Paul sipped his drink and placed the crystal glass back on the counter. He was one of the few people that were currently populating the hotel bar. As he gauged the room, he only noticed a few other hotel guests, most of whom were couples. It was obvious as to why the bar was so devoid of life, a Jameson alone cost four times the amount is should have. Paul had enough money to throw around though, so it hadn't bothered him.

He checked his watch again. He still had about ten minutes before the rest of his party were meant to arrive. Paul picked up the glass and swirled his drink, the ice clanked against the glass and he decided to down the rest of the liquid. It was late evening, so Paul saw no problem with indulging.

He waved the barman over for yet another Jameson. As the barman got to work, Paul turned his attention to the door. He could see Jon and Colby chatting away as they made their way into the dimly lit lounge. They were early. Joe followed closely behind, he was never much of a talker. He was also slightly worried about why Paul had called them at such short notice.

They noticed Paul from across the room and made for the bar. Colby smiled widely as they stopped next to their boss.

"Hi Paul..." He paused, the smile fading slightly "Oh, sorry... Mr. Levesque."

"It's fine, you know me well enough now to call me Paul." He laughed as he greeted all three of them. He would have usually started by inviting them to sit down, however Jon had already seated himself and he was well into the difficult decision of what drink to have. Joe sat on the bar stool next to Jon and looked Paul's way.

"Why did you want to talk to us?" Colby asked, sitting down on the stool next to Paul. Colby was always so happy and upbeat. The smile never left his face, and sometimes that annoyed Jon. How the fuck could anyone be so happy all the time?

"Well... I have some really great news for all three of you." Paul started, taking a sip of the drink that had been placed in front of him a few moments ago along with the shot of Vodka Jon had ordered. Jon looked up curiously, he knew what was coming.

"After speaking to Stephanie, we think it's time to make you title holders... all three of you. Creative aren't to keen on it, but we've managed to convince them to give you a shot. Believe it or not you three are ridiculously popular."

"Are you kidding?" Colby beamed. Joe couldn't help a smile from creeping onto his face. He wasn't ecstatic, but this was a major step up and he was aware of that. He smiled at Colby and then turned his attention to Jon.

"Isn't this awesome?" Colby nudged Jon, trying to get some sort of reaction out of him. Jon felt slightly numb, like the news he had just heard wasn't entirely true. He was aware that this was going to be happening, Phil had told him that, even if it was indirectly. Now that Paul had made it official, it just didn't seem real. Jon stayed focused on the glass in front of him, he tried to wrap his head around this whole situation. It felt as if his fate had been locked in. Now that Paul was going through with it, there was no backing out when it came to the things Phil would expect of him. He didn't dislike those things as such, he would just rather have the option to not do them.

"So this is how it's looking..." Paul began to map out his ideas. Mentioning both the United States Championship along with the Tag Team Titles. Everything he was saying was turning into a blur before it processed in Jon's mind. Only small pieces of information made it in. They would be getting the titles at the 'Extreme Rules' Pay-Per-View in two weeks. He would be beating Kofi Kingston and Colby and Joe would be winning the titles from Team Hell No, Daniel Bryan and Kane. Everything was going so smoothly, all the plans that Jon had made had gone how he wanted. Somehow, it seemed to good to be true.

"I'm sorry to interrupt..." Jon came out of his momentary trance and looked to Paul. "I don't feel great, so I'm going to head up to my room. Thank you so much for the opportunity though. I'm really looking forward to it." Jon forced out the majority of what he was saying. He quickly threw back his drink and offered his hand to Paul, who shook it with a smile. Jon gave Joe and Colby a quick goodbye, before leaving the lounge, and his empty glass sitting on the small napkin where Joe and Colby continued their conversation with Paul.

Once back in the safety of his room, Jon locked the door and sat down on his bed, trying to ride out the overpowering feeling of nerve induced sickness he was experiencing. All of this felt far too surreal. The reality of it all hit him like a ton of bricks.

For some reason, Jon's first thought was to call Phil. He had no idea why he wanted to try and comfort himself in the form of Phil Brooks. He had grown an unnoticeable attachment to Phil after what had happened just a few nights ago in that utility closet. Jon knew now why girls became so damn attached, Jon was doing exactly the same thing, although he didn't want to. Perhaps it was just the fact that for once, someone had real need for him. Girls constantly lusted after the soon-to-be United States Champion, but somehow Phil was different.

Jon took a deep breath, trying to ignore the uneasy feeling and light-headedness that was slowly taking over his body. He took his phone out of his pocket and dialled a familiar number. He knew there was a slim chance of Phil actually answering, but today was one of those lucky days.

"Yeah?"

Phil's voice instantly calmed Jon. The knots in his stomach had been replaced with an precarious feeling that was causing Jon to smile. He had no idea why his body was reacting so strangely to everything that was happening today, but he was sure that Phil somehow, made it all okay.

"Hey... are you free to talk?"

"Um... yeah, yeah... I guess so. What's up?"

"I don't know. I feel kinda strange. I just spoke to Paul and he told us that we we're getting the titles in two weeks. Everything feels really surreal and I feel like I'm going to puke or faint. I'm not sure which one."

Phil laughed down the phone, his voice was soothing Jon for some unknown reason. Jon knew better than to question it though. This was the first time they'd had an actual conversation since that day Jon spent at Phil's house. He wondered for a moment just why Phil had been so cut off since that day. They rarely spoke to each other when they weren't at work. The only thing they had ever discussed was their future sex life together.

"You'll be fine. It's just nerves." Phil spoke down the phone calmly. "Drink some water."

"Okay..." Jon did what he was told without question. In the back of his mind, he knew he had to get used to the idea of Phil controlling and telling him what to do. Jon kept the phone pressed to his ear as he took a bottle of water out of the mini-fridge. "I'm sorry for calling you out of the blue... I just didn't know what else to do."

"It's fine. Well no, I mean you're lucky I answered." Phil replied, his voice muffled slightly by the bad connection. "I don't mean to be rude, but when I'm out I don't usually hear my phone, luckily I'm in my room."

Jon noticed the slight change in Phil. He was acting a lot more laid back and calm, compared to his usual self. Jon questioned why that might be, but for the life of him, he couldn't figure out why. He didn't want to pose the question either, the last thing he needed was to piss Phil off.

"Do you feel better now?" Phil broke the silence. When Jon had allowed his thoughts to run away with him, he'd forgotten to reply to what Phil had just said. He sat on the bed and took another mouthful of water, before replying with a simple 'mmm'.

"Good" Phil smiled. "because I need you to come to my room. Right now."
