This chapter takes place between the end of The Last Olympian and beginning of The Lost Hero. So basically it's between the series'.
I don't know if I want this particular couple together due to HoH but if you guys think it's cute or I could make it work (because I can with LOTS of drama) then lemme know and I'll consider making it part of the PJO/HoO Marisol twist. Or we could just leave that character forever alone while Marisol dates a Stoll or Will Solace ya know.
Haha if you read this and read HoH tell me what does Connor Stoll always sacrifice to Hermes at meals? First person to answer that gets to pick what one shot I write next - if that makes answering the question worth your time.
Moments
Percy
It had been a long day at school, and walking home from the train six blocks away in the middle of winter wasn't helping his mood. He'd much rather be at camp, climate controlled camp, fighting monsters with his girlfriend Annabeth and sister Marisol.
Speaking of Marisol. Percy rounded the block of their apartment building, stopping short when he saw her leaving the apartment building with ... Nico di Angelo? Percy threw the hood of his sweatshirt up over his head, hitching the strap of his back pack higher onto his shoulder before following after them. He followed them back to the subways, watching Marisol grab Nico's hand as they descended. She never felt too comfortable underground, being a daughter of Poseidon and all. Maybe being underground with the son of Hades might ease her nerves. Or amplify them.
Percy followed them under, getting in the train car beside theirs. Marisol still hadn't let go of Nico's hand. He decided to see what was going on via twin link.
*Where are you?* he asked her mentally. He could feel her jump a mile in the air, a sudden throbbing in his head telling him she'd knocked her head.
*Um, on my way home. I had to stay a little late. Fight with a Scythian Dracaenae. Stupid snake ladies,* she mumbled.
*You alright?* he asked, pretending he believed her.
*Fine. Had a little help,* she said nervously.
*So that's why you're with Nico di Angelo,* Percy mused. *Where are you two really going?*
There was a pause. He looked into their cart to see Marisol frantically speaking to Nico. He said something in her ear before straightening. Their hands were still clasped together.
*Central. He said he needed my help finding some dryad. That's why he was at Goode anyway,* she said quickly.
*Alright,* Percy dismissed. *Be careful Mari.*
*Always am,* she laughed. *Love you.*
*Hourly updates. Love you.*
The conversation cut just as the train came in to 5th Avenue Station. Nico led Marisol out, Percy following silently. Their hands were still together, fingers entwined.
They can't be on a date, Percy thought to himself suddenly. Can they?
Nico was about two and half years younger than the Jackson Twins and Marisol was openly against dating younger guys - this much Percy knew. Then again, this was Nico di Angelo son of Hades. Everyone's rules changed around him. But how could Marisol trust the guy? He got them locked in a cell in the underworld. Marisol had been in tears of anger wondering how he could have gotten them there. When Nico broke them out she'd punched him in the jaw. Percy had never been more proud.
But could she have gotten so mad because she liked Nico? Had they been dating? If that was the case - they'd been together longer than Percy and Annabeth.
Percy had been following them as he thought, stopping when he felt a gust of cold winter air. He shivered, bringing his sweatshirt closer to his body. He looked over at Marisol, noticing she didn't have a coat, but she did have Percy's hoodie. She always took his shirts or his sweatshirts, moaning about how girls had such uncomfortable and tight clothing while guys got baggy and comfortable clothing. He didn't mind sharing his stuff with her, that was part of his job as her big brother, he just didn't like the thought of her getting sick in nothing but a hoodie.
Even from here Percy could see his little sister shivering.
Nico noticed as well, walking Marisol over to one of the few patches of sunlight left in the day. He whispered something in her ear, causing her to shake her head. He nodded, but she opened her mouth and shot back a reply. This time Nico shook his head, letting go of Marisol's hand and unzipped his oversized aviator jacket.
For a second, Percy thought Nico would actually give her the jacket. But Nico would be showing signs of affection, and the son of Hades did not show signs of affection. Nico didn't like to be touched either. Marisol touching him for so long must have meant they were dating. Percy couldn't wrap his head around that.
Marisol and Nico?
Marisol and Nico.
Nico held open the sides of his jacket, looking at Marisol expectantly. She glanced around nervously, glancing in Percy's direction too. He ducked his head, walking along like someone fighting the cold. When he looked up again, Marisol had wrapped her arms around Nico in a hug. He smiled, actually smiled, and zipped the big jacket over them both. He wrapped his arms around Marisol, saying things to her as she rested her head on his shoulder.
Percy's jaw dropped. His little sister was dating the son of Hades.
*Percy?*
He jumped, startled by her soft voice.
*Uh, yeah?* he asked.
*Go home you stalker.*
*How did you ...?* he began. She giggled into Nico's shoulder and he smirked down at her.
*You forgot to shut off the twin link, Seaweed Brain. I've been hearing all of your thoughts on me and Nico.* The humor in her thoughts was clear. *I'll fill you in at home. Just let me enjoy my date.*
Percy sighed, hitching his backpack strap up his shoulder once more. *How long?* he asked quietly.
*Uh, when I stayed with him at the Triple G Ranch - before I skipped out to catch up with you again. Go, please.*
He nodded. *Alright. Don't be too long. It'll be dark soon.* She laughed.
*Alright dad. I'll be home soon.*
Percy rolled his eyes, casting them one last look before turning on his way.
Are you happy, he wanted to ask. But catching one last look at her, head turned on Nico's shoulder so she could give her brother a smile, he knew she was.
Suddenly, Marisol and Nico didn't seem like such a bad idea.
Alright we all know I'm crap with updating but I got a major grounding for "letting" my little brother break our brand new laptop. And I had writers block. But i got HoH so that's all gone now and it's almost my birthday which happens to be two months after Percy's. October 18th, aha. He could def be my big brother if he isn't my twin since I'm turning 15 and he's gonna be 17 just after or during Blood of Olympus. So. Lemme know what ya think. Sorry for being a crap updater.
Xx.
Pam
