-My apologies guys, I have been quite busy lately. I will be updating more, I promise!
Anyway, the story is back on track, I hope you all are enjoying it so far!
-Masashi Kishimoto owns Naruto. I own the plot-
"Damnit Naruto! I didn't think I had to tell you to keep your mouth shut!" Kiba snapped at the blonde. The two of them had awoken in an abandoned building, tied to chairs. Arms at their sides, legs tied as well, the whole deal. They probably should have paid more attention the day that the rope escape technique was being taught back in the academy days. It was already late afternoon. The sun could be seen setting, through the boarded up windows.
"I didn't think he'd do this to us! It just sort of slipped, besides I thought he'd be happy!" Naruto said, struggling harder and harder. The rope was starting to get on his nerves. This was the first time he had seen it used by someone other than Natsuhi, and that had been so long ago.
The two doors in front of them were wooden, but very old; you could tell by just looking at them. Scratches etched their way along the bottom half and the edges were uneven and cracked. The small building had once been a small shop that sold sweets. After a fire, the old man had decided to relocate. The building hadn't been opened since. The walls behind them were black. Soot, ash, and debris lay around the floor, including pieces of the ceiling. The fire had been a few months ago, but nobody had bothered to clean any of it up.
When the old wooden doors were slowly pushed open by an unseen figure, they made a creaking sound. Naruto and Kiba stopped moving completely because honestly, it had startled them, but to show it would mean to be made fun of by the guys. Once the doors had completely opened, Akamaru slowly walked in, followed by the silver haired man.
"Akamaru!" Kiba said, excitedly. Yes, someone sane! He could finally get out of these ropes!
Because Akamaru was too big to sit in Kiba's lap, he placed his front paws on Kiba's legs, so the front half of his body was propped up, and he could lick his master's face. 'You were never in danger, calm down'
"Kakashi Sensei how could you do this to us?!" Naruto yelled. He was deeply distressed at this point as his stomach growled loudly and he whined once more.
"Akamaru." Kakashi called. Akamaru left Kiba, walked over to Kakashi and sat. He made no effort to show that he had heard Kiba or Naruto.
Kiba frowned. "Akamaru, what the hell are you doing? Get me out of these ropes!"
Kakashi pulled a large piece of meat from a small pouch he had and tossed it to Akamaru. Akamaru caught it with grace and started chewing on it.
"Traitor!" Kiba growled. He then tried to coax Akamaru to come to him.
"Kakashi are you going to tell us why we're here?!" Naruto yelled once more, but this time he would make sure Kakashi heard him.
Kakashi said nothing as he placed a single finger on his masked lips. They had to listen, before he would even try and speak to them.
"What does that mean?" Naruto said, oblivious as ever.
"He wants us to be quiet idiot." Kiba sighed. Today was a joke. He swore, without Sakura around him had the worst luck. Kiba opened his mouth to say more but stopped. Something about him felt different. For a moment, he had forgotten… about everything. For a moment, it had felt like he and Naruto had simply committed a mischievous crime and been caught. He felt like his normal self…`
"First off," Kakashi began, "I'm a bit disappointed that the two of you were so easily kidnapped."
Kiba and Naruto would've let their temper out once more if they hadn't been doing it for hours already. They were hot, hungry and tired. What was Kakashi's problem?
"Second, I'm terribly sorry about all this. But I can't let you attempt this so called mission." He crossed his arms and leaned his back against the wall.
"I'm not going to 'attempt' anything. I'm going to find her, and bring her back." Kiba said, matter-of-factly.
"I know how you feel Inuzuka, but you can't expect anything more than disappointment.
Kiba glared at Kakashi, "You don't know a damn thing about me."
Kakashi sighed, "I know that look you're giving. I know because, I too have walked for miles in that same pair of shoes." Kakashi said looking towards the floor. Rin and Obito had not just been his allies. They had been his friends; his family. After all these years, it still felt like an open wound that would never fully heal. "You think you've got something to prove," His tone became harsh. "But you can't continue to blame yourself for what happened."
"How can you sit there and act like you don't even care that she's gone?"
Naruto frowned, "Kiba.."
"No, she was one of your students, part of your goddamn team! Why can't you just let me do this? I don't give a fuck if I'm setting myself up for failure! I need to know if she really is dead!" Kiba growled. How dare this bastard sit here and tell him what he can and can't do.
Akamaru whined. He walked over to his master and chewed through the rope in seconds, releasing him. Kiba stood up, and helped Naruto out of his ropes, as well. He stood in-between the two men in a standoff. He wasn't sure what he'd do if things got ugy
"I'm going. I don't care if you outrank me. You're not stopping me, so don't you dare get in my way."
Kiba walked past the silver haired man and pushed on the old wooden doors.
"I hope you're prepared for what you'll find." Kakashi said, before exiting the old building.
