Chapter 8

"Aaaahhhhh!"

At the sound of the blood curdling scream, everyone rushed outside. There before them stood Shane and River. Aaron was lying on the ground, caked in blood.

"What happened?" Steve asked the boys sharply.

Blood oozed slowly from Shane and River as well. "I-I-I didn't mean to," Shane stammered.

"He hit me!" Aaron shouted.

"You've been beat a lot worse than that," Tim said," I don't see what the big deal is."

"He came at us with a knife," River said.

A knife gleamed in the moonlight a short ways from Aaron. Slowly, the events of what had just occurred began to take place.

Shane had stomped away from the house because he was mad at Asia for what he deemed unfair justice when Simon, River, and Rain had embarrassed Shane by cutting a big hole in the back of his jeans.

Two-Bit mentioned it to Shane when he saw what was going on, and Shane had then attempted to get back at his brother and cousins. Instead, Asia had pulled Shane off Simon and the twins. She had scolded Shane, but Shane had told seen or heard his mother do a thing about his little brother and cousins.

Hurt and angry, Shane has attempted to disappear outside unnoticed outside until he could cool off. That was when Aaron thought he would have the best chance to teach Shane how the hoods dealt with sheltered little sissies.

However, River had interrupted his plans when he had followed Shane outside to confront him. He felt bad about playing the trick on Shane, and being of a much younger age, offered to cut a huge hole in his jeans too.

Aaron had made fun of River, so River had punched Aaron in the gut as hard as he could. Losing his cool, Aaron had taken out a knife, but had cut Shane who jumped in front of River.

From there, the fight had been on. They three boys had many bruises. River's nose had been broken, and Aaron's wrist had been snapped.

"We are in big trouble," River said to Shane.

"I know," Shane answered.

"Do you still want me to cut my pants? River asked.

"No," said Shane.

"Are you sure? Daddy's going to punish me anyways."

"No," said Shane again.

"Does this mean you forgive me for playing a trick on you?" asked River.

"Yes," said Shane. "I forgive you."

"I'm so glad," River said, "because here our Daddy's come."
