I didn't really know what to expect in class, the only classes I've really had were basic royalty courses and a very rigorous training program to hone my skills in combat. The past few weeks I wasn't allowed to participate since the next semester had yet to open up for new students. Me and Superboy did a lot of hanging out around the dorms during his free time, and every once and awhile Speedy or Robin would stop by to check in on how I was doing.

I ate lunch with Robin once, enjoying his calm mood and the sunny weather. Batgirl was apparently cramming for exams, a phrase I wasn't familiar. We sipped lemonade and he told me more about the things of this planet. I couldn't stop myself from smiling, he never treated me like I was stupid or a bother. He knew I just simply wasn't custom to it here and gladly helped me wherever he could.

"So where exactly did you grow up?" He smiled at me from across the table, he lifted his foot so it rested on his other leg's upper thigh, his arm slung over his chair.

My smile slightly fell at the thought of home. No one was there anymore. Robin saw my eyes and lips shift and his face went from light hearted to concerned in a flash.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pry."

"No it's okay, I'm from Tamaran. It's located in star-system Vega." I replied, feeling hollow, but not entirely filled with sadness.

"I think we went over that system in astronomy once." Robin cocked his head to the side in thought.

"I received a rather lengthy education in the star-systems, its important to politics to know the locations of intelligent species." I replied to his astronomy comment.

"Then are humans intelligent in your eyes?"

I smiled into his eye, "I believe so."

There was silence after that, not an awkward silence, just simply peace. The slight breeze was cool but the Fall air wasn't a bother yet to Robin and the others.

Robin looked good in his uniform, a powder-blue button up shirt and grey slim fit dress pants with a black belt and matching dress shoes. His buttons were undone revealing his collarbone and smooth, yet slightly battle scarred skin. He had a tendency to brush his hair back with his hand almost constantly, making it look like his hair was always wind blown backwards, but its just how hi hair laid, except for a few wild strands. He always wore his mask though, as did most people within the walls of the Gotham Academy, which I found a little silly, but if it protects them somehow I'll be okay with it.

I ducked my head down and bit into my mustard sandwich, of all things on Earth, it was the yellow substance I loved putting in my mouth the most. Glancing up I saw Robin toss his head back and give an amused chuckle before leaning forward to hand me a napkin. Blushing I accepted the napkin and whipped the yellow sauce from the corners of my mouth.

"You're something special alright." He grinned at me.

My stomach contracted, maybe I had too much mustard.

He took a bite of his sandwich while I mustered the courage to ask him about him and Batgirl. They were clearly together, but something about it was off, and I couldn't quite figure out what it was.

"So, does Batgirl always treat you like you are about to fight something off?" I asked, not even knowing what I meant by it.

He swallowed and gave me a puzzled look, "What do you mean?"

"Well," I started, "She is so protective of you, and she gets flustered if you do not seem ready to attack anything that she does not agree with. You seem close, but is there no tenderness between the two of you?"

He scratched below his ear thoughtfully and said, "I think you ask too many questions, but yeah I suppose it has something to do with us growing up together. We fought crime together for many, many years, we never knew we had feelings for each other till we had some downtime to think about it. We aren't very affectionate compared to some couples, yes, but that doesn't mean I don't care about her."

I frowned, that didn't really answer a whole lot of my questions.

"Do you love her?"

He furrowed his brow and cocked his head, "I don't know. I think I do."

I shook my head, "Tamaraneans, we know our emotions, understand them, and act on them. Humans make things so complicated."

Robin sighed, and gathered both my trash and his before getting up to throw it away. Inside I knew I had said something wrong and it pained me that it made Robin hurt. When he returned, we got up and began to walk to my dorm.

"I'm sorry if I have upset you friend Robin. It was not my intention." I apologized.

He smiled softly before speaking, "Hey, its no big deal."

We walked in silence, clearly my words still weighed on him.

"Star, I have something to ask you." Robin stopped suddenly, "There's this party going on this Saturday, I'm sure Speedy would've invited you anyways but just in case I'd like to let you know you're welcome to come."

The wind blew strands of curly red hair in my face blocking my view and I smiling struggled to tuck the tuffs behind my ear, Robin grinned at my difficulty.

"I would be delighted to attend. What does one wear to a party?" I replied happily.

He shrugged, "Anything a little more fancy than casual I suppose. It's at Cyborg's house, so I'm sure Jinx could get you directions if you don't know where that it."

Apparently Jinx and Cyborg had a history of on and off dating.

I nodded, "Okay, I'll be there."

"Good." He flashed his white teeth at me once again, "See you later?"

I pulled him into a warm hug, he smelled crisp, yet balmy. Like perhaps early morning air?

"Yes." I said muffled into his shoulder before pulling away.

Inside my heart soared, and with a slight giggle, I rose into the air, made a giddy circle around the building before swooping into my open window. All I had to do was wait till Saturday.
