The Dark Potter 8
Chapter 8
*Katherine*
"Why?" I questioned Dromeda. Her face didn't reveal what she was thinking, thanks to the Slytherin in her. However, Nymph did express her feelings
"Why? Because she's living with the Malfoys. They are bad people!" Her voice raised to a yell by the end of her rant.
"I was raised by Cissy for several years until…" I froze I don't think it would help my situation to mention that I was not left on the streets after mom was taken, but found my refuge on the streets. Refuge from sympathy, fear, and hatred. Lucius seemed to believe that had I not come around Dad wouldn't have been distracted and killed by a baby.
"Until?" Dromeda questioned. I sighed. I could always bend the truth.
"Until I went looking for Dad myself." I said confidently. Dromeda eyes widened as she seemed to be figuring something in her head.
"How old were you?" I thought for a moment was I nine or ten. I hadn't been to the Malfoy's in seven years, before I dropped of Annabelle, so I must have been nine.
"Nine, and I have turned out just fine." I didn't want to look at the shocked face I knew Dromeda would have so instead I turned to Nymph.
"You will get to see her without sneaking away." I wanted to cringe, I didn't like people making choices for me. Her point was true to my heart. I would get to see Anna more and wouldn't have to sneak around anymore. Plus, I was a little scared to leave her near Lucius.
"Fine, but not because of you. For me and Annabelle." I walked to the giant fireplace and just as I stepped in Dumbledore ran back into the room calling out,
"Wait!" He was too late I was whisked away in a green smoke. When I fell out of the fireplace I lay on the floor couching trying to get the soot out of my lungs. My eyes were watering and I didn't see the wizards surrounding me with their wands drawn.
"Who the hell are you?" A rude voice asked I recognized it as Rabastian Lestrange, but he was in Azkaban. Wasn't he? One of the stupid deatheaters mistook my silence and cursed me with the Cruciatus curse. I screamed out best I could since my throat was hoarse from smoke and soot.
"That's enough. What is going on here?" a calm powerful voice rang out from the doorway of the drawing room. I didn't listen closely enough to know if I knew the voice instead my thoughts were tunneled in on getting Annabelle out of this house. I knew what deatheaters did to little kids they didn't know. I got up onto my knees and with my palms pressed against the floor and whispered 'Bombarda' causing an explosion to shake the ground and knocked everyone else to the ground. I got up and bolted from the room running to where Annabelle was hidden. I made it up the stairs and around the corner before a deatheater appeared in front of me from a cloud of smoke.
"Crucio" He yelled I smirked and threw a protego blocking the attack. His face grew angry before he smirked as well. Noticing his face I turned quickly, but was still hit with a stunning spell knocking me unconscious.
As my brain stirred I began to think about why there was deatheaters at the manor anyway. If I had control over my body I would have jumped for joy. Daddy must be back. The information I figured out gave me the strength to open my eyes. I was suspended upside down in the drawing room. I found deatheater surrounding me. I recognized a lot of them: there was Crabbe, Goyle, Nott, Dolohov, Mulciber, Rookwood, and Snape. I didn't see mom or dad and my worry increased. The Malfoy's were nowhere to be found either. I groaned out loud in frustration. How did I not know Dad was back?
"You're pretty girly." Someone spoke I didn't care who.
"Yea, maybe we'll get to keep you around to have some fun with." I still didn't know who spoke, but the comment made me lose my temper.
"Keep me around? You'll be lucky to be alive when I get ahold of you. Or worse when Voldemort gets ahold of you if you dare lay a finger on me." They snickered at my rant infuriating me even more. I was about to yell again when the door opened I could tell that four people entered the room, but their identities remained a secret.
"Good, you caught her. Who is she?" I heard my father's voice. Normally in this situation I would have laughed or said something snarky, yet all I could do was weep silent tears of joy. No one responded but a gasp was heard from behind me.
"What is it now Bellatrix?" Lucius asked rudely. I almost didn't hear her reply since I was focusing on trying to see my father's face.
"Katherine" She whimpered and I felt myself being lowered to the ground and unbound. I jumped up right away and turned to see my mother and my father? The man had no hair, red eyes, and slits for a nose. I hesitated before running to them, in fear. Instead I ran toward mom who stood to the left of him and hugged her. Even though I had seen her a month-and-a-half ago we never got to have physical contact in Azkaban. I felt a hand on my shoulder I followed its length up to the shoulder then the neck and finally scanned the face of my father. He lightly pushed my shoulder leading me out of the drawing room still clinging to mom. We entered another room and once the door was shut dad let go of my shoulder.
"What I'm about to show you doesn't leave this room. Okay baby? Bellatrix?" We nodded our heads in acceptance. He pulled his wand out and pointed it at himself. I watched the new appearance melt away to reveal the brown hair and eye father I knew. I ran into his open arms.
"Daddy. I missed you!" He held me tighter and kissed the top of my head.
"I missed you to baby girl. I wasn't happy to hear you were in Azkaban though." I shifted nervously and pulled out of his grasp to stare at mother. 'Thanks a lot.' I mouthed. She smirked and nodded her head.
"Daddy, the fools at the ministry for magic put me there for refusing to follow their commands." He smiled down at me and shook his head.
"I know baby girl. I just wanted to hear it from you." I was so excited that I couldn't keep the grin I wore off my face. I probably looked like a fool, but right now I didn't care. My family was finally whole again and this time I wasn't losing them. We eventually had to return to the drawing room where several of the death eaters, including mom's so called husband, seemed very worried. I smirked evilly at them plans of messing with them swirling in my head. My father led me to the head of the table where mom sat down to the right next to Cissy. Dad and I remained standing and dad addressed his followers.
"We are together once again, and this time we will not lose. My daughter is by my side and ready to help lead us into victory!" They cheered in anticipation. I stood silently knowing in my heart I would never betray my parents and I would indeed help them in the upcoming war. My mind, however, focused on the new family members I had met and had quickly come to know and love. I didn't want them getting hurt and if I had a say in it, which I do, they wouldn't be. Silence fell in the room as my dad motioned for me to speak.
"As of right now, I have been accepted by Dumbledore and his followers. I plan to continue my schooling at Hogwarts, and gain their trust. My father and I will let you know when further action is to take place. I know you are restless, but for now stand down and wait." The end of my speech was met with silence, until the sound of a baby's cry filled the manor. I cringed internally and tried to keep my face passive.
"Narcissa, what is that?" Mom questioned her sister. Cissy glanced to me and whispered.
"A baby." Mom rolled her eyes
"Yes that I got Cissy but whose is it?" Again Cissy glanced at me subtly and whispered again
"Someone's" I rolled my eyes Cissy knew Mom wouldn't hurt her, but she was playing on thin ice.
"Sister, every baby is someone's." I cut mom off by standing up quickly. Annabelle was still crying and I couldn't handle it. I ran from the room and took the shortcuts I knew about to reach my old room and hopefully lose anyone who tried to follow me. Opening the door I wanted to scream. Lucius was holding Annabelle by her arms next to an open window.
"You should've stayed away! The Dark Lord thought you were dead and he was focused on the task ahead. Yet, here you are again distracting him. I won't let you get away with it." Vaguely I heard footsteps retreating from the doorway.
"Lucius, think about what you're doing." His faced grew red in anger.
"Shut-up you whore! This is your punishment." He grinned sadistically and let go of Annabelle.
