"You want me to do what!" Hadvar replied. 'Oh crap.'

"I need you to help me get my weapon back." Ruby restated, a bit more timidly than she did before, but still serious.

"You realise that, by now, bandits would have taken over the place?" Ruby nodded. "You want us to go into a bandit infested ruin, and walk back out, both of us still alive, with your weapon?" Hadvar asked sceptically, expanding on his earlier statement. Ruby nodded again. "What are you gonna do, go in there and ask for it?"

"I'm getting my weapon back with or without you." Ruby said wanting to get it over with.

"There's nothing that I can say to convince you not to do this is there? Ruby shook her head. Hadvar sighed and said, "Fine then." Ruby smiled, and turned around.

Ruby stepped in front of Hadvar and walked inside the house. "Grab your weapon; we're leaving as soon as we can."

"Wait, now?" Hadvar asked walking inside the house. Ruby turned back to him and nodded, then threw Hadvar's sword to him.

"And what do you plan on using?" Hadvar yelled across the house. Ruby held up an iron battle-axe in response, then sheathed it on her back. "So are you ready?" Ruby asked. Hadvar nodded.

"Then let's go."

Crossroads outside Helgen

Ruby shivered, and folded her arms. Bushes covered in various flowers lined either side of the path, with trees towering behind them. A fallen stone pillar, from a construction built long ago, lay on the left of the path, and a fine layer of snow covered it all. It was beautiful, the white background of the snow making the colours stand out more, but gods was it cold.

"Are you okay? You're not sick are you?" Hadvar asked from Ruby's left, clearly concerned for the girl.

"No, no, no, I'm just not used to the cold." She replied. "Aren't you cold?"

"Skyrim's a cold place. When you're born and raised in it, I guess you don't really notice it after a while." Hadvar said, stepping over a tree that had fallen across the path, and was now almost completely covered in snow. The smell of smoke caught the pair's attention and caused them to stop. Ruby looked up, and saw smoke drifting into the sky, above the trees.

"We must be close." Hadvar stated, suddenly becoming very serious. Ruby nodded and continued walking, Hadvar following shortly afterward. The pair turned a corner and a gap in the trees finally appeared, allowing the pair to see the town. The outside of the city seemed to be mostly intact. The walls were still standing and remained mostly undamaged. A keep still stood on the other side of the wall and looked like it was completely untouched, and even the gates were still intact. Though what it was like inside was unknown to them.

"Let's keep moving." Ruby stated, breaking the silence, and continuing onward. Hadvar hummed in agreement and followed. As the pair approached the gate, they could hear cheering from the other side of the wall.

"Sounds like a lot of people." Hadvar said. "Are you sure you don't want to turn back?"

"Crescent Rose is still in there. I can't leave her behind."

The gate was a stone arch, similar to the one in river wood, except this one had a pair of wooden doors, with iron bars going across it and an iron handle on each one. On top of the gate was a walkway for guards, and above that a tiled roof held up by several wooden posts, probably a shelter for the guards on duty. 'Who could blame them, its bloody freezing!' The pair stood in front of it, the gate towering over them, thinking of what to do next. On top of the watchtower, a guard walked out from behind the keep and towards the shelter.

"Quickly, hide!" Hadvar whisper shrieked as he dived behind a nearby rock. He turned around, looking for Ruby, and instead found a cloud of rose petals where she used to be. "Damn it, Ruby." Hadvar peeked out from behind his rock, checking to see if the guard had passed. Instead, he saw Ruby sheathing her battle-axe, standing over the unconscious guard. Ruby knelt down and extended her hand down to Hadvar.

"I hate it when you do that." He said, as he grasped her hand and climbed up the wall. Ruby raised a finger to her lips, and crouched down behind the guard rope, looking out at what remained of Helgen.

What she saw was horrifying. The dragon had burned down almost everything. Burned corpses still littered the ground, where the walls used to be was now a pile of rubble, and all that was left of the houses were burning piles of wood. The bandits had moved all of the salvageable wood to in front of the only standing house; coincidentally the one Ruby had jumped in, and had built some kind of makeshift throne. On the throne sat a man with dark red hair that grew down to his shoulders, wearing some strange form of leather armour. Some sort of, fur lined, leather skirt was wrapped about his waist, and he had two leather straps going across his chest and holding a small piece of metal to his shoulder. (Hide armour) But Ruby was mostly ignoring him, instead looking at what was beside him. Imbedded into the ground next to the throne, was Crescent Rose.

Another bandit came out of the house behind, what Ruby was assuming was, the leader, and roughly shoved a man, in similar armour to the leader's, on the ground in front of him. The leader smiled and stood up, picking up Crescent Rose as he did so.

"Now the fun begins." The leader called to the crowd in front of him, causing them to cheer. Ruby, finally noticing the crowd, looked on in wide-eyed horror. When Hadvar said that bandits would have already taken over the place, she had expected, maybe, eleven or twelve, thirty at best. Instead there were, almost hundreds of them. 'Crap.'

"This man had the audacity to double-cross me," The leader called pointing at the man on the floor in front of him, "by attempting to run to an imperial dog," Hadvar's jaw clenched in anger, "in a nearby city. Now, why don't we show him what happens to people who betray us." A cheer rose from the crowd of bandits, a cry for bloodshed.

"Please, I just wanted to see the rest of my family, I wouldn't tell anyone." The man on the ground pleaded, as the blade of Crescent Rose was placed against his right shoulder.

"Now, does anyone know what happens when I pull this?" The leader called, putting his finger on the trigger. The crowd cheered again. "Please. Have mercy." The man pleaded again. A loud bang echoed out from the city. The scythe blade tore through his shoulder separating his arm from the rest of his body. He screamed in pain and fell to the floor on his good shoulder. His remaining hand clutching the "flesh wound." (References) Blood started seeping through his fingers and onto the cobblestone below, and he continued to scream in pain and fear. The crowd cheered louder, calling for more violence, more pointless bloodshed.

Ruby and Hadvar couldn't believe it, the pair watching in a mixture of horror and anger. Blood started to drip from Ruby's hand with how tightly she clenched her fist. It was taking every ounce of her willpower to stop herself from rushing in there and killing all of them. 'How could they use her like that!'

"Just hurry up and end it already." Said a bandit standing in the doorway of the house behind the leader.

"Always ruining all the fun, aren't you?" The leader said, pulling the armless man up onto his knees and putting the barrel of Crescent Rose to his head. That's when Ruby couldn't take it anymore. Hadvar looked to his right, to see that Ruby had vanished again. "Gods damn it, Ruby!" He cursed under his breath, not willing to give away his location.

The crowd cheered again, now wanting the leader to "blow his head off." The leader put his finger on the trigger again. Ruby appeared beside him and punched him in the jaw, the sound of snapping bone echoing to the crowd below. The leader stumbled sideways, dropping Crescent Rose as he did so. Ruby looked to her left. The crowd stared at her with a look of complete anger. 'Crap.' The crowd drew their weapons. 'Crap.' The crowd screamed in anger and charged at her. 'Crap, crap, crappity, crap, CRAP!'

A/N: Power is a very dangerous thing. Put it in the wrong person's hands, and shit hits the fan. Another chapter, blah blah blah, complete shit, blah blah blah, you know the drill. Thank you to all of the people that viewed/visited, (I still don't know the difference) followed, favourited, and reviewed the story while I was away. (So sorry) A huge thank you to gnurd for his review, I will try to alter my writing as best I can. As to why I was away for so long, (again, so sorry) as I do with all my stories, I painted myself into a corner, (so I completely demolished Helgen) and my teachers apparently don't understand that we have other subjects or a personal life. To ZeroStealth 117, I loved the chapter, as well as the idea, but unfortunately, nothing like that will ever happen. The reference contest is still on, if you spot it post it in a review or pm me, and another challenge to see if you guys can tell me where the reference from this chapter is from. (I labelled it) In chapter 4(ish) I mentioned a little surprise for Blake, well I've thought ahead a lot and in order to do some of the stuff I want to do, I'm gonna have to drop it. For those who were curious, I was planning to make Blake a Khajeet. (Skyrim's Faunus equivalent) A new story has been posted by xXlyra16Xx with a similar idea to this story, but it's Yang instead of Ruby, and it's much better. Forgive me for my moment of strange fandom, but Okami The Blue Wolf is following this story. If you're reading this I love the stories, and to everyone else, I highly recommend you check out his stories, they're absolutely brilliant. (Link dump! u/5473304/) For those of you who can do art (another reference) I am looking for a cover image to this story. I'm just so tired of looking at the same boring, default, silhouette picture over and over again, and I'm sure you guys are as well, so I'll have another competition thing. If you guys could please send me an image, (Don't leave a url in a review it doesn't work, try pm-ing me or something I don't know how it works.) It'd be very much appreciated. I've also decided that OC's will definitely be included later on. I've already planned them out, as well as parts of the story that they are vital to.

Questions, comments, follows, favourites and feedback is appreciated.
