Why Have You Made My Love Untouchable?

Mikulia was wandering around the mansion searching for Lukana; somehow the tailor woke up before she did, so they couldn't talk in the basement like she had hoped. After searching for a very long while, the tealette finally found her friend in the garden sitting against a tree and twirling a rose between her fingers.

I just need to bring up the lullaby as slowly as I can. She takes a deep breath and walked outside; steadily walking towards her friend.

Lukana pulled a few petals from the rose and allowed the gentle breeze to lift them from her hand and take them away. Just as she was about to pull out more petals, the tailor looked up and saw Mikulia a few feet away from her. "Hello Mikulia."

"Hello Lukana, can we talk about something?" The tailor nodded as Mikulia sat down next to her. "What do you want to talk about?"

So much for approaching it slowly. The tealette thought as she took a deep breath.

"It's about the lullaby you sang last night. Why did you sing it all of a sudden?"

. . .

Gumina was making the bed in the basement while Meilis went off to do laundry. After making Mikulia's turquoise colored bed, the aristocrat moved over to Lukana's bed where the tailor's lullaby entered her mind.

"Lukana's song was beautiful, but the last verse is insulting to the Duke. I should really tell her that Sati heard her singing."

After all beds were made, Gumina made her way out of the luxurious basement and back into the main areas of the mansion.

"If I know Lukana, she would probably be in the garden or in her design studio upstairs."

The green haired woman decided to start looking for Lukana in her design studio to start off her search.

. . .

Lukana immediately became confused. "What was wrong with the lullaby I sang?" Mikulia once again took a deep breath before answering. "Well first of all, the rest of us heard you and although we all find it beautiful, I just wanted to know why you decided to sing all of a sudden."

The tailor rubs her stomach and sighs deeply herself. "Well Mikulia, if you must know, I decided to sing because I wanted to let the baby know that he or she is cared for. I know why the Duke and I are fighting, but the baby needs to know that he or she isn't the problem. That's why I sang…to let the baby know."

"Lukana's really bonded with the baby; but the Duke…he has to do the same." Mikulia thought as she looked at the fountain in the center of the garden. "Lukana I understand that this baby means a great deal to you and you love it to no end, but don't you think the baby's father would like to feel the same feeling you have?"

Mikulia rose from her spot and proceeded to walk back to the mansion. Looking back at her friend she says…

"Just think about what I said Lukana; your baby's father has feelings too you know."

. . .

Sateriajis once again sat in his throne with a goblet of red wine in his hand. He was exhausted, angry, and frustrated all at once thanks to Lukana's lullaby. For some reason, the last verse gave him an unknown feeling…

Towards the baby.

We both smile at your slightest touch.

"That verse…it continues to haunt my mind; this feeling that is surging through my body…What is it?"

. . .

Gumina had checked Lukana's design studio with no luck on finding the tailor. "If she's not here, then she must be in the garden." The green haired woman made her way back to the first floor and going through the throne room, she sees the Duke in his throne deep in thought.

It's very clear what he's thinking about; the poor man. He's probably hurting much more now." Without disturbing her childhood friend (who was completely unaware of her presence), the aristocrat continues her way to the garden, but stops when she sees Lukana in the kitchen having some tea.

"Lukana, may I talk to you for a minute?" The tailor lowered her cup and looked at her visitor. "Sure Gumina, what do you want to talk about?" The aristocrat sat next to her and took a moment before answering. "Well, it was about the lullaby you sang. We all found it to be beautiful, but what I am simply saying is that Sati actually heard you and I have a feeling that he is hurting more."

The tailor was unable to speak as Gumina explained the whole lullaby conversation. "Lukana, the last verse insults you and the Duke…It's like you're lying to your unborn child." Without another word, Gumina left the tailor in the kitchen completely speechless.

Lying to the baby…or does the baby even know what's going on somehow?

. . .

Gumina was very steadily walking down a hallway to an unknown area of the mansion with her mind in a fog. "Yes I know that telling Lukana she's lying to the unborn child may seem unusual, but I think it makes sense. I also think that the baby somehow knows that as well." Sitting on an overstuffed couch in an extra room, the aristocrat lets out a frustrated and angry sigh.

"Every single day becomes worse and worse for the Duke, yet Lukana still does nothing about it. If this keeps up…

Who know what will happen?

. . .

The young brunette searched through the mansion's library, hoping that she could find anything that could help at all, but sadly the former princess came up empty handed. "Over a thousand books in here and there is nothing at all that could possible help." Just as Meilis was about to leave, she noticed something about one of the shelves.

A book was missing.

"That's weird; I'm surprised I didn't notice it earlier."

. . .

The former princess made her way down the hallway that lead to the throne room when she heard and angry sigh coming from an extra room. Following the sound, she finds her best friend in an overstuffed couch with her face in her hands. "Gumina what's the matter?"

"Well, Meilis I found out that Sati heard Lukana's lullaby and I'm sure he's starting to hurt worse than ever. Before Meilis could respond, Gumina continued to speak. "What's worse is that I have a feeling that something will go wrong between him and the baby." The brunette put a hand on her best friend's shoulder. "What do you mean something will go wrong?"

Gumina pulled the brunette over and whispered something in her ear. "Gumina are you sure about that?!" The aristocrat sadly nodded.

"Yes Meilis, I am absolutely sure."

. . .

With her friend's words still in her mind, Meilis walked down the hallway that lead to the basement, but was stopped short when she heard a very familiar song.

Hush now my baby

Please don't cry

Dry off both those eyes

Baby please rest your head

Dream peacefully as you lie in bed

You are loved so very much

We both smile at your slightest touch

The brunette soon found Lukana in the den singing to the baby. Meilis thought about talking to her, but decided to check on Sateriajis instead. Taking a small detour, the brunette finds him in the throne room with a goblet of red wine. "Duke?"

After taking a sip he answers. "Yes Meilis, what is it?" Meilis walked a few steps towards him. "Well, I was wondering how you've been doing. I heard the baby kicked again."

"Just the same Meilis; just the same. Nothing has changed at all with the exception of this unknown feeling I have toward the baby."

An unknown feeling?

The Duke asks Meilis to leave him be, which she responds respectfully, Now making her way to the basement, only one thought entered the brunette's mind.

Gumina may be right…

Wow… several questions here:

What is Sateriajis feeling towards the baby?

Can the baby feel what's going on?

Who knows? We'll have to be patient and wait! In the meantime…
