(( Sorry for the long wait and the short chapter. Been having some problems lately. Hopefully I'll have the next chapter done soon and the story done soon. Hopefully also the next chapter will be longer. Thank you for continuing to read the story and stick with it for this long. ~Faresia ))

Sapphire disappeared again. According to David and several other people in the town that was normal for her. They all said how she needed her space and how she worked hard single-handily protecting everyone in the village.

"Ha!" exclaimed my master when he heard that. "We work on saving the entire County and we never get special days off. No one makes excuses for us. Some Spook she is."

"This may be a good chance to see what she's hiding in her room," suggested Alice. "You both said you sensed something dark in there. If she is hiding something dark in there she may not actually be a Spook and the people here need to know the truth."

"Exactly what I was thinking. We need to go see what is in her room, and since she isn't here tonight would be the perfect opportunity to check."

"Why can't we check it right now?" I asked.

"Because David watches the inn for her. No doubt he would never let us within several feet of that room, let alone inside of it. We have to go when he's asleep and when no one is around."

We agreed on the plan and when night fell and David went to sleep we sneaked through the inn, careful to not wake up David, and went to Sapphire's room. When I got close to the door I shivered. There was something very evil and very dark in the room.

"How could she let something this dark live in her room?" I asked the Spook.

"Because she must not actually be a Spook. No self respecting Spook would let something this dark live with them."

Alice took out a pin out of her hair and went at the lock on her door. Within a few minutes she had the door open. As soon as the door opened the temperature dropped significantly.

"Whatever is in there is darker then I originally thought." whispered the Spook. "We must tread carefully."

We slowly walked into the room, the lanterns were all out so Alice lit one of them. It showed us a simple room with a bed, a desk, and another door on the other side of the room.

"I wonder what's in there." I said as I walked over to the door and opened it wide.

Inside it was pure darkness. Whatever dark thing Sapphire had hiding in her room seemed to be in there.

"I'm not so sure now that this is a good idea." Alice said.

"If we don't look now we'll probably never know what she's hiding." I said, putting one foot into the second room.

And I was pulled out by a person with sharp finger nails.

"There is one thing helping me, another entirely going into my personal belongings and snooping around!" The person threw me on the ground and I got a good look and saw that it was Sapphire. She glared at Alice and The Spook until they both left her room.

"We just wanted to know why you have something of the dark in your room if you claim to be a spook." My Master said.

Sapphire looked like she ate a lemon whole. "I told you that I have a witch living under my inn. My father stuck her down there. The entrance is through my room. That was the door you found."

"Ok, I am so confused. Why would your father just let a witch live under your home?" I asked.

Sapphire looked me straight in the eye. "The witch is The Nightingale. And her daughters are trying to get her out."
