I'm time skipping to leaving for wave because I don't know what to do, bye. Also, this chapter is Bella long, both from the normal story itself, it was going to be split into two, and two extra scenes at the end. You can skip them if you really want, they're not really important.

Sakura ticked of items from the list in her head as she stared at her pack. She had wanted to, in fact she did, but Naruto for his disrespect for the hokage, but she was glad for the mission. It would be her first real one as a real kunoichi.

She had gone straight to Belladonna's and Genma's once she was dismissed by the hokage. Bella didn't give much advice, but Genma practically gave a speech. That was normal though, because of their styles of teaching. Genma was the type to mother hen someone the whole way, while Bella gave the basics but left you to figure out the rest. She'd answer a question when asked, while genma will tell you what to ask. Having one or the other may have been annoying, but together they were perfect.

Sakura spent her time while Genma was talking sitting in front of Belladonna as she braided her hair. Sakura hadn't really thought of it, but she missed how her mother would do her hair when she was younger. Her parents are never home now, so she took that moment to appreciate having Belladonna there for her.

Before they ushered Sakura home to get packed they each gave her something. Belladonna gave her an old cloak of her's that would benefit Sakura with waves' conditions and Genma gave her a medical bag, also one of Bella's old things. He packed it with enough supplies to fill an entire store.

As sakura walked to the village gate she thought of a remark Genma made. He had mentioned that she had the same build as Belladonna did at her age. He smirked when he said it. Sakura scowled now. Although they may have been similar at twelve, Bella looked a lot different now. Considering her mother, Sakura wasn't sure she'd ever look like that.

She schooled her features into a smile as she approached Tazuna and her team. Kakashi got there soon after, apparently he was capable of being on time if he wanted to, and they all set out in a good mood.

Sakura tuned out Naruto as he yelled about his excitement at being out of the village for the first time. Sakura had gone many times on trips with her parents. She always found it so peaceful, the view was so nice, and if she were to be honest, her gaze wandered to Sasuke many times. She was snapped out of it however, when Kakashi-sensei suddenly yelled out.

She let out a scream as the two men who hopped out of a puddle, one she should of noticed as unusual, cut her sensei into pieces. She thought quickly as she jumped back into a position to defend Tazuna. Naruto was frozen, but Sasuke quickly jumped into action. He pinned the ninjas' chain weapons to a tree and kicked both of their heads. However they just detached the chains and charged at where Sakura was with Tazuna.

"I have to stop them!" Sakura's mind screamed. She pushed Tazuna behind him and yelled for him to stay back. Her mind raced. She had a kunai raised in front of her but she knew it wouldn't stop their weapons. She reached her hand into her kunai pouch. She wasn't taught much about weapons from Genma besides basic upkeep, but she could throw a few senbon with decent aim, and Genma had given her some for traps. She pulled back her arm, her eyes taking in every detail of her surroundings. As her arm moved forward she saw Sasuke begin to run. As she loosened her fingers to release the senbon she saw Sasuke go open armed in front of her to protect her. As the senbon sailed over his shoulder she saw a puff of smoke behind the ninja. As the senbon burried into the ninja's face she saw her sensei grab the other one. As the ninja faltered as a senbon went right into his eye she saw kakashi catch him in a choke hold with his arm.

Sakura relaxed as she recognized her sensei had saved them, dropping to her knees on the ground. She saw the logs on the ground where he was attacked. Genjutsu, she really needed to work on it.

Kakashi addressed Naruto to apologize for being late to save him. Naruto looked horrified that he'd done nothing to help. "Good job sasuke, Sakura." Sakura smiled at the recognition. "Naruto, stop moving around." Naruto had began to run at Sasuke. "these ninja have poison on their claws. Moving around will cause it to spread. We have to drain the poison and patch it."

"I can do it, sensei!" Sakura stumbled to her feet. Kakashi looked skeptical. "I've been taught to do it and I've practiced it before. I can." Kakashi stared at her for a moment.

"You'd need proper supplies for that, Sakura." He told her. Her response was to pull out her med bag and open it to show him the contents. His eyes widened, but he nodded to give her permission. As sakura sat Naruto down to dress his wound she tuned out what Kakashi was saying to Tazuna.

[Time skip, writing block is a bitch]

Sakura remained much more vigilant than before as they continued to wave. She didn't want to get caught off guard again. She sucked in a breath as Naruto suddenly jumped ahead and started yelling. He suddenly threw a kunai through a bush. They all froze for a minute.

"uh, it was just a mouse, false alarm."

"Yeah, right! You're so obvious, stop fooling around!" Sakura yelled at him. He only continued to jump around and throw more kunai. Honestly, Sakura thought, could he not take anything seriously?

"Those kunai are weapons, not toys." Their sensei scolded him.

Sakura went up behind him and hit him in the head, making him fall. "Cut it out, idiot!" They then heard rustling from where he had thrown the kunai. He'd almost killed a white rabbit. Tazuna started yelling, as Naruto hugged the bunny, apologizing, and Sasuke scoffed as sensei sighed.

Sakura, despite her annoyance, almost smiled. She was sort of happy. This wasn't what she imagined for her team, but-

"Look out!" They all ducked to the ground as a sword came towards them.

(This is the normal length. I would end it here but… I'm not. You get to the end of the fight.)

A man jumped down to land on the giant sword, now lodged in a tree. Kakashi addressed him as Zabuza Momochi. Naruto had began to run forward to fight him but Kakashi stopped him.

"He isn't like the other ones. He's on a whole nother level. I'll need that for this… it may get treacherous." His hand had moved to his forehead protected covering his eye.

"Kakashi of the Sharingan eye, correct. Not bad, but you'll have to hand over the old man."

"Manji formation, protect Tazuna."

Kakashi revealed his sharingan.

"in the most there was a standing order to kill you on sight. You were listed in our bingo book as the man who complied over 1000 jutsus. The copy ninja. Now, enough talk I have to exterminate the old man. And if I have to eliminate you first, so be it."

Zabuza quickly moved to the water and began building up chakra. A most descended over them as he cast his jutsu, putting everyone on edge. The blood lust he let off put sasuke into a state that he raised his kunai to himself.

"Sasuke, you're safe. I will not allow my comrades to die. I promise." Kakashi's words snapped Sasuke out of it.

"I wouldn't be so sure." Zabuza appeared inside their formation, knocking them all away from each other. Kakashi charged in and stabbed him, revealing a waterclone. Another Zabuza appeared, stabbing kakashi, but he was also a clone. This continued but sakura didn't follow it, she caught her breath and ran back to Tazuna. She watched with baited breath as her sensei. She gasped as he ducked being cut in half and was then kicked away. He landed in the water, allowing Zabuza to put him in a water prison jutsu. He then sent a water clone at the genin.

"You call yourself ninja. You're a ninja when you've hovered between life and death so many times it doesn't faze you. When you've killed so many that you appear in my bingo book. Calling upstarts like you is an insult." The clone kicked Naruto, causing his forehead protector to fly off. Zabuza stepped on it and declared the genin to be brats. Kakashi told them to run but none of them would.

Sakura gritted her teeth. There was nothing she could do in this situation. She could only watch as her team mates tried to fight Zabuza, and make sure no clones came to attack Tazuna. Eventually, Sasuke and Naruto made a plan that got Kakashi out of the water prison. They didn't even consider Sakura for help.

Kakashi and Zabuza fought until, when Kakashi was a bout to finish him, a tracker nin took Zabuza out with senbon and took him away. Kakashi collapsed, and they had to carry him from there on.

I skipped the sharingan explanation cause I don wanna do it.

Fun fact, I almost made this story set in a non massacre au.

I may start doing bigger chapters, but I'm not sure. What do you think?

And to apologize for the long absence, here is a random scene I wrote. You can skip it if you want.

This is Kakashi's view on Belladonna.

I walked down a dark hallway, still smelling of sweat and blood from my mission. I moved swiftly until I heard my name called. I turned.

"Hatake." The young woman's voice was calm and sturdy, neither warm nor cold. She was about two year older than me, 16 or 17. I recognized her even without the uniform that showed her rank. I bowed as I responded simply, "captain."

"May I ask what you are doing?" there was now an underlying steel to her voice, an unspoken command that would only come across through the speech of someone with power.

"Going to get a new mission, taichou."

"Oh? That's quite a bit of blood, have you had a medic look over you?" she asked. I tensed and prepared to lie.

"It is not my blood, I am fine." She frowned this time, disappointment showing clear on her face.

"Do not insult me, Hatake. That blood is too fresh to be from anything but a still flowing wound. Now, I expect you to be in the village recovering for the next twenty-four hours. If I hear you've taken a mission I'll take you off roster for a month." I almost yelled out, it would be been the most emotion is of felt in awhile. What was the point of healing when the injury didn't hurt, why be careful of your life when everything you lived for is gone.

"The hokage would never let you. Not in the wake of the war." I told her.

"I would simply have to pick up your slack and I would gain permission. Go get your wounds dressed." She went to walk past me, but when she pulled up beside me, she stopped. Putting a hand on my shoulder she said, "I know minato was your sensei, I know you are grieving, but if he was here the last thing he would want is for you to go dark like this." And then she walked away.

I didn't see her often. For years it was just glimpses of her in the halls and during briefings. The next time I talked to her was years later, when I noticed the shadow she had picked up. It was a light conversation about the prodigy she was looking after. We've been on missions together, but besides that we never spoke. All I knew of her was rumors when beyond the field.

I hadn't seen her at all since I left anbu, so why now was she in the clearing casually with my students?

I never expected belladonna of all people to be the sister sakura spoke of. I assumed she would be a career chunin, maybe a jonin, although I knew most him in and none were a couple outside of clans, and I doubted they would allow that. I wasn't even sure they were a couple back then, though I did hear a rumor from some anbu and the gate guards that genma had proposed around that time. I suppose it makes sense.

She'd always loved kids, I'd seen how her demeanor changed when she was around them, even when I only saw her as a normal, cold, anbu captain. It wasn't strange to hear of her standing up for one. This team seems to of gotten more interesting.
