Chapter 8: The fun night!

"Ugh, I'm so tired!" Natsu complained as he laid his head on the dining table and sitting in front of him was none other than Hisui and beside her was Arcadios. On the pinkette's head was a familiar machine and in front of him was a piece of meat on a plate with a fork and knife beside it.

"You've only been doing this for 30 minutes." Arcadios said with a sweat drop. Who knew that the famed Salamander, who was well known throughout Fiore as one of the most powerful mages that had ever graced the land, was such a child?

Well, what should he have expected after the pinkette stole the King's crown after the Dragon's invasion, and he was sober, not drunk like most of the attendees of the party!

"30 minutes too long damn it! I've never done this back at the guild!"

"I'm sure everyone can see that." Arcadios said with a sigh and felt someone touching his gut and looked down to see Hisui looking at him with a small pout on her face and Arcadios sighed, immediately knowing what she wanted.

It wasn't difficult after serving the girl since she was just a child.

Arcadios then snapped his fingers and a few guards arrived, taking off the machine off of Natsu's head while preparing a large portion of meat in front of the Dragon Slayer.

Natsu's mouth watered at the mere sight of the food in front of him but stopped himself and turned to Arcadios in confusion.

Arcadios, noticing the confused look the pinkette was giving him, sighed.

"It seems that Princess Hisui would like today's lesson to be cancelled as she believes that you need to eat in order to be attentive." Arcadios explained and Natsu then turned his attention to the jade haired princess who smiled at him, something which Natsu returned with his signature toothy grin as he begin wolfing down on his food.

The guards watched him in awe and shock while Arcadios rubbed his temples in annoyance at the mere sight of the Dragon Slayer gobbling his food, not even bothering to eat like a proper gentleman to note! All of that hard work put into the lesson was being wasted! Hisui, on the other hand, giggled at the amusing sight in front of her as she placed a hand on her heart, which was pounding faster than normal.

'Just what is this feeling that I'm feeling right now?' Hisui thought to herself before she then turned her attention back to her own breakfast and began eating as well.

Only after Natsu had finished his breakfast where they had continued his lesson, but this time Natsu had enough energy to listen, or better yet, had enough energy to actually give a damn and managed to pass his lesson of the day.

Natsu was then escorted, much to his dismay, to Summer's class.

Natsu was then kicked into the room, grumbling to himself at the lack of respect that was given to him by the guards, and the pinkette looked up and saw the blonde sitting in a chair, wearing a pair of glasses, reading her book silently.

"Uhh, Summer?" Natsu called out and Summer looked up from her book and smiled at the pinkette.

"Ah, Natsu, I didn't expect you to come this early." Summer said.

"Believe me, I didn't either." Natsu said, rubbing the back of his head as Summer giggled softly to herself as she closed her book.

"Well, I'll be honest with you. I don't really have anything to teach you today, so you can leave if you like." Summer said as Natsu's eyes widened in glee at her words.

"Wait, really?!" Natsu asked excitedly and Summer nodded her head and just when Natsu was about to storm off from the room, he saw the glint of sadness in the blonde's eyes. Natsu then sighed before walking back to the room and got a chair before placing it beside Summer, gaining a confused look from her.

"What is it?" Summer asked curiously.

"Well, I thought since I'm going to be here for quite some time because of this mission, I thought I could get to know you more." Natsu said shocking the blonde before a smile made its way to her face.

"Are you trying to win me over like you did Hisui?" Summer giggled and this time Natsu was confused as he tilted his head to the side while Summer waved her hand.

"It's fine, don't think about it too much. Anyways, what'd you want to know about me?" Summer asked curiously as Natsu looked up at the ceiling.

"I don't know, could you tell me a whole lot of yourself, like how'd you managed to get here? Then I'll do the same." Natsu said and Summer smiled softly as she took out her glasses and placed it on her lap.

"I was born in the peaceful village of Sea Breeze and lived a quiet life with my parents there. Nothing eventful ever happened there so it was a massive surprise one day when a carriage broke down right at the entrance of our village and imagine my surprise when we saw the King and his daughter, Princess Hisui, exiting the very same carriage. It was such a surprise that we didn't know what to do, but we gave them the red carpet treatment, just the normal treatment any would give in the presence of a king. They stayed in the village for a few days, until they manage to fix their carriage and during that period of time, Princess Hisui seemed to have taken a liking towards me as she always came over to play with me. And, the King must have noticed it since he offered me a spot here in the castle, to teach his daughter proper mannerism and etiquettes, and obviously I accepted the offer and I've not regret my decision, not yet." Summer finished her story with a smile on her face as Natsu smiled softly as well.

"So, it's your turn to tell me your story. How DID you get into Fairy Tail?" Summer asked curiously as Natsu leaned on his chair.

"Sit back and listen, because it's a LONG story." Natsu chuckled as he said that.

And then Natsu began telling Summer about the times he had with Igneel, silently laughing at her shocked face after discovering that his father was a dragon, and how he met up with Makarov before telling her about most of the events he had partaken during his time at the guild.

"And then I destroyed the Eclipse Gate with just one attack, impressive isn't it!" Natsu said proudly and Summer giggled.

"It sure is impressive, after all, I heard that Princess Hisui and the Prime Minister funded lots and lots of money for the Eclipse Project. It definitely wasn't easy to build, much less destroy." Summer said and Natsu smiled happily at the compliment as Summer took a look at her watch.

"Ah, look at the time. The lesson's already up. I guess the saying "Time flies when you're having fun." is right." Summer said as Natsu got up and stretched his entire body.

"Thanks for the talk, Summer! I'll see you again tomorrow!" Natsu said happily with his toothy grin as he walked out of the room, leaving Summer alone in the room who was smiling to herself.

'That boy sure is something.' Summer thought to herself as she went back to her book.

With Natsu

Natsu began walking through the castle, alone as he wandered through the long hallways.

'I'm bored and both Eara and that silver haired prick are out of the castle on a mission, what can I do to cure this boredom of mine?!' Natsu thought to himself as he sighed to himself.

He then looked forward and saw none other than Hisui walking towards him.

"Hey there Hisui!" Natsu greeted the jade haired princess with a smile and the princess returned it with a smile of her own.

"Ah, Natsu. How are you?" Hisui asked and Natsu placed his hands behind his head.

"Completely bored and that droopy eyes isn't here for me to fight, so I don't know what to do!" Natsu said and Hisui then tilted her head in confusion.

"Droopy Eyes?" Hisui asked in confusion before she realized that the pinkette was talking about Kiyan, making her giggle.

"Well, I'm sorry that you feel bored, and there's nothing for you to do here that could be entertaining for you." Hisui said with a frown before Natsu's eyes widened and a smile found its way to his face.

"Yeah, you're right there's nothing for us to do HERE, but there'll definitely be something to do outside of the castle!" Natsu said with a cheeky smile, shocking Hisui with his words.

"Are you saying that you want to skip today's lesson and step outside of the castle?" Hisui asked in shocked and Natsu got on his knees and placed his hands together, bowing at her.

"Please Hisui, just for one day." Natsu looked at her with his version of the puppy dog look and Hisui blushed at the adorable sight as she looked away from the Dragon Slayer.

"F-fine but just for one day only, alright!" Hisui said as Natsu smiled.

"Thanks Hisui! Alright then, let's go!" Natsu then grabbed Hisui's hand and started running.

"W-wait, I'm coming along too?" Hisui asked in shock as Natsu turned to the jade haired princess and smiled at her.

"Of course you are! I don't want to leave you all alone in a castle this big! Besides, I'm sure you won't mind having a bit of fun every now and then!" Natsu said as he turned his attention back forward as Hisui blushed a deep shade of red as she realized that the pinkette was once again holding her hand.

'I think I'm getting used to his warmth, I really enjoy it.' Hisui smiled softly as she let Natsu drag her to wherever it was he was taking her.

Later

Natsu and Hisui, who was currently wearing a cloak and a hood so that people would not recognize her as the princess, were at a festival that was located nearby Crocus and it seemed to be a massive hit as there were plenty of people in said festival.

"Wow, what kind of festival is this?" Natsu asked as he looked at the brightly coloured LED's that were hung around the lampposts surrounding them.

"From what I heard, this festival was called the "Gratitude Festival". It's where we give thanks for good harvest and such." Hisui explained and Natsu nodded his head in understanding as he watched as kids play some nearby carnival games, laughing to each other with smiles on their faces.

He also caught Hisui's eyes on some of the plushy hung on the top shelves of some stalls.

Natsu then grabbed Hisui's eyes bringing her attention back to him as he smiled at her.

"Now, let's go and have some fun!" Natsu said as he dragged her to one stall and saw an old man leaning on the counter.

"Ah welcome young man. You have three chance to knock down all these tin cans with this metal ball. Knock all of them and win yourself a wonderful prize." the owner said with a smile as he handed the 'metal' ball to Natsu.

Unknown to Natsu, the owner smirked to himself.

'That ball is not metal at all, it's made of plastic and those tins are glued together, so there's no chance for you to knock all of them down, no one can win, haha!' the owner laughed in his mind as Natsu stared at the ball and began rolling it in his hand.

'Bastard thinks he can get away with this, eh? Well, I'll just prove him wrong. No one messes with me!' Natsu then smirked to himself as he pulled his arm back and focused on his shot.

Natsu then threw the ball at the tin cans and the ball not only managed to knock down all of the tin cans but he also destroyed parts of the stall with the throw.

The owner could on stare in shock at the damage that was caused by the plastic ball as Natsu smirked, obviously proud of his work.

"Well I'll be taking my prize right now." Natsu said as the man glared at him as he was left to mumble to himself as Hisui walked up to him.

"That's amazing Natsu! I've never seen anyone who's won festival games like these before!" Hisui said happily as Natsu smiled at her.

"Well, I'm not like most people. Anyways, why don't you pick one out?" Natsu said and Hisui was taken aback by this.

"W-wait but you won, shouldn't YOU be the one who decides?"

"Nah, I don't keep these sort of stuff, besides, I won it for you!" Natsu said with a toothy grin as Hisui blushed at the pinkette's thoughtfulness as she picked a toy figure of what looked to be Natsu.

"Wait, is that me? I don't remember posing for that." Natsu said with a frown.

"I heard that they make all sorts of plushies for famous mages." Hisui responded and Natsu was reminded by the Lucy action figure Max used to sell long ago.

"Ah, right." Natsu said distantly as Hisui hugged her plushy tightly in her arms as she smiled at Natsu.

"Thank you so much for this, Natsu." Hisui said and Natsu smiled at her.

"Don't thank me just yet, we're still not done yet. We won't leave until we're completely satisfied!" Natsu said and Hisui nodded her head.

"That sounds grand!" Hisui then grabbed Natsu's hand as she held his hand.

"Well, let's go, we shouldn't waste any more time, let's enjoy ourselves!" Hisui said cheerfully as she began pulling the rosette through the festival streets.

Natsu then smiled to himself as he let himself get dragged by Hisui.

'Well, at least she's having fun.' Natsu thought to himself before he sighed.

Looks like the night wasn't going to end short, not that he was complaining of course. After all, he WAS the one who recommend it to Hisui, and he would be such a jerk if he was the one who ended the night even when she was having fun.

After that, Natsu and Hisui went to some stalls for some snacks, others to play some more games, in which Natsu managed to win all of them and getting more prizes for Hisui, and finally they see themselves at the end of the street where they saw a jewelry shop.

"Looks like that's the end, let's head on back." Hisui said as she turned back but Natsu stood in place as he eyed the jewelries from where he stood.

Hisui then turned back and saw Natsu talking with the man from the shop before the pinkette started walking back towards Hisui.

"What were you doing?" Hisui asked curiously as Natsu smiled at her.

"Why don't you close your eyes and find out." Natsu said and Hisui was confused but she did as she was told and closed her eyes.

She then felt Natsu's presence behind her but she wasn't afraid, because she trusted Natsu.

"Alright, you can open your eyes now." Natsu said to her and Hisui opened her eyes and didn't see any change as she turned to see Natsu smiling at her.

Hisui then blushed at the sudden smile as she tried to look away from the pinkette.

"What did you do?" Hisui asked and Natsu silently pointed at his neck and Hisui placed a hand on her neck and her eyes widened as she felt something on her neck and she looked down to see a rather beautiful necklace.

The necklace was really elegant on her neck and in the centre was a beautifully crafted emerald with its greenness just shining through the night's sky. The necklace was truly a sight to behold.

"Do you like it?" Natsu asked with a smile but Hisui could detect the slight worry in his tone as the jade haired beauty silently walked up to him and hugged him, shocking Natsu with this.

"Thank you Natsu, today truly has been an amazing day. I could never repay you for any of this." Hisui said as Natsu slowly returned the hug as he rested his chin on her head.

"Hey, I promised, didn't I? And I always keep my promises." Natsu said and Hisui smiled.

"You do Natsu, you really do." Hisui said as she closed her eyes and enjoyed the warmth that was being emitted from the Dragon Slayer.

'I really am starting to fall for you, Natsu…' Hisui thought as she continued the embrace with the Dragon Slayer.
