I'm awoken with loud chatter and music coming from my living room. Of course Kate and Mia would already be awake, and probably halfway done with their hair. I rip the comforter from my body, and crawl out of bed.
Makeup and bobby pins lay scattered across my coffee table. Meanwhile, the two of them remain seated having their hair done. I ignore them and head straight into the kitchen making myself some tea.
"You look dead." José says, announcing his presence.
"Thanks." I reply, focusing at the task at hand.
"Why haven't you started getting ready? Have I taught you nothing?" he mutters, shaking his head.
"I just woke up, and I'm in no rush."
"Oh come on. I'll help you get started." José ushers me into the living room and pushes me into a chair.
"What are you doing?" I ask.
"Shhh.. I'm in creative mode right now. Let me work." I roll my eyes, and lean back into my seat.
My cell phone rests charging next to me, and I decide to text Liam. Just to see what he's up to, and to have my full concentration on him and our relationship.
*HEY THERE STRANGER*
In two minutes, my phone dings with a reply from him.
*I WAS JUST THINKING U*
I read his text and choose to tease him.
*IT IS AN INTERESTING LETTER..*
He replies almost instantly.
*YOU'RE IN A GOOD MOOD. :) BUT I HAVE BUSINESS TO FINISH.. SEE YOU SOON.*
*I'LL BE THE ONE IN RED!*
*RED IS MY NEW FAVORITE COLOR ;)*
I giggle, and place my phone away from me. Things with Liam are going great, more than great. But Kate's nagging voice is in my head, asking a million questions. Like this one for example, "When are you two going to have sex"? And I don't know the answer to it. I'm scared.
I've only been with one man and it was out of this world. But I'm just nervous to see how it would be with Liam. Yes, I really do like Liam and want to make this relationship work. So I'm making tonight the night. The night where I have sex with Liam.
My doorbell rings, and I bite my lip anxiously. I look at myself in the mirror one last time and walk towards the door. Glancing over my shoulder, my living room is all clean and spotless from earlier. I take a deep breath and open the door. Wow. Liam stands handsome in a nice, sharp tux.
"You look.. So beautiful." he mutters, and I blush.
"And you look hot." I say, without thinking. Liam chuckles and I shake my head.
"Shall we?" He holds out his hand.
"We shall."
We arrive into the event, and Liam immediately gets pulled into a business conversation. I kindly excuse myself, trying to find Grace and people I know. But as my eyes dance around the room, they find a pair of gray eyes. Of course. There he is. The first person to teach me that I'm worth nothing, and everything.
Christian's talking to a group of men, but his eyes never leave mine. I watch him set down his drink, and starting to make him way towards me. But before he can come close to me, Carla cuts him off.
"Anastasia, darling!" she exclaims, yanking me into her arms. "You look absolutely gorgeous."
"Thank you, Carla." I reply. She rolls her eyes. Do you see where I get it from?
"I'm you mother. So you call me mother, Anastasia." Carla scolds me.
"Oh yes, mother." I say bitterly.
"Why do you have to say it like that? You have to like me, I gave birth to you." I sigh, and Kate swoops in to save me.
"Carla, you look stunning." My mother blushes and smiles widely like a adolescent teenager.
"You're too kind, Katherine. You look beautiful, both you girls do."
"Where's dad?" I ask out of the blue.
"Last time I saw him he was discussing politics with Carrick." Carla states, waving her hand and wanting to change the subject. "So Katherine, who are you seeing now these days?"
"Elliot Grey." she answers, and my mother's eyes widen.
"One of New York's most eligible bachelor's?" Kate nods. "And how's that going?"
"Well, I have a sexy hot man who loves to fuck me, and I'm fabulous. My nipples are just hard thinking about him." Carla's mouth drops open, and I can't hold back my laugh. Kate is the only one I know who would talk to Carla like that to make her uncomfortable and I love her for that.
"Now if you'll excuse me. I must find my delicious man." Kate flashes a smile and disappears behind my mother.
"Anastasia, stop laughing. It's not attractive. And I'll be back later to discuss how you and Liam are doing." She whispers angrily, and stomps away from me.
Oh my God, I can't stop giggling. I turn around, and run into something or someone hard.
"Why hello, Anastasia." I glance up to find Christian, and he looks absolutely handsome in a Armani tux.
"Christian. Hi." I mumble, not thinking of any coherent words.
"You look breathtaking." he says, licking his lips like he wants to devour me.
"Why thank you. You certainly dress to impress." Christian chuckles and shakes head.
"Oh no, baby. I undress to impress." I roll my eyes.
"Of course you do."
"So where's the famous Liam?" he asks, and I shrug.
"He was talking to some business men, but I don't know."
"And he left you to fend for yourself? What a dick." My eyes widen.
"Christian! I excused myself and left. He did not leave me." I explain, and he rolls his eyes.
"If you say so." Christian whispers. I sigh. Silence becomes us, and our eyes connect. "So how are you?"
"I'm fine, thank you." He raises an brow, and I shrug. "Really."
"Liar. Wanna try that again?" I close my eyes and pinch the bridge of my nose.
"I'm exhausted, stressed, and I've missed you." I reveal. His eyes lighten up.
"Of course you did." Now it's my turn to roll my eyes. I open my mouth to respond, but a voice calling my name interrupts us.
"Ana! There you are. I've been looking all over for you." Liam exclaims, coming to stand between Christian and I.
"You found me." He nods, turning to look at Christian.
"I don't think we've met, I'm-"
"Liam Butterfield. I know who you are."
"Oh, fantastic." Liam says bitterly and I feel the tension in the air. "Ana, babe, let's go to our table." He wraps his arm around my waist, and I can feel Christian's eyes on Liam's hand stroking my hip.
"Of course. I'll meet you there in a minute." I answer, and he leaves me with a long kiss. Probably in spite of Christian.
"Like I said before, what a dick." Christian voices. My eyes widen and I slap his shoulder.
"You're so arrogant, you know that?"
"So they tell me." I roll my eyes.
"Can't you just be happy for me?" I exclaim, and he sighs.
"Of course I can, but just not with him."
"Why not?"
"Because he doesn't deserve you." he murmurs, and I look down.
"Then who does?" I whisper. Christian reaches forward and lifts up my chin.
"Not him, and definitely not me." I let out a fake laugh and step back.
"I should get back to my table. I'll see you around."
I turn around and stride right away from him. Well that definitely was a knife to the heart, but I take a deep breath and continue walking. As I approach my table, I find Kate and Elliot canoodling in their seats, but with Liam nowhere to be found. That's odd because I said I would meet him back right here.
"Kate! Where did Liam go?" I ask, setting my purse onto my seat. She removes herself from Elliot's embrace giggling and stares at me.
"Oh. Some blonde came up to talk to him and he pulled her aside." she replies, and I squint my eyes confused. What blonde? I nod, smiling meekly. Where could've he gone to with some blonde and doing what?
Christian's POV
I hate seeing Ana hurt; but the thing I hate the most is that I'm the one that caused her to be. As she walks away from me, I can't help but admire her backside and miss the feeling of it. Eight days without Ana has been absolute hell. Every second of every day all my thoughts were of her. What was she doing? Is she sad, happy, angry, tired or does she even miss me as much as I miss her? I really hope she did.
Having all those feelings of longing for someone is something I've never experienced before. It was quite unusual not being able to call her and see how her day was or laugh over something crazy Carla has done recently. I missed Ana like crazy period.
I head towards the bathrooms before dinner, but on my way I hear loud voices down the hallway. Out of curiosity, I slowly walk by and the door is creaked open. I spot Liam first running his fingers through his hair, but then I see a blonde appear before him running her fingers down his chest.
"When can we be together?" she pleas, making a pouty face. Liam sighs and strokes her face.
"Baby doll, you know this. When I have all of Chief Steele's endorsements from the police department to back me up running for mayor of New York, and then I'm finally elected. I'll get rid of his prude of a daughter and it'll be just the two of us." he reveals. It takes everything in me not to go in there and kill him.
"You promise?"
"Of course." Liam leans down and catches her lips in a disgusting kiss.
I back away from the door, and feel nothing but rage run through my veins. I knew it. I fucking knew he was up to something and sweet Ana is apart of it. That bastard has another thing coming if he thinks he's going to do something like that to Ray and Ana. I make a call to Welch to retrieve me every single little piece on Liam Butterfield immediately. I'm going to bring him down because I'm Christian fucking Grey.
***Okay I'm a horrible author delaying the story this long! I know you're all probably upset with me leaving you with no updates since forever and I apologize. But my family issues became a everyday issue, leaving me exhausted to write or do anything. Everything is slowly becoming better and so am I. I promise all of you that I will finish this story one way or another! Also thank you thank you all for the reviews and messages urging me to continue and loving the story. That makes me even more determined to get back into updating and writing for you guys. I'm sorry this chapter is quite shorter than the others, but I'm just getting back into writing again. So enjoy and review. :)
