After sneaking out of the window as Rachel is driven to school by Dave and Jamie, Taylor, Mitchie and Dani takes a long walk all the way to the other side of town to the police station.
At every honk of a horn, and every shout near them, the girls take cover behind cars and in alleyways. Receiving weird looks from people around them, Dani sends them glares while getting pulled on by Mitchie and Taylor.
Stopping at the station, Dani storms in before her siblings, going straight up to the counter. Barely visible up against the counter, Dani stands tall and rings the bell.
"How may I help you?" A tall bulky man looks down on her.
"My siblings and I want to see someone. Is that a problem?" Dani crosses her arms honestly scared but not willing to show it.
"Depends on who you want to see. What is the name?"
"Will Schuester."
Eying the young girl in front of him, the man looks down at the note in front of him, saying that if any child coming to see William Schuester, he is to decline.
"I'm sorry, I am on strict orders to not let anyone to see him."
"I just want the keys to the apartment. Is that too difficult?"
"Let me go check in his box, and ask if it is possible. I need your names first."
"Dani."
"What about your sisters?"
"Mitchie and Taylor."
"Okay, take a seat."
Leaving his desk, the man grabs his keys, before heading down the hallway of the cells. Stopping at Will's cell, he taps the bars to get Will's attention from his humming and staring out of the cell's window.
"There are three young girls, Dani, Mitchie and Taylor, asking for you. Sadly, I am on strict orders to not let any child to see you. But Dani asks if she can have the keys to the apartment."
Seeing Will nod with a small smile, the man knows he made the right choice to ask and not just give the keys over.
"Will it be okay if I could write a fast note to them? I don't want them to be home alone, but I do understand if they don't feel safe anywhere but at home."
"Here." Pulling out a piece of loose paper and a pen, Will accepts them before writing a note.
Dani, Taylor and Mitchie,
The plans have changed. I am to stay here a little longer than originally planned for some unknowing reasons. I do not want any of you to be home alone, which is why I ask if you could talk Rachel into staying over some days and you to stay over there? But I want you to talk over this plan with her parents first before bring it up with Rachel.
Now, I have to ask, when you read this, ask the man if you could write a note back to me to let me know all of you are okay? I know this is scary, I'm honestly scared too, but you are way more important to me. We will be home soon, that I can promise. Dani, how are you feeling? As soon as I am allowed to go home, I plan to buy you the medication you need. Taylor, how are you handling this? Are you still learning what I have been teaching you? Mitchie, we both know how you are more of a leader, Dani's the fighter and the guard, but we both know Dani turns her emotions off, which is why you will be the one to get it out for her. Now here is the important question, have you gone back to school?
Will
Passing the note to the police officer, Will accepts the keys situation, before watching the man leave.
Back at the front room, Dani swings her legs back and forth pretty annoyed. Honestly, she's feeling homesick and lost without Will there with them. Seeing her sister's frustration on her face, Mitchie takes her hand and laces them together. With Taylor on her lap, Mitchie kisses her hair from time to time as Taylor counts the tiles on the floor.
"Hello girls, I have a letter for you." Lifting Taylor off of her lap, Mitchie gets up walking toward the counter. Taking the letter and reading it aloud to her siblings, the man walks over to Will's box and takes the keys.
"What are you doing?" Jumping at his boss's voice, the man looks at him.
"The girls' father is allowing them to take the keys to their home." The man explains.
"I forbid it! The keys are evidence to this case."
"What case?! All you are doing is hurting the children."
"I'm protecting them."
"You are doing more harm than good."
"You know what? Get the hell out! You are fired."
"Good. After I tell the girls to leave, I will go into the back and get my things. Then I am out of this hell hole."
Glaring at his boss, the man walks toward the girls, handing them the keys and taking the piece of paper the youngest hands him. Knowing it's a note to Will, the man waits as the girls run out and stops his old boss from chasing them.
"You ruined this case, Gary."
"Well Carlos, it's a dead end case. You better have someone search the girls on the computer. I know one thing, I overheard the girls saying they will not go back to their real parents."
"So William isn't their father."
"I bet you anything that they are abuse victims. You know, a victim just like you and I were."
"The only reason I hired you is because you are my brother."
Grinning at Carlos, Gary knows he's not fired. His brother would never fire him.
"The only reason you haven't fired me, is because I'm your younger brother."
"Sadly, that is true."
"If you won't release their father, could you at least give them visiting rights? And a date where they can know that he will go back home?"
"How old do you think they are?"
"The youngest looks around twelve. The twins look around sixteen."
"My daughter is seventeen and I don't like her being home alone. Do you think we should ask Will if he would like them to have a bodyguard?"
"Who would be their bodyguard?"
"You."
"Me? Why?"
"You were the one who gave them the contact to Will. In a way, that means they trust you. Remember the son and daughter a few months ago?"
"Yeah, why?"
"You were the very first person who they trusted. All of the other children who came in, you were the one they trusted. You are the person the children trust. Which is why I want you to be the bodyguard for those kids."
"If Will agrees, would you like me out of uniform and pretend to be their present time, guardian?"
"Yes. Now, lets go see Will, and you can give him the note from the kids."
~S&D~
Walking back to Rachel's, Taylor is giggling on Dani's back as Mitchie hooks her arm through Dani's. With her hand in her pocket, Mitchie fiddles with the keys. Thinking over their note back to Will, Mitchie feels nauseous. They all wrote their own messages to Will.
Will,
Please come home soon. Rachel's parents are nice, but they aren't you. We agreed that we want you. We want you as a parent rather our Master and Mistress. We need you.
It's rough and not fair. I like our home better. I love Rachel, I really do, but I want you. You are family. I have been practicing. Dani and Mitchie are keeping the teaching up. They are amazing at it, but they aren't you. Did you know that Canada has a tougher time to becoming singers, actors, and writers because United States dominates it? Yes, Dani taught me what dominates means. –Taylor
As much as I love my twin, she is a pain to get through. Her walls are barricaded. I have to constantly blackmail her to get her to open up. But I love her. Trying to tame her to keep her from lashing out is difficult, but she listens. We never leave Rachel's room. To visit you today, we climbed through her window. Rachel's parents are nice, but there is something about them that scares Taylor, even Dani and myself. Yeah, Dani is scared too. As for school, nope. We are NOT going back until you are home safe and sound. We need you. –Mitchie
I am not weak, but… I want you home. I have panic attacks, and they turn into attacks. When that happens, Rachel runs downstairs to get the coffee, which coffee is NASTY! Please, please, please come home. We are terrified to even step outside Rachel's room because her parents are creepy. Have you met them? Rachel is a big help. We haven't seen Finn at all; I guess Rachel has put seeing him outside school on hold for us. She hasn't changed since camp, which is the best news EVER! You and Rachel are the only ones who get through my walls, and I admit, two people outside of my sisters who I care about. Please stay safe, and come home soon. …I… Uhh… I love you, Will. –Dani
"Please come home, Will." Mitchie whispers, soft enough that Dani and Taylor couldn't hear.
