conspired. He sighed, gaining Henry's attention once again and earning a worried look as the other put his coat on. Sammy only shook his head, not sure if he could bring himself to speak at the moment, a small smile forced itself onto his face. This seemed to relax the animator and the two left for what ever restaurant Henry had mentally chosen to go to.
Once inside things became a little worse then before, now Sammy had completely closed up, not a single word was spoken from him no matter how hard Henry tried to start up a conversation. The musician was just silent and it worried Henry to death.
"Sammy please say something... I'm worried about you..."
Sammy set down his fork, keeping his eyes on his plate silently.
"God dammit Lawrence please! Talk to me! We've known each other for five years! We've spent the last two years getting to know each other better! I know when your not yourself and tonight is simply one of those moments. I want to help."
Sammy looked up at the other in surprise, a small blush coating his cheeks. He let out a small sigh and shook his head.
"Henry... Can we just talk at home..."
Henry's eyes widened but he nodded. "Alright..."
