"She's my sister you son of a bitch." Amy spat at Shane before walking away from him.

Riker bit his lip and looked towards Atlanta. It had been a few weeks since Shane and the others had joined him, Andrea, Amy and Dale, the larger group quickly being dictated by the force of Shane. It was obvious to everyone that he used the dead ones arrival to pork his best friend's wife, and play daddy to their kid.

Riker sat on the floor and sighed. "No use sighing, we need more food. Find some berries or go fishing, make yourself useful to us." Shane spat to Riker before staring towards Atlanta himself.

Riker rolled his eyes and stood up, walking towards the treeline when he heard a scream come from the woods. He darted towards the sound, reaching for the screwdriver in his back pocket and covering his face as the branches hit him. He burst into a small clearing and saw Moralez's kids facing a dead one. He grabbed the dead ones shoulder before plunging the screwdriver into his head.

He looked behind him when there was more rustling, expecting it to be another dead one when he saw Shane and the kid's mother. "Mom!" He smiled as the kids were comforted by their mother and his heart hurt at the thought of his family, where they alive or dead ones?

"Keep your kids close to you woman, they could attract more of 'em." Shane spoke harshly and stormed back to the camp.

Riker glared at his retreating back and walked over to the family. "You guys ok?" He asked the kids and smiled when they nodded. "Good. Try to stay a little closer to the camp, we don't want the dead ones to get any of us." He told them softly with a small smile and the group walked back to camp with only rattled nerves.

"Thank you Riker." Their mother said graciously and pulled him into a tight embrace. "I can't lose my children."

Riker smiled in return and opened his mouth to answer when a loud alarm rang through the quarry and mountains. The whole group collected together and watched as a sports car pulled up and Shane rushed to turn the alarm off, Glenn climbing out of the driver's seat.

He rolled his eyes and clenched his teeth as Shane scolded Glenn, laughing slightly when Glenn replied. "I got a cool car from it."

A huge removal van pulled up soon after, the back of the van opening could be heard before Andrea ran towards Amy and embraced her while T-Dog walked calmly towards the group with a grin. Greetings were shared as Moralez got back to his family. "Told you I'd be back, didn't I?"

Riker looked back at Lori and Carl sadly as a father held his children, knowing from their past that Lori's husband had probably died in their home town.

Dale hugged Moralez. "You are a welcome sight. I thought we'd lost you folks for sure."

"How'd you get out anyway?" Shane asked.

"New guy. He got us out." Glenn responded.

"New guy?" Shane asked in disbelief, Riker understanding his wariness.

"Yeah, a crazy bob who just got into town." Moralez added. "Hey helicopter boy, come say hello." A man in a sheriff's uniform got out of the van with his head low as he walked. "Guys a cop, like you."

Time seemed to stop as Shane took in the new man, shock and disbelief finding its way onto his face. Shane and the new man stared at each other, Carl turning his head towards them when nothing was said for a while. Disbelief covered their face and the new guy pointed towards Lori and Carl as his mouth opened and closed for a while. "Oh my God."

The man started walking towards the group and it brought back time to the group. "Dad! Dad!" Carl shouted as he ran towards the new man with a smile on his face. Carl ran into his arms and the new guy started to sob as he held his son close in his arms before carrying him towards a frozen Lori who wrapped her arms around the new guy. She looked towards Shane as she held him and Riker could see guilt in her eyes.

Introductions were made and arrangements were made for Rick on where he would be sleeping, unsurprisingly in the tent with his wife.

Night drew closer and the large group gathered around the burning fire to listen to Rick's story. Riker listened closely and a small hope filled him, maybe his family had gotten out of Atlanta before it all got to bad.

Let me know what you think and I'll see you in the next one, bye :)
