It's been a while hasn't it?
but hey at least i'm back with more Konse awesomeness!
I still don't own Vampire Diaries.
Kinsey had one special grimorie that she adored above the rest, one that told her exactly what she was, and one that was never far from her.
It was originally her grandmother's, a Celtic witch that had married a Viking Tradesman.
A Celtic witch was not the same as the type of witch Esther was, maybe that's why Esther hadn't liked the path Kinsey had went down, that of a woman whose power was greater then hers and had a closer bond to the spirits, gods and nature itself.
The Bennett's were a line from Greece or possibly Italy since the name ultimately Latin, an ancient line that had one rival.
The Ó hAodha line from Ireland.
The ancient family who had gifted its power onto Kinsey.
"Okay Nana, let's see what you got for me." She opened it.
Whispers filled her eyes, was this was what it was like to read a grimorie as an actual witch.
It wasn't study it was like she was absorbing it….taking in everything that had belonged to her for a thousand years.
"Please…Please Nana I need your help. I know, I know I'm a crime against nature but Kol had been nothing but respectful for to witches and for the Gods' sake he is your grandson! Help me help him!" She begged.
Some whispers favoured her, others didn't.
Candles burned higher as she stood up the whispers getting louder and louder and louder and Kinsey clamped her hands over her years as the voices seemed to scream at her then all at once it stopped completely and she heard one voice.
"Hello child."
Putting her hands down she faced what must be the spirit of her grandmother in the mirror of her room.
"Nana."
She chuckled. "You were the strange one Kinsey. And now I know why….you were never met to be this…."
"I know." She replied taking a few steps toward the mirror and placing a hand on it.
"I can't let Kol die…..but I can't take the curse off the white oak either can I?"
She shook her head. "That power comes from a whole other ancestry that you do not belong too."
"So what do I do?" She asked. "Kol is…."
"Kol is my grandson." Her grandmother replied.
Aibhilin Ó'hAodha stared at the granddaughter she'd watched struggle for a thousand years with her identity, all because her mother had turned her back on nature.
"So…."
"Kinsey you can't break the hold the white oak has on Originals, but, with great sacrifice…..you might be able to save Kol."
"What kind of sacrifice?"
"Kinsey this spell should be done by a witch pentagon, five elders….any less the witch would be dead."
"But I'm immortal." She said frowning.
"And you're untrained. Kinsey, if the clan gives you this power we need you to get yourself trained. Not much, just close family secrets that should belong to you, you're not the eldest member of our line."
"You want me trained? Why?"
"Something's coming, something that'll affect all of your family. And their gonna need you. Maybe not right now but they will, need, you."
"Okay. Tell me what I need to do. Let's make a deal shall we?"
She smiled. "That's my girl."
-KOL AND ELENA-
"Where's your shadow?" Elena asked Kol handing him his bourbon.
"Kinny-darling's going through a phase…so much power, so little time to use it." He flashed a pair of pearly whites. "I'm sure she'll be around soon enough."
"You too are close." Elena stated.
"She's my sister."
"Rebeckah's your sister." She replied.
"Fine then, she's the sister I like….we were the shadowed children, Elijah was tall, dark and noble, Finn was a kiss ass….Mikael beat Nik as much as possible, Mother strived to make Rebeckah a witch just like her and everyone doted on Henrik. They never really bothered with me, youngest son…a craftsman by no doubt but a mischief maker, one who wouldn't amount to much… and Kinsey had our father wrapped around her little finger due to her likeness to his sister. His genuine affection for her and her dislike of all things feminine including our mother's magic belief brought the wrath of the Original witch down on Baby Hybrid. We were always thrown together, she was and is my baby sister….I think everyone has a soft spot for her, including Nik in dark twisted soul. Elijah definitely and Rebeckah because she's a girl…" He said and took a sip.
"She's one of the reasons I do not want Silas awakened, her blood is too strong, too inviting…it's very different. Like Nik's, there's been a ban on her blood for nearly nine hundred years. As far as she know no one has bitten her, if blood is taken from Kinsey it's from her wrist…and she bit it. God help anyone who dares put his fangs next to my sister."
He sounded so serious.
She believed him.
"No else seems to believe Silas exists…why do you?"
"We used to run with witches, Africa in the fourteenth century, Haiti in the seventeenth century, and New Orleans in the 1900s. Even came across a cult dead set on reviving him via my sister's blood….I slaughtered them. They all knew about Silas and how he needed to stay buried. I actually hold witches in high esteem."
"But why Silas? Why are you so afraid of him?"
"They said if Silas rises it would unleash hell on earth. I happen to like earth just the way it is."
-LATER-
Kinsey arrived at the house to find Klaus staring at a figure in flames.
She knew, she knew but her knees gave out anyway, hand over her mouth she stared with tears in her eyes that wouldn't fall.
"What did you do?" He growled out putting a hand on his baby sister's shoulder trying to ground himself and her.
"We didn't have a choice he was trying to cut off Jeremy's arm!"
"Lies! He wouldn't have gotten inside if you hadn't set a trap for him.
"Kol…" Kinsey whispered, "KOL!" She then screamed.
She knew what she was doing but still now as she saw him….
Would it work?
What if it was a trap?
What if…
What if…
What if she was all alone now?"
"You said you were going to put him down too!" Elena protested. "Both of them!"
"I was going to make them suffer on MY TERMS!" He screamed back.
Kinsey's hand went to her pocket.
Good.
It was still there.
Klaus ground his teeth. "I'm going to burn this house to the ground and then when you try to flee I'll kill you both without blinking." He swore.
"You kill us you'll never get to the cure! You'll never be able to make anymore Hybrids."
"You really think I care for an instant about my bloody Hybrids? I want the cure so I can destroy it I have killed you all the second we dug it up but now… we're just going to watch you burn instead….AH!"
The two Originals clutched their heads in pain as the Bennett witch stormed past them.
"Invite him in."
They stared at her.
"Do it!"
Jeremy very slowly said the two fatal words and Kinsey by-passed the magic attack to kneel by Kol and hug the charred body to her chest tears dripping down her face.
She ripped the white oak stake out of her brother and barely noticed the Bennett witch seal them into the house.
Klaus was screaming in the background as she took it out.
The vial filled with glowing blue liquid.
She looked up at the ceiling. "I swear if this doesn't work you can kiss what we agreed goodbye."
Very gently she tipped the glowing liquid through Kol's charred lips and down his blackened throat.
For half an hour she mumbledthe spell in Celtic while Klaus watched what was…
Suddenly she stopped and opened her eyes standing up and backing away from Kol.
Suddenly the Original Badass sought up in burnt clothing and still slightly grey but alive…
She breathed out a smile as he looked at her with wide eyes.
"Hello brother…" She said with happy tears as they hugged each other.
Kol and Kinsey.
Always and forever.
Some Kinsey awesomeness right there I tell ya people!
There you go guys so…
I wonder what kind of deal did Aibhilin make with her grand-daughter? What sacrifice did she make for Kol to live?
Tell me
xxx.
Ali.
