Ch.8 – Test of Love

~Fair enough.~ Harry withdrew, remembering the memory of James picking on Snape like Malfoy would pick on him. ~But you really shouldn't be here. You could get in serious trouble if you're caught.~

~Don't worry. Snape wouldn't let anything bad happen to me. He is protective of me. You as well.~

~Snape is always making me look like a fool.~

~No. He is giving you the tools you need to survive. He loved your mother very much. He sees her in you. He kept Quirrell from killing you. He just doesn't know how to show you that he cares. Give him a chance Harry. You've given me one haven't you?~

~…But you're different.~

~Do you like me Harry Potter?~

~… I…. um… well… do you like me?~

~Perhaps. But you did not answer me.~

Someone shifts in their sleep, both look over to find Ron hugging his pillow and uttering something about Hermione.

~If you are brave enough to like me, dear Griffindor, then come sit with me at breakfast.~ It took a few minutes for Harry to register just what she meant. But the time he thought of a reply, she was gone. He could only hope his friends would support him the next morning when he walked over the the Slytherin table.
