Chapter 7: Arriving to Santalune City and preparing for the gym battle.
Summary: As Alessandra and Chris reach Santalune City for their first Gym Battle, they heal first their Pokemon. Alessandra's Fennekin gets to know Sylvia's past and what relationship she has with Alessandra, Pikachu decides to become Chris Pokemon and while training for their gym battle. The day after Alessandra and Chris try to win their first Gym badge. But will they manage?
Santalune City.
Alessandra and Chris finally reached Santalune City, after going back to save a Pikachu from a swarm of Beedrill and the Shiny Eevee capturing herself, willingly, in one of Alessandra's Poke Balls.
Now the two were ready to train and challenge their first gym leader, but first they needed to get their Pokemon and the Pikachu healed.
They entered the Pokemon Center where Nurse Joy looked up from her computer.
"Hi, may help you?" she asked, smiling.
"Can you heal our Pokemon and this Pikachu?" Alessandra asked.
The nurse looked to the Shiny Eevee, Fennekin, the Pikachu in Chris's arm, Chimchar and the possibility of having more Pokemon inside their Poke Balls.
"Of course, give me and Wigglytuff." she said as two Balloon Pokemon reached the nurse.
The first was a Wigglytuff held two trays where the Poke Balls could be put and the other Wigglytuff was holding two stretcher for the Pokemon.
Alessandra had to admit she was amazed for how a Wigglytuff was holding two stretchers alone but then she guessed she shouldn't be that shocked.
"Please give me the Pokemon and we'll get them healed." she said.
Alessandra put on a tray the Poke Ball that contained her Fletchling and Chris did the same with the other tray with the Poke Ball holding his Pidgey.
Fennekin and the Shiny Eevee jumped into one of the stretchers as Chimchar did with the other one as Chris put the injured Pikachu on that same stretcher.
"Alright, thanks." the Nurse said.
Before the nurse and the Wigglytuff left, Nurse Joy turned to them.
"It might take some time before we heal them so what do you say about going to eat something?"
Alessandra's stomach growled as to let them know that the idea wasn't a bad one.
"Sorry, I think my stomach is reclaiming." she said, blushing. "However it doesn't seem a bad idea."
Chris nodded.
"Alright for when you're back they'll be healed and up to go."
"Thanks Nurse Joy."
The two teenagers left to go to eat something to the restaurant while Nurse Joy and her two Wigglytuff went to heal their Pokemon.
Around 15 minutes later.
The Shiny Eevee was the first to heal, because of her move: Wish and while the Nurse was tending to the other Pokemon with the Balloon Pokemon, the Shiny Evolution Pokemon jumped from the bed and, seeing the door open, she exited it making sure to not be seen.
Well, it would have worked if Alessandra's Fennekin didn't see her but she was still being healed to follow her fellow teammate.
With the Shiny Eevee.
The Shiny Evolution Pokemon made her way out of the room and continued down the hallway, having a precise destination.
For seven years she lived as a wild Pokemon, adding also the three years she lived with her parents, and had learned so many things, like avoiding the humans, while searching her friend, to survive and read, because she needed to remember every city or town she visited in that long seven years.
She only learned to read from a map or other things and a day ago she happened to find the map of that boy, Samuel, and read it only to find the right way for the last two cities to complete her mental Kalos map.
Unluckily he noticed her and that's where the chase started, that brought her to become Alessandra's Pokemon.
She remembered her words seven years ago.
Seven years ago.
A younger Alessandra, that looked around her eight years, with shoulder length brown hair but the same brown eyes of her teenagers years was looking to a younger version of the Shiny Eevee, that was smaller than now, but she still had the pink eyes and the tear shaped birthmark.
The kid was going to leave the city because her vacation ended and she was going to see her friend.
"I have to go back to my homeland." she told the Shiny Eevee. "I so want to let you come with me, but I'm still too young to start my journey. However one day I will start and I will return here in Kalos, and if you're still a wild Pokemon, I want you to become one of my Pokemon...and I think I will recognize you, it's rare to see an Eevee, even more if Shiny, with pink eyes and this curious birthmark. Would you try and wait for me?"
The Shiny Eevee smiled and nodded.
"(Of course!)" she said.
"Alessandra!" they then heard Alessandra's father call. "It's time to go."
"I'm coming." Alessandra called, then she remembered something and took out from her bag a blue ribbon, with a small gem like pendant. "Here."
She tied the ribbon under the neck fur collar, that hid it.
"This is to remember my promise." she said, while getting up. "Well, I hope to see you one day."
The Shiny Eevee watched her leave, feeling that they would meet again.
But what they didn't know it was that they would not meet in the town but somewhere else.
End of flashback.
The Shiny Eevee sighed, stopping and looking to the worn ribbon hidden from the fur collar, it had been seven years since that day...three months later that other accident happened, followed three months later to leave her hometown forever, to never go back.
She remembered that promise, while trying to solve things along the way, but never managed.
She went around the nurse's desk and, making sure to not be spotted from other trainers even If she forgot that since she was now a Trainer's Pokemon she wouldn't be worried, went to a wall where she saw the map.
With Dayla the Fennekin.
As soon as she was healed too, Dayla decided to look for her new teammate, since she jumped from the bed and exited the room, having seen the Pokemon get out and she hoped to find the Shiny Evolution Pokemon.
In the lounge.
The Fennekin managed to find her teammate that was looking to the map with her big pink eyes.
She saw that the Shiny Eevee's eyes brightened as she saw what was the next city after Santalune.
"(Lumiose City! Maybe he's there!)" she cried happily, confusing the Fox Pokemon.
"(Who is there?)" she asked to the Evolution Pokemon, that made a big jump of shock. "(Sorry!)"
The Shiny Eevee turned to see her teammate.
"(Oh, it's you.)" she said, breathing a sigh of relief.
"(What's wrong?)" she asked. "(Who are you looking for? And how do you know my trainer?)"
The last question amazed the Shiny Eevee.
"(How did you know that I knew her?)" she asked.
"(Well, she saved you from becoming that boy's Pokemon, but you decided to become her Pokemon so quickly, it made me starting to question if you knew her.)"
The Shiny Eevee sighed and nodded.
"(It's a long story, I don't know if I'll manage to tell you everything before they get back.)"
"(It's okay, we have still time before our trainer and his friend get back from lunch and the nurse has done with Talon, Chris's Pokemon and that wild Pikachu.)"
The Shiny Eevee nodded.
"(Alright. It all began seven years ago when...)"
Around 20 minutes later[1].
"(...and this is all.)" the Shiny Eevee ended.
Dayla was clearly shocked after hearing that Shiny Eevee's, or better to say Sylvia, tale.
"(Wow...)" was all what she managed to say. "(It's incredible you was willing to spend seven year to try and repair things.)"
"(I know it wasn't my fault, but I hate it when I can't do anything to help.)"
"(Well, with some luck you'll manage to find who you're looking for.)"
"(I hope so...)"
"Oh, there you are!" the two female Pokemon then heard a voice.
They turned to see Nurse Joy reaching them.
"You scared me when I turned to your beds and didn't see you."
"(Ops...)" Sylvia was clearly feeling sorry, knowing that she disappeared first and Dayla very probably went to search for her.
"(Sorry...)" Dayla apologized.
The Nurse couldn't understand their words, but she could tell from their faces that they were feeling guilty.
"It's okay, just don't do it again." she told them.
Both Pokemon nodded.
Then the door opened and Alessandra and Chris entered the center, having eat and ready to start to train after the Pikachu was once again in the wild.
"Is everything alright?" Alessandra asked to the nurse.
"Yes, don't worry." she told the girl. "We have almost finished healing your Pokemon, however."
"Thanks."
Then the two Wigglytuff came back with the two trays holding Talon and the Pidgey's Poke Balls and the stretcher where Chimchar and the cured Pikachu were on.
"Oh, there they are." Nurse Joy said.
Alessandra and Chris went to take their Poke Balls and Pokemon, followed by Dayla and the Shiny Eevee.
Chris's Chimchar jumped on his shoulder while the Pikachu jumped on the floor, but he looked to Chris, gratefully.
The two thanked the nurse and got out, followed by Dayla, the Shiny Eevee and the Pikachu.
Outside, near another route, that didn't bring to Santalune Forest.
"So..." Alessandra started, looking to Chris. "What are you going to do with the Pikachu?"
"Well, he is fine so I think he can go back to the wild.
But the Pikachu looked like he was having other ideas, since he started tugging the boy's pant leg and indicating himself and one of his Poke Balls.
"I think he wants to go with you instead of going back to the wild." Alessandra mused.
"I think I got it myself, thanks." the boy said.
Alessandra sighed.
"Alright..." she said. "I'm going to introduce my Shiny Eevee also to Talon and give her a name."
She went a little ahead to give him some privacy.
The boy watched her go and then turned to the Mouse Pokemon.
"So you want to join me?" he asked him, after unclipping the Poke Ball and, after enlarging it, showing it to the Pikachu.
Pikachu didn't show any hesitation as he touched the button with the paw and got himself captured without any hesitation or struggle.
Chris smiled.
With Alessandra.
Alessandra enlarged Talon's Poke Ball and launched it in air.
"Talon, please come out." she called out the Tiny Robin Pokemon.
The Fletchling came out and looked to her trainer as she knelt down to pet his little head.
"First I wanted to thank you for your help to save the Shiny Eevee, you were of big help."
Talon puffed his chest to show that he was proud of himself and glad to have helped, causing the teenager to chuckle.
"And second...I want you to meet your new teammate, the same Shiny Eevee you helped to save."
The Evolution Pokemon went near Talon and thanked him, together to introducing herself.
When it was done, Alessandra looked to her Shiny Eevee.
"Well, now let's see what name I can give you." she told the Evolution Pokemon.
The Pokemon looked to her and to the end a name flashed to her...and truth to be told, it felt strange, because she felt she heard that name already somewhere.
"What do you say about your name being Sylvia?"
The Shiny Eevee looked to her and nodded.
To be sincere that's the name my parents gave me when I was born, but it's the only thing I don't mind of when I lived with them. the Shiny Eevee thought.
"Alright, from now on, your name will be Sylvia." she said.
The Shiny Eevee smiled and nodded, as Alessandra then got up.
"Well, let's start training for our gym battle." she told her Pokemon.
The Pokemon cheered and Alessandra looked to her three Pokemon, deciding who would do the first gym battle.
Alessandra and Chris, before going back to the Pokemon Centre, decided to see what Pokemon the Gym Leader of this city trained and when they saw it was a Bug Gym, Alessandra decided to use to the end Dayla and Talon, also because she needed still to get used to Sylvia, having captured her just that morning.
"Alright, Dayla, Talon." she said. "You're up for this Gym battle."
The two Pokemon cheered, while Sylvia pouted.
Alessandra giggled and knelt once again down.
"Sylvia, from what I see of your moves you're an experienced Pokemon and I think we need to do some training together before I can use you on a Gym Battle."
The Shiny Eevee still pouted.
"What do you say? Want to help us training for the Gym Battle?"
Sylvia stopped pouting and nodded.
"Alright." she said. "I just need also to go and ask something to Chris and then we're ready."
"Ask me what?" Chris's voice asked from behind her and she turned to see indeed the boy.
"Hum...we know that the Gym Leaders know how to contrast even the Pokemon that have the type advantage and I wanted to train Talon to dodge any super effective moves while training also Sylvia and Dayla." she asked. "Hum, are you okay to train with us?"
The boy thought about it.
Truth to be told he wanted to train alone, but for once he could make an exception since he had the right Pokemon to help train Talon: Pikachu.
"Alright, I can help you."
Alessandra smiled.
"Thanks."
The two started training.
In the near bushes.
What they didn't know was that their training attired the attention of a Pokemon that peeked his head from the bushes to watch Chris's Pikachu and Alessandra's Fletchling training.
He continued to watch, always hidden, the training and had to admit that he was intrigued by the girl.
To the end, when the boy and girl went back to the city to get some rest, the Pokemon returned to his resting place.
He had the feeling however he would run into them again.
Ok, I'm ending the chapter here, sorry if it's not something special or there aren't the gym battles, but I decided to work on the battle for a week to plan two decent gym battle.
From your votes this gym battle will end with both Chris and Alessandra winning at their first gym badge.
I'm leaving you however a small trailer of the next chapter.
Trailer.
Today was Alessandra and Chris's gym battle for the Insect badge, that would be their first step for the Kalos League.
Alessandra and Chris entered the gym.
With Alessandra challenging the Santalune Gym Leader, Viola, first, she's in for a difficult battle.
You could see Talon fighting Surskit, that like Alessandra thought, knew a move that could put the Tiny Robin in difficulty, and also then you can see Dayla facing Viola's Vivillon.
Alessandra is pushed to a corner because of Vivillon Sleep Power and Solar Beam attacks, but when she may be lose Dayla starts evolving!
Indeed as Vivillon is about to land the last attack, a newly evolved Braixen used the stick to fire her new move: Psybeam.
Will Dayla's evolution be enough for Alessandra to win her badge?
Alright, not my best trailer, but I hope it's enough. Truth to be told I don't know if it'll be an only chapter, including so also Chris battle or a two parts, it depends on how long it'll be but probably it'll be an only chapter.
The Pokemon you see in the end will appear in a few chapters and if you think that Dayla evolution is too soon, don't worry, I don't plan to evolve Dayla into a Delphox anytime soon, I can tell you that it'll be a long time before Dayla will evolve into a Delphox.
Sorry if this chapter is disappointing, but I wanted to think about the battle more and to offer a more decent version from my past attempts.
Alright, see ya next week 17/06/15 for the battles.
Legendary Fairy.
P.S: To Ms Pika guest, I accept your OC, but can you make her a little older? Also because to me winning the Kalos League at 10 is a little overdriven. I'm doing Ash older not a permanent 10 years old! And to the other guest, you can put your OC.
[1] Sorry, the story of the Shiny Eevee is still a secret and you'll hear it later on the story.
