Barriss Offee POV:
The sunlight shined in my eyes and burnt on my skin. I breathed in the fresh air and let it out. I immediately searched for a way to escape, but felt Master Skywalkers eyes on my back. He would be the last one who would come to me if it wasn't really that important. But whatever happened to Ahsoka, it did not turn out well for her.
Did something actually happen to her? What if it is a trick? If she isn't even ill or whatever she seems to be. But I could feel guilt coming from the Jedi, though he tried to hide it. What if this all was a trick? No. The guilt I felt beside me left no doubt. This wasn't a trick. Something happened to her.
I saw the shuttle landing in front of us, it opened it's back and I saw more clones. Just great. The clones around me pushed me forward and I went with them and continued looking down at my feet while we walked into the shuttle and the clones let me sat down, so I did. And again I felt master Skywalkers eyes on me.
I faced him and looked at him, but I was surprised as I did not saw hate in his eyes, like I suspected. I saw guilt, sadness and hope. Nobody said a word until Captain Rex came and started talking.
"Where is the Senator, Sir?"
"She is waiting at Ahsokas side."
"Will she be okay?" asked the Captain.
"The doctor does not know. Nobody knows anything …"
The master sat down and rested his head in his hands and he sighed frustrated. The shuttle landed rough and I groaned. It opened its back and the clone on my left side gaped my arm and pulled me on my feet. I shot him an angry look before I followed the other clones. In front of the entrance stood a lot of clones, I stopped counting after time.
I saw the Temple-Guards inside the building and swallowed. There was no way to escape if they were around. Why are the Temple-Guards here, anyway? Is it because of Ahsoka? Is she in danger? Or is she … danger? Why did she even come back in the first place? There were so many questions in my head and they did not wanted to calm down. I took a deep breath as we went into the building.
The nurses looked at me and I felt that everyone was completely quiet. I noticed as we went to the elevator on the end of the floor that there were no patients. All rooms were empty. Am I the reason nobody is here? Does anyone even noticed that the rooms were empty? I could tell the Captain did because he whispered something to the Jedi-Knight.
I sighed as we went entered the elevator and a silly typically elevator-music started to play. I looked at the clones beside me. I wished I would know what they are talking about, since they can talk with others in their group without being heard outside.
Were they talking about me, or Ahsoka? Maybe they are talking about something else. Are they even talking?
Finally the elevator door opened in front of us and I was surprised as the whole floor was black. A ceiling light hang down and flickered. The walls of the rooms were destroyed and everything laid on the ground and you had to watch your step. I could here voices calling after me and I tried to ignore them.
We reached the room Ahsoka would be in and the door was locked. Jedi Master Skywalker walked up and knocked on the door.
"This is us, please open." He said and I heard the sound of the door opening. The Senator looked at us like she had seen a ghost, but I did not looked at her for too long. The clones waited outside the room and it was just the three of us in the little room.
My gaze fell onto Ahsoka. She laid there like she would sleep. I saw that something was on her face. Something to cover a … scar maybe. I went over to her and felt their eyes on me. I gentle waved with my hand over her face and could tell there was something. I used the force and liftes whatever Ahsoka had tried to hide and saw that giant scar across her once pretty face.
We all gasped and Master Skywalker walked up to her side. Nobody found a word to say. I was in something like a shock. I was the reason she had left the order because I lead her to all of this and now I see this scar, but I could tell her former Master was more shocked. He stared at the scar and swallowed.
I had heard that someone had tried getting into the system of the temple to find out the position of a person and he was on the path to that person and they fought and he hit the person in her or his face and left a scar on it. Could it be … Could that person be Ahsoka? I looked at the Jedi and his view told me the answer. He had done this to her.
He cleared his throat and turned around to the Senator.
"What happened out there on the floor?"
"There were soldiers made of black sand. The clones tried fighting them but they shot through those black soldiers. They walked over their dead bodies and took their souls. I locked them out and could only watch them killing every single clone."
"Where did they come from?"
The Senator hesitated before she opened her mouth.
"I don't know …" She made a pause before she opened her mouth again. "Ahsokas arm somehow glowed a little in a dark red as they came out of nothing and stopped to glow as they disappeared."
"Are you saying she caused this?!" His voice got loud and I felt myself wincing somehow.
"No, of course not." She stood up. "It might be that power she talked about as she was in my apartment, maybe she had no control about it anymore."
I turned around to them. The Jedi looked at me.
"Barriss we need you to wake her up."
"Why?"
His few showed me again hate. Pure hate.
"She has to be awake to control the power which entered her." said the Senator calm.
I sighed and looked at Ahsoka.
"Fine, but I need you both to stay quiet, if I cannot concentrate she might end up even worse."
I went over to the left side from Ahsoka and looked at the dark red lines on her arm. It made me shiver as I went with my hand above her arm and I could feel the dark side, hear the voices I had heard on the floor.
The lines went from her hand up to her shoulder and even reached for her neck and upper chest. I could feel their eyes on me and looked at them. The senator looked away but Anakin Skywalker faced me. His expression changed as he looked down at Ahsoka. I could feel his guilt. I almost felt sort of sorry for him.
I opened one window and let fresh air in. I put the little blanket from the chair beside Ahsoka and laid it onto the ground. I took a candle and put it in front of me onto the ground and watched the torch, after I knelled down onto the blanket and laid my hands onto my lap. I whispered a few words in another language and felt their eyes again on me. I opened my eyes and saw the torch changed its color from red to blue. Good. First step worked.
I could tell both did not trust me right away, but I could help Ahsoka and I will always help her if I can. We are friends. Best friends. She visited me after she left the Temple. She told me that she understood why I did what I did. I wanted to show her the truth. She needed to know. I sighed.
I hold my hands into the blue flame. The flame did not hurt, it did not burn. It healed somehow. I don't know myself what I am doing. I hold them some more into the flame and went then over to Ahsoka. I hold them above her head and went down from her head to her feet to see if she was hurt, to be able to heal whatever she has.
Her body was fine. Nothing broken no inner bleeding's, but I felt a disturbance as I was above her head. I could tell something wasn't right. She seems to have a big inner wound on or inside her brain. Do the doctors know about this? I went back to the flame then to her head. Wow. It is really a big wound and some little parts of her brain even died! Could she really have …
"Are you done yet?" asked the Jedi.
"Does she looks awake?" I barked back and faced his view.
He groaned and I smirked.
"What happened to you?" I whispered quietly to Ahsoka.
I laid my hand on hers as I suddenly saw her memories! She showed to me what happened that evening. I tried to lock everything in my mind but my heart beat fast as I saw her hitting the table over and over again and I saw through her eyes who did that to her. It had bee her own master.
I tried controlling my breath as I pulled back my hand. I tried not to show my shock and swallowed it all down. I continued using the blue flame. I went on for a few hours until the controls showed that her heart started to beat faster and on its own. Senator and Jedi rushed to Ahsokas side and pushed me aside. I groaned a little. I stood at the end of Ahsokas bed and watched her waking up.
It took about a half hour for her to awake. She groaned a little and opened her eyes. She looked at us and her eyes seemed empty. She seemed scared somehow. She continued staring at Master Skywalker. Did she remembered what he did to her? He laid his arm on her shoulder.
"Calm down, Ahsoka. You are safe."
"W-who are y-you?" was her answer. It was almost too quiet for me to hear.
Their jaw dropped to the ground.
