I DO NOT OWN ONE TREE HILL.
"Nathan?" Brooke asked shocked, and put on Lucas' shirt.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Lucas asked, throwing on his jeans.
"Shouldn't I ask you that?" Nathan responded, looking pointedly at Brooke.
Brooke pointed at Lucas. "He asked first. So you answer."
"Well, I came here to tell Lucas how my date with Haley went, your turn."
"Wait," Brooke said putting her hands out. "What do you mean you went on a date with Haley? Nobody tells me anything anymore." Her hands dropped to her side.
Nathan's brows rose and his face showed his astonishment. "Nobody tells you anything? Nobody told me about this!"
"Okay, okay, enough," Lucas said putting his hand to his forehead. "Everybody just calm down."
"Enough? Enough?" Nathan responded heatedly. He opened his mouth to continue when suddenly, Lucas' door opened and Karen walked in.
"What's going on?" Karen asked looking at the two half naked teenagers and Nathan. "I don't know what to ask first. How about, why are you two naked?"
"Well, technically, we're not naked," Brooke said fiddling with her hands and replied, "Okay." When Karen sent her a look.
"Look, Ma–" Lucas started but Nathan cut him off.
"Actually Karen, these two were going to have sex, isn't that right Lucas?" Nathan said in a false cheerful tone. "Isn't it funny how you told me not to hurt your best friend? Well, did you think to extend the courtesy."
"You know, last time I heard sex doesn't hurt people," Lucas threw back, fed up with Nathan's childish antics. Brooke was eighteen and so was he, if he and Brooke decided to have sex then it was their business, no one else's.
"Enough!" Karen yelled and pointed at Nathan. "You should leave before your mother starts worrying," she said and then looked at Lucas. "You and I need to talk."
Lucas scrubbed a hand down his face. So much for his relaxing night.

"What do you mean, sort of?" Jake asked, frowning at her. "It's kind of a you did or didn't type of deal."
"I did," Peyton answered guiltily. "I mean, we had sex and you were going to leave right after, which I didn't really mind but I couldn't let you drive home, and really I wouldn't let you sleep in a bathroom, so I just put you into the first bedroom I found. I didn't know Brooke was in there, I swear."
Jake sighed and shook his head and rubbed the back of his neck while he stood up from the couch and paced. "You didn't tell me this why?"
Shrugging, Peyton looked up at him. "Everybody already believed you slept with Brooke and you guys didn't remember anyway. I didn't wanna screw up my relationship with Lucas," she added quietly.
"Screw up your relationship?" Jake asked throwing his hands in the air. "Because of you my girlfriend of two years broke up with me."
"Well, technically, even if she found out it was with me, she still would have broken up with you. I might have had sex with you but don't try to act like it was one-sided."
"How should I know, I don't remember!"
Peyton sighed and it was silent until she got up and put her sneakers back on.
"Where are you going?" Jake asked. "You can't just tell me something like this and leave."
Peyton stood up straight and angrily said, "Nothing good is going to come from this conversation."
Jake sighed as he watched her pick up her phone and keys. "You should have told me sooner."
"I know," Peyton said walking toward the door.
"This isn't the end of the conversation," Jake told her, warning in his voice.
Opening the door, Peyton, over her shoulder, she said, "It is right now."

"I told you right before she came here, Lucas, I told you I'd rather you not be having sex in my house," Karen said looking at Lucas sitting at the dinner table.
"And we weren't," Lucas told her sitting back with his arms crossed over his bare chest.
Karen glared at Lucas. "I wasn't born yesterday. I may be a lot of things, Lucas, but ignorant isn't one of them."
"I- it wasn't a lie," Lucas said indignantly and continued. "I'm not gonna lie it was going that way, but she stopped us."
"When did you become like this, Lucas?" Karen asked quietly and sat down in the chair across from him. "I like Brooke, don't get me wrong. I think she's a strong girl with a good sense of humor but, she's not the best influence. Ever since you broke up with–"
"Don't start with the Peyton stuff, Ma," Lucas cut her off. "I love Brooke."
Karen sighed and interlaced her hands in front of her in the table. "I'm not trying to dictate your love life, believe me. As long as you're happy, it's good enough for me, but when you were with Peyton you weren't like this."
"I can't explain it to you, Ma. I love Brooke, way more than Peyton. With Brooke it's exciting, ya know?" Lucas asked rhetorically with a small grin on his face. "She's something else and I love it."
Karen looked at him. "Lucas, if you feel this strongly then why didn't you say something? To anybody?"
"She's worried what Peyton will think."
"That's her best friend, Luke, obviously she's not exactly excited to share the news."
Lucas shrugged. "Yeah, can we talk more about this tomorrow?"
Karen nodded and watched as he stood up. "Good night."

Not taking Karen's advice, Nathan had stayed and was in the process of frowning at Brooke. "What the hell were you thinking, Brooke. Peyton is gonna flip."
"No," Brooke said, holding her shoe and pointing it at him since she was in the process of putting them on. "She's not finding out right now."
Nathan's eyebrows rose in surprise. "You want me to lie to her?"
"Not lie," Brooke hedged, putting on her other red wedge. "Just don't volunteer the information."
"I refuse to get caught up in anything," Nathan told her and raised his hands in front of him. "I don't want to get caught up in all this drama."
"Then, don't insert yourself in it." Brooke shrugged into her cami and slipped her jean skirt on over her shoes.
"C'mon, Brooke. You can't honestly tell me you think this is a good idea," Nathan asked her.
Brooke sighed and scratched her head. "I really like him, Nate. Like I care about him more than any other guy I've been with."
Nathan stared at her before Brooke winced. "I mean, I care about you but it's so different. You can't tell me you feel the same way about Haley as you do me?"
Expelling a breath, Nathan crossed his arms. "So am I walking you home or not?"

Walking back into his room, he was upset to find Brooke dressed and standing at the exiting door in his bedroom. "Have some place to be?" he teased lightly.
Brooke shrugged. "Just figured I should go home for the night," she responded clutching her bag of clothes a little tighter. "Listen, Lucas-"
Before she could get any more out Lucas had Brooke in his arms and laying a sweet kiss on her lips. Brooke's lips moved against his and soon their tongues were dancing with each other's before Lucas broke the kiss.
With a lingering kiss on her lips he whispered, "If you wanna go, you can. But I think you should know I make pretty mean pancakes."
Grinning, Brooke shook her head. "I should leave I don't wanna deal with any of that, that early in the morning. Besides, Nathan said he'd walk me home."
Lucas frowned down at her, and brushed her hair away from her face and tucked it behind her ear. "I'd really like it if you'd stay, but if you wanna leave. Call me when you get home and we'll go out tomorrow."
Nodding, Brooke rubbed his cheek with her free hand. "Maybe we can go out and do something tomorrow, after school."
"Definitely."
Brooke chuckled and shrugged before walking to the door. "Sweet dreams, Boyfriend."
