Lucius slid down a hill of mud and grabbed a tree branch to swing himself upwards. He crept through the treetops as he passed a convoy of a few Empoleons, the fact was something he was used to; both sides of the war had at least on forces on every continent. Lucius stayed silent and still as the Empoleons passed by his tree and when they gone he moved forward with his mission. He touched the obsidian knife in his pocket and let a breath as he dropped to the forest floor. Lucius had gotten word from one of his contacts that there was a Freedom Fighters outpost nearby and he was bent on destroying it. Soon he felt someone pulling on his mind wanting to speak to him telepathically and when he opened up his mind he wasn't surprised by who it was.
"Lucius, do you know exactly when you'll be back?" Emily asked him.
"I hope an hour and a half, why?" Lucius asked her.
"There have been a few convoy coming close to the house, I think they're about to attack." Emily told him.
Lucius cursed under his breath as he turned on his heels and sprinted back to house. From his location it would take him half an hour to get back, but he couldn't running into any of the convoys prematurely. As he got closer to the house he sprinted up a tree tall enough to where he had a clear view of the house, and when he saw a few convoys dragging Emily and Leaf out he leaped from the tree. The flying insignia on his tattoo lit up and soon he was flying through the trees, but he didn't plan well for the actual attack as he slammed into a Machoke at full speed. As he got to his feet he had a huge headache and his vision was swimming slightly. He closed his eyes and got into a battle stance focusing on the convoys breathing. He knew where Leaf and Emily were because he familiarized himself with their breathing pattern earlier and Blaze and Ice were still in house.
"You made a big mistake." Lucius told the convoys.
"Oh, you're trying to say that we made a bid mistake. You could've joined us and saved yourself from the pain we're about to inflict on you." One of the Garchomps told him.
"Yeah, and after we're done with you we'll have some fun with these two bitches." An Empoleon told him.
Emily smiled as she realized the Pokemon's mistake as Lucius' eyes opened wide, and to everyone surprise his whole tattoo started to glow a bright golden color. He disappeared and one by one the convoys started drop dead, and when Lucius reappeared he wrapped his arms around both Emily and Leaf.
"You two okay." Lucius asked them through labors breaths.
"Yeah we should get you somewhere to rest." Leaf told him.
"Not… here… too dangerous." Lucius replied as he started to go unconscious.
"Ice, Blaze come on, we need to leave." Leaf told them as Emily tried her best to keep Lucius on her back. "Are you sure you can carry him all the way to the Restistance outpost.
"I have to try at least." Emily replied through gritted teeth.
Leaf only nodded as she and her family walked in front of Emily.
"Emily I know you'll try no matter what, but I'll end being too heavy for you to carry." Lucius told her, his barely above a whisper.
"Don't say that Lucius." Emily told him. "I'll stop at nothing to keep you alive."
Lucius kissed her neck gently before rest his head on her back as she walked steadily along, but after getting half of the way there she collapsed to one knees breathing heavily. Soon Leaf, Blaze, Ice were around her rolling Lucius onto his side as he threw up. When Willis came crashing through the forest to them Leaf got into a defensive position between him and everyone else.
"A scout for the outpost told me that he saw a group coming our way and thought he saw our with them, and I came to help." Willis replied as he gingerly stepped around Leaf and gently picked up both Emily and Lucius. "Follow me."
Leaf had no choice but to follow Willis the rest of the way to the camp and when they all got there a team of medic rushed over and carried Emily and Lucius to the emferiary tent, but when Leaf tried to follow them Willis held her.
"They don't know why Lucius collapsed and the same for Emily, but I do." Leaf told him, her voice rising.
"The leader has collapsed from reaching too far into his powers before it is not a surprise and we know the girl collapsed from exhaustion. You'll be able to see when the medics are done." Willis told her inching away.
Leaf suddenly could tell that Willis was slightly like a man child, retreating into himself when he is afraid, and she instantly felt bed.
"What's your name?" Leaf asked him.
"Willis, and yours?" Willis asked her.
"Leaf." She replied as they got into a deeper conversation.
Soon after an hour and a half of waiting Leaf was led to a tent where a nurse told that Emily was awake, but Lucius was still resting. When she got into the tent Emily hugged her tightly and leaf returned the hug.
"They said he'll be alright." Leaf told her.
"Yeah, I know, I just wish that I knew how I could help him." Emily replied while gently touching Lucius' shoulder. "We're going to go foraging for some food; why don't you join us?"
Leaf nodded as she followed Emily through the outpost which was now looking to her more like a small operational village and when she got to the foraging group they were all looking at her like she was a goddess.
"I had told them about your amazing green thumb, and now they can't enough of now." Emily told her.
Leaf nodded as they followed the group into the forest with a determination pace Emily was used to, but Leaf was trying to quickly match their pace with little success.
A blood red Lucario was watching the whole thing from his throne of bones as Alabaster came into the room.
"Sir, as you know Lucius and Emily have gotten away, but we have our spy within the compound keeping an eye on both of them." He told him.
"Good, everything is falling into place, ready the hunters to capture him while he's at his weakest." The Lucario told him.
"Yes sir." Alabaster replied while backing out of the room.
