Chapter eight

The land of fall

I had ran for three days. It took me three days to run across five lands. My heart hurt the whole way. I was surprised yet not really surprised that my dead heart was hurting. She was my heart, she made my heart want to beat again, with out her I hurt.

Looking up at my old home the castle seemed darker. Less kept in unlike the last time I was there. I could feel her in the castle. I knew right where she was. I just had to make sure Sasori didn't know where I was. I slowly crept closer to the library. It was kinda morbid to think that he would bring her here when this was the one place I couldn't go to. The door was cracked a little. I pushed it open a little more so I could see in. She was standing in the middle of the room holding her self as she shook with fear.

I could see the sadness in her eyes. It killed me to see her like this. We only met two months ago, and I know she's my soul mate. I'll save her from him. I swear I will. The bruises, oh god the bruises! How can a man like that live? No longer will he live. Immortal or not I will kill him!

He appeared in the library then, his back to me. I knew she didn't know I was there. She's a human so she can't tell if a vampire is close or not. I start to move to the door, slowly, inch by inch, and then he moves to in front of her. "Where is he? The vampire that you fell in love with? Don't lie to me I can smell him on you!" He yells. "I d-don't know any vampires besides you!" She yelled back as she backed away. "You liar!" He smacks her in the face so hard it makes her fall.

I then move in and pounce on him. We both hit the floor hard with me on top. I punch him in the face as his head hit the flood under him. He roles over and cuts my shoulder with a knife I didn't know he had. I gasp and kick him off of me. When I stand up he has a hold of her. I look at him. "Please. Please don't kill her." Sasori smirks as he falls backwards out the window with her in his arms. I run over to the window and see him run off with her. Heart broken I yell… "Sayuki!" I jump from the window and run after him.

I could feel it. My blood running through my veins felt like acid. My vision went red and all I could see was him carrying my crying Sayuki. She looked over at me with tears running down her face, her arm out stretched to me as she mouthed, 'save me!' I ground my teeth and ran faster. I grabbed Sasori's jacket and pushed him into a wall. Sayuki fell to the ground with a thump. I heard her groan as she crawled away from us. "She's mine... No one touches her besides me!" I growled at him as I punched him in the face.

"Good Gruma, get angry. You haven't felt all the pain yet. Let me kill her so you know how I felt when Deisuka died!" Sasori laughed loudly as he looked at Sayuki.

"Deisuka?" Sasori looked at me with red glowing eyes.

"The woman in the picture, the woman who saved Saku, the woman who loved humans more than her self, the woman who died from the hands of the humans that she saved. The woman that I loved." Sasori looked at me hard as I put the pieces together. He wanted me to know why he made the rules, why he didn't want us to fall in love. He wanted me to know how bad it hurt to have your soul mate taken away. I wasn't going to let that happen.

"No." Sasori opened his mouth to say something but I stopped him. "You knew how bad it hurt when she died. Why would you want someone else to feel the same pain? Why would you want me, someone who you thought of as a son to suffer as you did?"

"I've waited 200 years for her to return.." The glow from my eyes disappeared as I looked at the broken man in front of me. "She hasn't come back. She doesn't want to I guess. I am a monster..." I look over my shoulder at Sayuki who was standing next to a tree watching us. "Since I am meant to be alone you two are meant to be alone as well. You have each other! I let you two have each other so your never alone and look how you repay me!? You go off and fall in love with a human!" Sasori looks at her as his eyes glow darker to the shade of blood. "You will feel my pain!"

Before I knew what had happened Sasori appeared behind Sayuki. Her eyes wide with surprise. I reach my hand out to her as Sasori rips into her neck and drains her of blood. The scream I heard was heart breaking. It sounded like a hurt animal who had lost everything. The part that made it hurt worse was that it was coming from me. I felt the rawness of my throat, the blood that stopped flowing in my veins, and my heart squeeze. My heart finally moved only to be the most painful experience of my life. I appeared behind Sasori and ripped him from her neck. I caught her body before it hit the ground. I turned her so she was looking up at me. "I love you.." She said as her eyes slowly closed.

After everything she still loved me. After she found out that I was a vampire she still loved me. I squeezed her body close to me as I cried into her bloody hair. "I'll find you again.. I promise! And I'll save you! I love you Sayuki." I slowly lower her body to the ground. I stand as my bloody hands move into fists. "Are you happy now? Will you leave me alone now?"

Sasori smirked as he crossed his arms over his chest. "Why what do you mean? Don't you need your father in this time of loss?" A tree comes flying at Sasori as he dodges it. I breathe deeply as I try to keep control. "Better be careful you might go into rage. Better yet go into rage. I want to see how much blood will run across the land from your broken heart."

"The only person I will kill is you." Sasori looked at me. "I will kill you, I will make sure you never come back, human or vampire. I will make sure you rot in hell."

I moved closer to him as my eyes glow black. "Hmm interesting. My eyes didn't glow black when I lost my love. What makes your love so special?"

I grab him by the throat "I'm not you. And one day I will be strong enough to kill you"

Sasori smirks. "Until that day you better watch your back." Sasori disappeared.

~Oo~

I barried her under her favorite cherry tree. The flower peddles float grimly to the ground, landing softly on her grave. I kneel be side the grave and cry silently. I will get stronger, I will kill him. I look at my still bloody hands and make a fist. When I see her again I will make sure she lives. As I stand I look up at the tree. I knew right then I that I needed to find Saku.
