For the past three weeks, Sakura was bored. Sure, she trained and had gotten a job at the hospital but it wasn't enough to satisfy the Haruno. She needed someone to talk to. Some friends. But she doesn't have any. She made some acquaintances but that's it.
Sakura was at her new apartment. (Which she bought with her money she earned for working at the Amega hospital) She was gazing out her window, thinking. The clouds hovered slowly by. The wind blew some grass blades, making them sway. Sakura let out an sigh.
It's been three weeks and that Uchiha hasn't shown up once. How long is his mission suppose to be? And where is the destination in which his mission objectives are? Gah! Who am I kidding? He wouldn't tell me no matter how many times I ask. And why should I care anyway?
Sakura continued to think a few minutes more. Her stomache began to grumble. Showing a sign of hunger. Sakura groaned, then sat up. A little lunch can't hurt me. Just hope it doesn't rain. Wait, what am I saying? Of course it's going to rain! I'm living in Amega-the village of rain!
A few minutes later, Sakura was walking down the road, holding her umbrella. A light rain fell from the clouds. A moment later, the rain picked up. More rain fell from clouds and the wind picked up speed. Sakura groaned loudly and began to pick up her pace.
I must hurry up and get out of this storm.
Sakura looked and saw a sushi bar. Her stomache rumbled loudly. As if it was saying "Hurry over to that sushi bar. That way, we'll be out of the storm and we can get something to eat." Sakura ran towards the bar, tightening her grip on her umbrella.
When she got there, she closed the wet umbrella and placed it by her feet. After making her order, Sakura began humming to herself. She gazed around the bar. She looked back at the man behind the counter. "Nice place you got here." She commented. "Thank you, miss." The man said, smiling.
Sakura smiled, then continued to hum and look around. Something caught her eyes and she looked at it. It looked familiar to her. Sakura saw the colors of it. Black, red and white were the colors. But she didn't give her eyes enough time to focus on it. To make out the shapes.
Sakura looked away and began to hum louder. She knew what it was. An Akatsuki cloak. That brings another question to her mind. Which Akatsuki member does that cloak belong to? Sakura knew a Akatsuki member was sitting next to her. She doesn't who, though.
Sakura kept humming until her bowl of sushi arrived. Sakura lifted her chopsticks and began to eat, trying to make it look as casual as possible. She doesn't want the Akatsuki member to know that she's suspicious about them. Sakura would peer over at them every few minutes or so.
The Akatsuki member was eatting, too. They seemed to not pay attention to her. Another minute went by and Sakura looked back at them. This time, she got a glimpse of their hand. Sakura noticed the ring on their right wed finger. Her heart jumped into her throat.
Sakura knew who it was. She had seen that ring before. She had to get out of there. Luckily for her, she was almost finish with her meal. So quickly she did, then she paid her bill. Sakura grabbed her umbrella, opened it up then turned to leave.
Little did she know, when she had opened her wet umbrella, some of the rain drops on it flew off and landed on the Akatsuki member. The Akatsuki member turned to look at her. "Excuse me miss, but you seemed to have gotten me wet with your umbrella." The Akatsuki said.
Sakura frozed in her spot. She definately knew who it was by their voice. "I'm s-s-sorry." Sakura stuttered. The Akatsuki member didn't respond. Sakura looked back. Big mistake. The Akatsuki stared at her face as her eyes widened. Yes, she knew who it was, despite the fact their collar covered the lower half of their face and the straw hat their wore with drapes hanging from it.
Their Sharingan eyes stared at her face. Sakura took a step back. "I-Ita-chi?" She suddenly had the urge to run. But she didn't. She forced herself to stay in that one spot. Though, the menacing look that the Uchiha was giving her was saying otherwise. Sakura swallowed hard.
"L-longer time no see. S-so, how ya b-been?" Sakura forced herself to speak. Itachi stood up, but still stared at her quietly. Sakura thought desperately on what she should do next. Her legs began to shake. Sakura gulped again, despite the fact that her throat was dry.
"Anyway, did you miss me? Because... I did. Yeah. I was thinking about you alot. You know? All the things we did together and some other things?" She said. "I mean, you are a nice guy after all. And I just want to say thanks for everything." Sakura smiled.
Itachi's expression changed. He deactivated the Sharingan. "Sorry about that." He said. As he turned around to paid his bill, Sakura took a few steps outside. The rain had stopped. Sakura held her umbrella and decided to keep it open-just in case it would rain again. Which was a high possibility that it would.
Itachi stepped outside a moment later. Sakura looked at him. "Let's get out of here before it begins to rain again." Sakura said. Itachi nodded. They began to walk towards Sakura's place. Sakura, of course, lead the way. Half way there, Sakura thought: What the hell am I doing? Why am I taking a missing-nin to my home? This is so stupid. What if he attacks me?
But she continued to lead him to her place anyway. Sakura was having mixed feelings for Itachi. One minute, she hated him. The next minute, she thought the opposite. Sakura sighed loudly. Which one should she stick with? Should she like him or not? Sakura didn't know which one to choose.
Sakura felt his hand on her shoulder. The cold of his hand seeped down the sleeve of her shirt. Sakura moved a little faster. A few minutes later, they were at her place. Sakura was washing her hands and humming to herself in her bathroom.
Itachi, being bored, grabbed a book and began to read it. After Sakura dried her hands, she made her way to her living room. She sat down next to the Uchiha. There was something on her mind and she wanted to tell him about it for awhile.
Sakura cleared her throat, grabbed the top of the book and pushed it down. She stared at Itachi's face. "U-uh, Itachi?" She started. "Yes?" He stared at her, waiting for her response. Sakura cleared her throat again. "There's something I really want to tell you." Itachi nodded. "Go on."
--
After her talk, silence fell over the room. Sakura looked around her living room nervously. Itachi blinked, but didn't say anything. Sakura looked back him. "So, what do you think? Do you believe me?" Sakura stared at him, waiting for his answer. After a moment he said, "Yeah."
Sakura sighed of relief. "So now what?" Itachi didn't respond. He continued to read his book. Sakura thought to herself for another minute. Then, without warning, she hugged the side of the Uchiha. He dropped his book. Sakura smiled. "You're so warm." She commented, hugging him tighter...
