Hello!

So, as promised we actually updated as quickly as possible. It's only been a week, YAY!

Anyway, please enjoy the chapter!

The Doctor and I were standing apart, while Auntie was at the console of the TARDIS. "I can't believe I'm doing this."

"No. Neither can I. Whoa, whoa, careful"

"Hey spaceboy. When Emma was flying, you didn't say anything!" Auntie remarked. The Doctor ignored her, hammered the TARDIS. "Left hand down, left hand DOWN!" the Doctor screamed, "Getting a bit too close to the 1980s."

"What am I going to do? Put a dent in them?"

"Someone did."

I started to laugh, as suddenly a mobile started to ring. Confused I looked at mine, but the screen was blank.

"Hold on" Auntie said confused while the Doctor went to his coat. "That's a phone. You've got a mobile? He's got a mobile. Since when?"

"It's not mine"

"It belongs to Martha." I pointed out.

"Hello?"

(^.^)

As the Doctor has landed the TARDIS he stepped out. "Martha Jones" I could hear him say.

"Doctor…"

I ran outside. "Martha… ", I said.

"Emma ", Martha replied with a smile. I ran towards her and hugged her. The Doctor hugged her after I let Martha go.

"You haven't changed"

"So don't you."

"How's the family?"

"You know, not so bad. Recovering."

"What about you?" the Doctor asked, as Auntie stepped out of the TARDIS. I could see that that a part of Martha broke as she saw her 'replacement'.

"Right. I should've known. Didn't take you guys long to replace me then."

"Nobody can replace you. And my Auntie is for sure no replacement." I explained with a smile while the Doctor felt awkward.

"Now, don't start fighting", was the only thing he could say. "Martha, Donna, Donna Martha. Please don't fight, I can't bear fighting."

"You wish"; Auntie chuckled. "I've heard all about you. Both talk about you all the time." Auntie said and suddenly hugged Martha. "Thanks for being Emma's friend. She really cares about you."

"Well thanks. About that him talking about me. I dread to think."

"No, no, no. No. He says nice things, good things. Nice things. Really good things."

"Oh, my God! They've told you everything." Martha said and moved her hair out of her face, as Auntie and I recognized something.

"Didn't take you long to get over it, though. Who's the lucky man?", Donna asked.

"Congratulations Martha!", I added.

"What man? The lucky what?", the Doctor asked confused.

"She's engaged, you prawn." Auntie said and Martha showed the Doctor her ring.

"Really? Who to?"

"Tom. That Tom Milligan."

"That guy we met, when we walked over earth?", I asked

"Yes. He's in paediatrics. Working out in Africa right now, and yes, I know, I've got a doctor who disappears off to distant places. Tell me about it."

"Is he skinny?", Donna asked.

"No, He's sort of strong."

"He is too skinny for words. You give him a hug, you get a paper cut.", Donna said while pointing at the Doctor. All three of us started to laugh.

"Oh, I thought you were fighting."

"No. Speaking of which…" Martha said as her walkie-talkie started.

"Dr. Jones, report to base, please. Over."

"This is Dr Jones. Operation Blue Sky is go, go, go. I repeat, this is a go."

"So you made your exam!" I said while following her. Right in front of us was a huge fabric, and many soldier

"Unified Intelligence Task Force. Raise that barrier now." One of the soldiers shouted. "Leave your safeties on, Lads. It's non-hostiles."

We were looking fascinating what was going on in the ATMOS company. Over a loudspeaker we could hear. "All workers, lay down your tools and surrender."

Also Martha continued talking to her Walkie-Talkie "Greyhound 16 to Trap One, B Section. Go, go, go! Search the ground floor. Grid pattern Delta."

"What are you searching for?"

"Illegal aliens." Martha replied to the question of the Doctor.

"This is a UNIT operation" the soldier shouted again, "All workers lay down your tools and surrender immediately."

"B section mobilized." Martha told her Walkie-Talkie and started to run. "E Section, F Section, on my command."

"Is that what you did to her?" Auntie asked the Doctor. "Is that what Emma will be in the end? A soldier?"

(^.^)

After some moments Martha came back to us. We have been waiting outside.

"You're qualified now? You're a proper doctor?" the Doctor asked.

"Well Emma also recognized it already. UNIT rushed it through, given my experience in the field. Here we go. We're establishing a field base on site. They're dying to meet you, Doctor."

"Wish I could say the same." The Doctor said to Auntie and me, before we went into the giant truck (LKW) pulled up.

"Operation Blue Sky complete, sir. Thanks for letting me take the lead." Martha said as she walked through a glass door. And this is the Doctor and Emma Smith. Doctor, Emma, Colonel Mace."

"Sir. Ma'am", Colonel Mace said and saluted.

"Oh, don't salute."

"He is not the soldier type" I explained.

"But it's an honour, sir. I've read all the files on you. And this other Timelord, the Scott." As the colonel said that name Auntie looked at me shocked for a moment and Martha seemed to notice that. "Technically you still on staff, you never resigned."

"What? You used to work for them?" Auntie tried to switch the topic.

"Yeah, a long time ago. Back in the '70s. Or was it the '80s?. But the Scott? That's impossible. She is still… was a child on Gallifrey. She doesn't exist. No more", the Doctor said.

"I guess you would have said the same thing about the Master." I remind the Doctor.

"She got a point", Martha added.

"But it was all a bit more homespun back then." The Doctor tried to avoid the topic.

"Times have changed, sir."

"Yeah, that's enough of the 'sir'."

"Come on now, Doctor. You've seen it. You've been on board the Valiant. We've got massive funding from the United Nations, all in the name of Homeworld Security."

"A modern UNIT for the modern world." Mace pointed out.

"What, and that means arresting ordinary factory workers, in the streets in broad daylight? It's more like Guantanamo Bay out there. Donna. By the way, Donna Noble, since you didn't asked" Auntie introduced herself. "I'll have a salute."

"I like your Auntie" Martha whispered to me.

"I know. She is great." I agreed.

The colonel looked confused at the Doctor before saluting for Auntie. "Ma'am."

"Thank you." "So tell me, what's going on in that factory?"

"Yesterday, 52 people died in identical circumstances, right across the world in 11 different time zones. 05 am in the UK, 06 am in France, 08 am in Moscow, 1 pm in China…" Mace started to report.

"You mean they died simultaneously?"

"Exactly. 52 deaths at the exact same moment worldwide."

"How did they die?"

"They were all inside their cars."

"They were poisoned. I checked the biopsies, no toxins." Martha gave input. "Whatever it is left the system immediately."

"What have the cars got in common?"

"Completely different makes. They're all fitted with Atmos. And that is the Atmos factory."

"What is Atmos?"

"Well, come on, even I know that." Auntie said. "Everyone's got Atmos."

"You all forget, that he is travelling in time. And yeah in my time we don't have Atmos anymore." I replied.

"Thanks Emma. But what is ATMOS?"

"It stands for Atmospheric Omission System. The Atmos in your car reduces CO2 emissions to zero."

"Zero? No carbon, none at all?"

"I always doubt that…"

"And you get Sat Nav thrown in, plus 20 quid in shopping vouchers if you introduce a friend. I told it to your Mum, Emma."

"I remember"

"And this is where they make it, Doctor. Shipping worldwide. 17 factories across the globe, but this is the central depot, sending Atmos to every country on Earth."

"And you think Atmos is alien?"

"It's our job to investigate that possibility. Doctor?" the colonel finished and went through the factory to a small labor, the rest of us following him. "And here it is, laid bare. Atmos can be threaded through any and every make of care."

"You must have checked it before it went on sale."

"We did. We found nothing. That's why I thought we needed experts."

"Really? Who'd you get?" the Doctor asked and looked at Martha.

"She got us." I said to him, while I was trying to check the atmos.

"Oh, right! Me, yes. Good. And Emma, of course."

Martha and the colonel left me and the Doctor. Auntie stopped and asked. "Okay, so why would aliens be so keen on cleaning up our atmosphere?"

"A very good question."

"Maybe they want to help, get rid of pollution and stuff."

"Do you know how many cars there are on planet Earth?"

"800 million" I replied to the question of the Doctor.

"800 million, right. Imagine that. If you could control them, you'd have 800 million weapons."

(^.^)

"Ionising nano-membrane carbon dioxide converter, which means that Atmos works, filters the CO2 at a molecular level." The Doctor explained what we found so far.

"We know about that. But what's its origin? Is it alien?"

"No, but it's decades ahead of its time. Look, do you mind? Could you stand back a bit?"

"Sorry. Have I done something wrong?"

"You're carrying a gun. I don't like people with guns hanging around me, all right?"

"If you insist"

"Tetchy."

"Well, it's true."

"He's a good man."

"People with guns are usually the enemy in my books. You seem quite at home."

"If anyone got me used to fighting, it's you."

"Oh, right. So it's my fault!"

"Look, if you want to continue arguing with each other, give me the sonic and the atmos. Then I could open it, while you still discuss." I said and pulled the things out of the Doctors hand.

"Well, you got me the job. Besides, look at me. Am I carrying a gun?"

"I suppose not."

"It's all right for you. You can just come and go, but some of us have got to stay behind. So I've got to work from the inside. And by staying inside, maybe I stand a chance of making them better."

"She got a point" I said.

"Yeah… that's more like Martha Jones."

"I learnt from the best."

"Well…"

"Oi, you lot." Auntie shouted as she suddenly came back. I nearly dropped the Atmos. "All your storm troopers and your sonics, rubbish. You should've come with me."

"Oh, where have you been?" The Doctor asked.

I was looking on the folder in her hands "I guess she was in the office." "Personal. That's where the weird stuff's happening. In the paperwork. 'cause I spent years working as a temp, I can find my way around an office blindfold. And the first thing I noticed is an empty file."

"Why, what's inside it? Or what's not inside it?"

"Sick days. There aren't any. Hundreds of people working here and no one's sick. Not one hangover, man 'flu, sneaky little shopping trip. Not ever. They don't get ill."

"That can't be right."

"You have been checking out the building, you should've been checking out the workforce."

"I can see why he likes you, Donna. You are good."

"Super temp" added Auntie.

"Dr Jones, set up a medical post. Start examining the workers. I'll get them sent through"

"Come on, Donna. Give me a hand" while Auntie went with Doctor I showed the Doctor his Sonic and its results with the Atmos. He grabbed my hand and followed the colonel.

"So this Atmos thing, where did it come from?"

"Luke Rattigan himself?"

"The Luke Rattigan?"

"That himself would be?"

"Rattigan is a genius!" I started, but the colonel decided to show the Doctor Rattigans file from Unit.

"A child genius. Invented the Fountan Six search engine when he was 12 years old. Millionaire overnight. Now runs the Rattigan Academy, a private school educating students hand-picked from all over the world."

"I didn't like him at all, when he picked me for this."

"A hothouse for geniuses. I won't mind going there….." The colonel looked confused at the Doctor.

(^.^)

"You are not coming with me. I want to talk to this Luke Rattigan. Not point a gun at him"

"It's 10 miles outside London. How are you going to get there?"

"Well then give me a jeep" I said to the colonel.

"According to the records, the Doctor travel by TARDIS."

"If there is a danger of hostile aliens, I think it's best to keep a super-duper time machine away from the front lines."

"It also would warn the enemies that we have a time lord. Don't think from the strategic point that would be so great." I added.

"I see, then you do have weapons, but you choose to keep them hidden" the colonel reacted. "Jenkins"

"Sir"

"You will accompany the Doctor and Miss Smith and take orders from them"

"Yeah. I don't do orders."

"I will maybe." I said with a grin after giggling about the statement of the Doctor..

"Any sign of trouble get Jenkins to declare a Code Red. And good luck, sir. Ma'am."

"I said, 'No salutes'"

"Now you're giving orders.", I joked.

"Getting a bit cheeky, aren't you." The Doctor said with a big smile.

"Doctor" we heard Auntie.

„Oh, just in time. Come on. Come on, we're going to the country. Fresh air and geniuses. What more could you ask?"

"I'm not coming with you." The Doctor and I looked surprised at Auntie. "I've been thinking. I'm sorry. I'm going home."

"Really?" the Doctor and I asked.

"I've got to."

"Well, if that's what you want. I mean, it's a bit soon. I had so many places I wanted to take you. The Fifteenth Broken Moon of the Medusa Cascade. The lightning skies of Cotter Palluni's world. The Diamond Coral Reefs of Kataa Flo Ko... Thank you… Thank you, Donna Noble. It's been brilliant. You've… You saved my life in so many ways. You're…"

"She's just popping home for a visit, that's what she means." I explained

"He's a dumbo" Auntie said with a big smile.

"And then you're coming back." The Doctor asked and felt stupid.

"D'you know what you are? A great big outer-space dunce."

"Yeah…"

"Ready when you are, sir." Jenkins said.

"What's more, you can give me a lift. Come on…" Auntie said and we went to the car. "Broken Moon of what?"

"I know. I know"

"And I stayed here with you and just met Shakespeare from all the things you promised." I said and gave the Doctor a strict look.

"I know. I know"

And then we left the ATMOS fabric.

(^.^)

"I'll walk the rest of the way. I'll see you back at the factory, yeah?"

I nodded, the Doctor shouted "Bye"

"And you be careful. And Doctor, if something is wrong with Emma…"

""I know. I know"

(^.^)

"UNIT'S been watching the Rattigan Academy for ages. It's all a bit Hitler Youth. Exercise at dawn and classes and special diets."

"That's why I denied to go there. Couldn't live without chocolate from time to time"

"Turn left" the navigation system said.

"Ross, one question. If UNIT thinks that Atmos is dodgy…"

"How come we've got it in the jeeps? "

Tell me about it. They're fitted as standard on all government vehicles. We can't get rid of them till we can prove there's something wrong."

"Turn right" the navigation system said.

"Drives me around the bend."

"Oh, nice one."

"I timed that perfectly."

"Yeah. Yeah, you did."

"This is your final destination"

"Wow… that sounds… nice"

As we arrived and walked up the way to school, the students were making exercises and Rattigan was standing and looking at the environment, ignoring us.

"Is it PE? Wouldn't mind a kick around. I've got my daps on." The Doctor said and Rattigan turned around.

"I suppose you're the Doctor"

"Hello"

"And it's nice to see you again Emma Smith. Did you change your mind about the academy?"

"No, I'm here with the Doctor" I said.

"Your Commanding Officer phoned ahead." Rattigan turned to the Doctor.

"Oh, I haven't got a Commanding Officer. Have you? Oh, this is Ross. Say hello, Ross."

"Good afternoon, sir."

"Let's have a look, then. I can smell genius… in a good way. Oh, now! That's clever, look. A single-molecule fabric. How thin is that? You could pack a tent in a thimble. Ooh! Gravity simulators. Terraforming, biospheres, nano-tech steel construction. This is brilliant. I really don't get you Emma. Do you know, with equipment like this you could, ooh, I don't know, move to another planet or something?"

"If only that was possible."

"If only that were possible. Conditional clause."

"I think you'd better come with me."

"Oh oh… you annoyed the poor boy" I whispered to the Doctor while we walked to Rattigan's office.

"You're smarter than the usually UNIT grunts. I'll give you that."

"He called you a grunt. Don't call Ross a grunt. He's nice. We like Ross. Look at this place."

"What exactly do you want?"

"I was just thinking, what a responsible 18 year old. Inventing zero-carbon cars. Saving the world."

"It takes a man with vision."

"Hmm! Blinkered vision. 'cause Atmos means more people driving. More cars, more petrol. End result, the oil's going to run out faster than ever. The Atmos system could make things worse."

"Yeah. Well, see, that's a tautology. You can't say Atmos system, because it stands for 'Atmospheric Omission System'. So you're saying Atmospheric Omission System System. Do you see Mr Conditional Clause?"

"It's been a long time since anyone except Emma said no to you, isn't it?"

"I'm still right though. And as I explain it to Emma all the time, she could achieve great things here."

"Not easy, is it? Being clever? You look at the world and you connect things, random things, and think why can't anyone else see it? The rest of the world is so slow."

"Yeah."

"You're on your own."

"I know."

"But not with this. 'cause there's no way you invented this single-handedly. Might be Earth technology, but that's like finding a mobile phone in the Middle Ages. No. No. I'll tell you what it's like. It's like finding this in the middle of someone's front room, albeit a very big front room."

"Why, what is it?"

"Nah!"

"This looks like a thing, doesn't it? People don't question things. You say, 'It's a thing'."

"Leave it alone.

"Me, I make these connections, and this, to me, looks like a teleport pod. Emma, what do you think?" the Doctor asked me. I went to him and after I stood next to him, he pressed a button. We were teleported to something which I think was a spaceship, around us were many midgets.

"Orbit now holding at 556.3" a computer voice said.

"Oh…"

"Oh? Is that all you say?"

"Sector two, 7-0"

"We have here intruders." One of the midgets screamed.

"How did they get in? In-tru-der window? Bye bye" the Doctor replied, took my hand and pressed again buttons. We were back in the academy. The Doctor ran directly to Rattigan. "Ross, get out! Luke, you'd better come with us." But Luke didn't move and the first midget appeared. The Doctor soniced the teleporter and named the midget finally. "Sontaran. That's your name, isn't it? You're a Sontaran. How did I know that, eh? Fascinating, isn't it? Isn't that worth keeping me alive?"

"I order you to surrender in the name of the Unified Intelligence Task Force."

"I guess that was not the best idea."

"That's right Emma. That's not going to work. Corolaine signal, am I right? Copper excitations stopping the bullets."

"How do you know so much?"

"Well…"

"Who is he?"

"He didn't give his name."

"Now this isn't typical Sontaran behavior, is it? Hiding. Using teenagers? Stopping bullets. A Sontaran should face bullets with dignity. Shame on you."

"Sontaran are a warrior race, if I got that right?"

"That's true Emma"

"You dishonor me, sir."

"Yeah? Then show yourself."

"I will look into my enemy's eyes."

"Oh, my God" Ross said.

"And your name?"

"General Staal, of the 10th Sontaran Fleet. Staal the Undefeated."

"Oh, that's not a very good nickname." The Doctor said.

"yeah, what if you do get defeated?" I continue the conversation.

"Stall the not-so-quiet-undefeated any more, but never mind?"

"He looks like a potato, a baked potato, a talking baked potato."

"Other aliens would say you look like… an ape. A poop throwing ape" I said to Ross in a strict way.

"Now, Ross, don't be rude. And Emma, humans are more like pink weasels to him. The Sontarans are the finest soldiers in the galaxy. Dedicated to a life of warfare. A clone race. Grown in batches of millions with only one weakness." The Doctor said while getting a ball and a tennis wracket.

"Sontarans have no weakness"

"no. It's a good weakness."

"Though you were meant to be clever. Only an idiot would provoke him."

"I would say, only an idiot would work for him." I said.

"No, but the Sontarans are fed by a Probic Vent in the back of their neck. That's their weak spot, which means they always have to face their enemies in battle. Isn't that brilliant? They can never turn their back"

"We stare into the face of death."

"Yeah, well stare at this." The Doctor said, and threw the ball and reached the point in the neck. Staal started to scream. The Doctor took my hand and ran out of the office with me and Ross. We were running directly to the jeep, so that we could tell everything to UNIT.

(^.^)

"Greyhound 40 to Trap One. Repeat. Can you hear me? Over."

"Why is it not working?"

"Must be the Sontarans. If they can trace that, they can isolate the Atmos."

"Turn left" the navigation system said.

"Try going right."

"It said left."

"I know, so go right."

"That's an order, Jenkins" I said as strictly as possible.

Ross tried but, he couldn't do anything. "I've got no control. It's driving itself. It won't stop. The doors are locked." While Ross was freaking out the Doctor used his sonic screwdriver at Atmos.

"Aah! It's deadlocked. I can't stop it. Let me…"

"Turn left" the navigation system said.

"The sat nav's just a box. It's wired into the whole car."

"We're heading for the river."

"Atmos, are you programmed to contradict my orders?"

"Confirmed."

"Anything I say, you'll ignore it."

"Confirmed."

"Then…" the Doctor started and looked at me. "I don't know if this will work…"

"Well, try it, worst thing that could happen is that we die." I said and took his hand.

"Well then… drive into the river. I order you to drive me into the river." The Doctor said. "Do it. Drive into the river."

The car still went, but in the last second it stopped and opened the doors. The Doctor, Ross and I jumped out. We could still here the nav. "Turn left, right, left, right, left, right…"

"Get down" the Doctor screamed. After some moments the Atmos didn't work anymore. "Oh, is that it?"

(^.^)

I was knocking on the door. Auntie opened it. "You wouldn't believe what a day I had" the Doctor said to her. We went outside to the car of Auntie's Mum. The Doctor checked the car, which had Atmos.

"I'll requisition us a vehicle." Jenkins said.

"Anything without Atmos. And don't point your gun at people."

"Let's be fair. He pointed a gun on an alien warrior, not an innocent person." I said to the Doctor.

"Is it him? Is it him? Is it the Doctor?" I heard Gramps.

"Gramps!" I screamed and hugged him.

"Emma, that's a surprise. Donna didn't mention you."

"Oh, thanks Auntie." I said while she gave me an annoyed look while talking on the phone.

"Oh, it's you! You are still around with that guy?" Gramps said as he saw the Doctor.

"Who? Oh? Your Gramps…"

"What, have you met before?"

"Yeah. Christmas Eve. They disappeared right in front of me."

"And you never said."

"Well, you never said."

"Wilf, sir. Wilfred Mott. You must be one of them aliens."

"Yeah, but don't shout it out. Nice to meet you properly, Wilf."

"Ah, an alien hand."

"Donna, anything?"

"She's not answering. What is it, Sonterruns?"

"Sontarans, Auntie."

"Yeah, Sontarans. But there's got to be more to it. They can't just be remote-controlling cars. That's not enough. Is anyone answering?"

"Hold on… Martha. Hold on, he's here."

"Martha, tell Colonel Mace it's the Sontarans. They're in the file. Code Red Sontarans. But if they're inside the factory, tell him not to start shooting. UNIT will get massacred. We'll get back as soon as we can. You got that?" then the Doctor hung up.

"You tried sonicking it before and you didn't find anything."

"Yeah, but now I know it's Sontaran, I know what I'm looking for."

"The thing is, Doctor that Donna is my only grandchild."

"What about Emma, she also calls you Gramps."

"Well, she doesn't have a grandfather, so I allowed her… Well, I have these two lovely girls here. You got to promise me you're going to take care of them."

"They take care of me."

"And Auntie takes care of me" I said.

"Oh, yeah. That's my Donna. She was always bossing us around even when she was tiny. The little General we used to call her."

"Yeah. Don't start."

"And some of the boys she used to turn up with, a different one every week. Here. Who was that one with the nail varnish?"

"Matthew Richards. He lives in Kilburn now… with a man."

"Woah! It's a temporal pocket. I knew there was something else in there. It's hidden just a second out of sync with real time."

"But what's it hiding?"

"I don't know. Men and their cars. Sometimes I think if I was a car… Emma, it's lovely to see you again. Oh, it's you. Doctor, what was it?"

"Yeah, that's me"

"What, have you met him as well?"

"Dad, it's the man from the wedding when you were laid up with Spanish 'flu."

"Do you mean the guy who brought Auntie back, after she vanished?" I asked amused.

"Exactly Emma. I'm warning you. Last time that man turned up, it was a disaster."

"Get back!" the Doctor screamed. "That'll stop it."

"You see he is blowing up my car. Who is he anyway? What sort of Doctor blows up cars?"

"Oh, not now Mum."

"Oh, should I make an appointment?"

"Well, you usually do that to see a doctor." I said.

"That wasn't just exhaust fumes. It's some sort of gas, artificial gas."

"And it's aliens. Is it aliens?"

"Is this poisonous? Then they've got poisonous gas in every car on Earth." The Doctor was looking around and saw on every car around us the Atmos sign.

"It's not safe. I'm going to get it off the street" Gramps said and suddenly the car closed him inside.

"No, don't." Auntie said. "Turn it off" she ordered after the engines have started. "Grandad, get out of there."

"I can't. It's locked. It's them aliens again." The Car honked.

"What's he doing? What's he doing?"

"They've isolated it." The Doctor said, while in every car around us the gas was going out.

"There's gas inside the car. He's going to choke. Doctor!" Auntie screamed.

The Doctor came and used his sonic screwdriver. "It won't open" he said. "It's the whole world."

We still tried to get Gramps out of the car. He was coughing and chocking.

"DOCTOR!" Auntie and I screamed when Gramps fainted.

I hope you enjoyed it. I probably won't update for a while (again!) because I'll go on holiday. Maybe I'll update before that, but the soonest update will probably be in the beginning of August.
