Hello! Sorry for the delay, I've been fairly busy lately. I had to split this chapter so the next chapter continues where this left off. Enjoy the story!
Kiba's P.O.V:
My eyes slowly began to open to my surroundings again as my entire body grew sore from the injuries I sustained from the Noble's airship, he took Cheza from us while we were on the road to Paradise but he ruined our journey and now she was gone. I pulled myself off the ground ignoring the stiffening pain burning all over me as my blurry vision became clear and found my sister laying on the ground a few steps from me.
"Luna…" I spoke out to her, reaching her and nudged my nose against the side of her face gently as she slowly opened her blue eyes and stared at me.
"Kiba…" Her voice was weak and soft as I felt a little better knowing she was alright after enduring those injuries caused by that damn Noble. He was going to pay for taking Cheza from us and also hurting my sister. As I helped Luna to her feet, her eyes instantly stared up at the darkened sky and I followed her gaze soon after and there above us was the full moon now stained blood red. It changed colors once Cheza was separated from us.
"Let's go." I told her and she gave a small nod as we began to turn back on the dirt path while the other wolves were slowly getting up as well and noticed the two of us walking back into the city. They began follow us without saying a words.
End P.O.V
As morning began to rise and the sunlight beginning to shine on my face, I woke up to the burning pain lingering from the injuries I received from that bastard Noble last night. It made it difficult to sleep now as Cheza was no longer with us after the Noble took her away, she made a choice to go with him in order to protect us. I couldn't be upset with the flower but I do want to shred the Noble's throat to shreds. Slowly, I pushed myself to sit up from the metal beam I used to rest on as Kiba was nearby hunched over and irritated as well as we ended up back into the city and found this abandoned warehouse to rest inside. Once I was sitting up, I began to rub my right arm as it became sore while my brother tended to his left shoulder before we heard Hige's voice speaking out from behind.
"You two are up and moving already?" I faced his direction as his head poked out from the circular tubing with his arms resting underneath his chin and eyes barely opened. Tsume rested against his back with his arms positioned behind his head while Toboe sat on the cold ground, legs crossed and his face full of discomfort.
"Come on, guys. I know we've been through a lot but why all the moping?" Hige complained while Toboe's voice answered for him.
"I couldn't sleep, that's why." He tiredly told him in his defense as the wolf wearing the strange leather collar argued back at the young red wolf.
"Yeah, well neither could I." As Hige spoke this out, Tsume slowly sat up from his resting position and began to speak his mind.
"You slept like a dead man as always." I turned my attention away from those three while trying to ignore the stiffening pain caused by that damn Noble.
"Look, I'm just as shocked and frustrated as the rest of you but none of that is going to figure out what the hell to do now! Are we going to live here in a stupor for the rest of our lives?! Somebody say something damn it! Luna, Kiba both of you guys haven't said a single word to either of us other than yourselves since everything happened." Hige shouted out in annoyance but neither I nor Kiba responded to say anything to him as our backs were turned against them.
"Drop it, Hige!" Tsume growled to keep him quiet as Toboe spoke for us.
"Leave them alone! Luna and Kiba were hurt the worst, remember?" Softly my lips released a small smile before I decided to talk.
"It's not that, Toboe…" My blues eyes were focused on the steel ground below me as now my words gathered their attentions and soon my brother, Kiba spoke out too.
"It's just we're really pissed off." My brother clenched his jaw and narrowed his eyes out in the distance as the room began to grow silent once more.
"SHE WENT THAT WAY!" My head lifted up to the loud voice of a human shouting about something outside as it caught our attentions and soon the rapid footsteps grew closer.
"COME BACK HERE, DAMN IT! SHE'S OVER THERE!" More angry voices shouted from the humans filling my ears while my nose picked up a strange scent that was oddly familiar.
Suddenly out of nowhere, the black female wolf dog we'd encountered in the previous city skidded across our eyes and ran into the building before making a complete halt before appearing in a human form surprisingly. This wolf dog appeared before us with tan colored skin and black short hair similar to Hige's as she wore a black belted dress with thigh high boots and a pink scarf wrapped around her neck. We were all stunned seeing her in a human disguise in front of us and wondering what happened to her human owner as it sounded as if he wasn't around.
"Wow, what a babe…" Hige surprisingly let out as this wasn't the time to start wagging his tail at the moment.
"So, she's got friends…" Three greasy humans entered into the building with metal pipes held in their hands as they shared a chuckle among themselves which only disgusted me.
"Yeah, so what is it to you?" Hige wisecracked to the one standing in the middle wearing a white suit who had spoken while the golden brown wolf stepped in front of the wolf dog defending her.
"Hand over the girl…"
"Why should we?" Hige sounded unconvinced to listen to these goons wanting to know the reason he should give the girl to them.
"She's our merchandise." Now the one on the leader's left spoke out dressed in a coal black suit letting out a grin as I don't how anything living could be property to filthy humans.
"Move..." The leader began to cock his head at his gang and the two of them slowly made their way towards us while gripping their weapons tightly in their hands. They were willing to fight us as it was a real bad time to be messing with us right now and they were asking for it as the one in black stood in front of Tsume and Toboe and the other one wearing a purple beanie positioned himself in front of my brother and me.
"You folks aren't from around here, are you?" The leader spoke out while standing in front of Hige and the wolf dog as Hige took charge of the talking.
"So, what if we aren't?" The humans started to inch closer to us as if they were trying to put fear in us.
"There's a big demand for young bodies in this town." The one closest to Tsume and Toboe grinned to himself bringing his steel pipe to his chest waiting to attack.
"People will pay top dollars for healthy organs…" The one with the beady eyes standing in front of me and Kiba let out a disgusting smirk, glancing over to me and licked his lips as he noticed me closely. "Well, well…look what we have here. Hey baby, a pretty thing like you could easily earn us some money working for us." He gave out a yellow grin to himself while my anger was boiling and instinctively my brother pushed himself in front of me as he glared at the smut looking at me with hungry eyes.
"Stay away from her." Kiba said in low defensive voice as he threatened him.
They quickly made the first move to harm us as Tsume and Toboe jumped back dodging themselves from the human dressed in black who shouted at them and swung his weapon trying to hit them.
"You don't expect us to handle over our bodies, do you?" Tsume rolled his head and rotated his shoulders as quickly kicked the guy in the ribcage and easily fell to the ground from the impact.
Meanwhile the leader of the scumbags threw himself at the wolf dog who quickly stepped away from falling into his grasp and the human slowly began to fall over as Hige pushed his whole body into him, letting the filth take a hard blow to the ground. Finally, the last human remaining carelessly swung his crowbar at my brother who was protecting me from him but it was easy for the two of us to step away from him as I swept my heel underneath the human's foot and caused him to trip before landing on his back hard. Kiba pressed his foot against the human's shoulder and soon we began to reveal ourselves to exactly what we are, wolves. As Kiba stood above the scumbag, I bared my teeth to the side of his head as he began to sweat in fear while his scared eyes cautiously looked over to the two other two humans who were both underneath Tsume and Hige while Toboe and the wolf dog stood nearby. The human slowly let his eyes linger back at my brother who was about to rip out his throat.
"I'm going crazy! It's a curse! It's a curse of the House of Darcias!" His screaming filled the air as both Kiba and I brought our jaws towards the cowardly human who shut his eyes tight waiting for death. Though seconds passed and realizing he wasn't dead yet he began to open his eyes as he came face to face with two bared mouths revealing sharp teeth in front of him and beside him. The man screamed again as the both of us made an escape with everyone else, leaving the humans engaged with fear.
"Did you see that stupid look on their faces?" Tsume laughed in enjoyment while talking about the three humans we'd encountered earlier as we decided to rest amongst a large pile of rocks and rubble after running from those humans.
"I know that felt terrific!" Toboe shared his excitement with a wide smile attached to his bright face. I sat beside him and couldn't help but to think how cute he looked as suddenly I felt the tingling pain stiffening within my arm rubbing it gently.
"Luna, are you alright?" Toboe noticed this easily as his face was filled with concern but I softly smiled at him before answering.
"Yeah, I'm just a little sore." He began to smile but his eyes were slightly worried as I looked over at Kiba who gave out a soft grin being reassured that I was alright.
"Hey, are you alright?" Hige's voice now filled the air speaking to the wolf dog as the two of them stood at the bottom of the pile of rubble as she looked up at him.
"Yeah, thanks for helping me." She let out with a small grin before she was interrupted by Tsume's irritated words.
"We didn't do it for you…Those idiots caught us in a bad mood, that's all." He growled out explaining the true reason why we acted against those disgusting bastards while Hige was bothered by this.
"Why are you being so harsh? It's not like we run into girls every day except Luna." The golden brown wolf argued his point as he looked back at the women and his soft expression appeared again. "By the way, I'm Hige." He started to give her the friendly introduction while she stared off into the ground and answered back to him.
"My name is Blue. It's been a while, huh?" Once she spoke out her name, she let her blue eyes glanced over at the four of us knowing we've encountered her before as this caused Hige to be slightly jealous.
"You can say that." My brother let out with his eyes a little bit narrowed while I spoke out too as the last time we met her was outside that alleyway back in the last city when her humans nearly killed me.
"Sort of." I felt a bit unease standing a few feet from the wolf dog who tried to hunt us down with her human as if we were a plague. I admit it was nice not being the only girl among a pack of guys but I doubt she was going on the journey to Paradise with us. I wasn't so sure if we could trust her especially after she tried to hurt my brother.
"You did some pretty nasty things to us when you were with that human." Tsume let out with his arms crossed over his chest feeling aggravated as Toboe began to speak to at her.
"That old man…where is he?" Even though that human hated us and almost killed us, Toboe still held a soft spot for him. It was something I'll never truly understand from the young wolf that was raised by one.
"Something happened and we were split up." Blue let out softly before my brother spoke out in a bitter tone.
"He was still tracking us in the last city we were in." The sudden flashback of that night swept through my mind catching the image of my brother taking the bullet to his shoulder as he protected me.
"I know he was that's why he was there. Pops will track a wolf to the ends of the earth." Blue responded to us as she let her eyes face the distance scenery.
"I don't get it, aren't you a wolf too?" Toboe asked her very innocently and she didn't answer him and only changed the conversation.
"Hey, that other girl is she still with you? You know the one you were traveling with? She had a really strange scent." She began to bring up Cheza.
"The other girl, you mean Cheza?" Toboe let out and her ears began to perk up.
"Cheza?" Blue said the flower maiden's name as Hige begin to get nervous.
"Oh, uh about that, well let's just saw we shouldn't talk about that right now, okay? I know! Why don't we look for some food! I mean we did just bump into each other and all. Besides there's a lot of danger for a girl on her own in a town like this." Hige was trying his best to steer all of us away from speaking about Cheza and started to coax each of us into searching for food with the half breed in order to get along but neither one of us were agreeing to it.
"Not a chance, Porky!" Tsume snapped at him causing Hige to be angered by it.
"Why not?!"
"As if I'll ever hang with her, she was doing everything she could to hunt us down." Tsume expressed a glare on his face as the other wolf tried to give a good defense to his argument.
"Yeah, but..."
"You're only saying that because it didn't happen to you." Toboe pointed out to the stubborn wolf as Blue began to laugh to herself.
"Forget it. I don't want to hang out with a bunch of kids either. See you around." She began to walk away while giving us a small wave with her hand as Hige had a mad look on his face.
"Hey! Aren't you guys being a little cold? Hold on, it dangerous! Wait up!" The love struck wolf called after her and began to chase after her.
"Hige! Wait!" Toboe called after him but there's no point he'll listen to us as he was already gone.
"His tail wags whenever there's a girl around. Just let him go." Tsume told him as I began to speak to them.
"When we were back in the last city, she found out she had some wolf inside of her. She's half wolf, Cheza told her." I softly glanced up and looked at Toboe who was surprised.
"Half wolf?" He was still confused but not for long as my brother's voice soon followed afterwards.
"That side of her must have woken up after meeting Cheza." I slowly took a nod while my mind became preoccupied with thoughts on the maiden.
"Cheza? I wonder what she's doing. Do you think she's okay?" Toboe stared at me with a worried look in his golden eyes as I really hope Cheza was okay despite being with that Noble.
"I don't know Toboe…" I let out truthfully to him wishing I knew the answer. There was nothing here in this dump of a city that could lead us back to the journey to Paradise without the flower maiden. There has to be something to lead us to finding her again and that Noble as there was still a score to settle with him. While my mind grew heavy with countless of thoughts, the four of us stayed upon the piles of rubble straight into the late evening with the sun soon settling along the horizon.
'We'll find you Cheza, I promise…'
