A Valentine's Special

His hair is red

Her eyes are blue

Neither is sweet

Both are true

How would one describe Valentine's Day? In the world wide web, Valentine's Day, also knows as Saint Valentine's Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is a celebration observed on February 14 each year. A Christian Saint named Valentinus said to have performed weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and for ministering to Christians who were persecuted by the Roman empire.

In the legend, he healed the daughter of his jailer and before his execution he wrote her a letter signed "Your Valentine" as a farewell.

That is a small background of what today is.

All around you could see girls stuttering and getting shy over their chocolates. Some boys looked very indifferent but the more they appear to be indifferent, the way I see it, the more they become obvious and affected on whether they'll receive a chocolate at the end of the day or not.

The day was bright and sunny, and although people would have the impression that Valentine's Day is not my day, whoahhhh think again everyone.

Valentine's Day is definitely my day.

"S-sasuke-kun…"

Out of the corner of my eye, I see a pink haired girl handing out a heart shaped box which I bet would be chocolate.

The raven haired guy stared at the girl and shoved the box in his bag, proving he doesn't care whether the chocolate would get dented in any way. And the pink haired girl had a ridiculous look on her face.

Sorry, that was mean of me.

Today is Valentine's Day and I should definitely give love right?

To those who are in a relationship can't wait for the day to end so that they can have their date, and the people who are categorized as single, would either have friendship dates or play a prank to the couple. Especially, the bitter ones? They love to mess up some couple's Valentine's.

People would get annoyed at them but really, don't they amuse you? And they possess lovely humor.

Since it is Valentine's Day, I'll say it

I love those bitter people.

They even renamed Valentine's Day into VITTER DAY!

Aren't you proud of these people?

Oh, I'm not mocking them; in fact one of my friends is a big vitter day celebrant. I've also had joined their pranks before and let me tell you that they are truly brilliant people.

Moving on, to tell you why Valentine's Day is a definitely my day.

3 days earlier…

Mrs. Chiyo is a 40 years old teacher but when I look at her, I see a 50 years old woman. She had a shoulder length curly hair that vaguely reminds us of a squid. I think it has to do with the fact the color of her hair which is an inky black.

"Class, I want you to draw an organizational chart about management. You have exactly one hour to do it." Mrs. Chiyo said. "Management about a hospital or whatever you may want, and I want names on it and what position, you can make up whatever names you want, I just want it specific."

I am not smart. There are many things that I would deny but this is one of the things I would never deny.

I leaned to my side to talk to Daichi.

"Hey, Daichi." I whispered.

"Yes, Rena?" He answered.

"I'm going to the library to research a more intricate organizational chart." I looked at him seriously.

"What?!" He half-whispered. "Are you nuts?! What if you get caught?!"

"You've never told a lie in your life?" I raised an eyebrow.

"Are you saying…" He trailed off

"I'm implying that I would go to the library and research some samples on an organizational chart and if I get caught I could just get away with it." I shrugged.

"No, Rena." He shook his head. "I'm staying here, and knowing you, you're just trying to skip classes."

I pouted.

I may be a rebel, but I'm not a delinquent.

I stood up, grabbing my notebook and pen; I walked out of the classroom, not bothering for permission. Mrs. Chiyo barely pays attention and she has the attention span of dog. It's not an insult when all she focuses on is her tab.

As I had stepped inside the library I had stumbled upon Rento with a stack of papers on his clipboard.

"Hi." I greeted.

Raising an eyebrow, Rento asked, "Are you here to borrow a recipe on how to make a home made chocolate? To save you from the wasting effort of looking I'm telling you that all the recipe books regarding on homemade chocolates had been borrowed."

I laughed. "And who would I give it to?"

"To someone you like, I guess." Rento's lips curled into a smile.

"Ah, there are simply too many people whom I like that I'd be broke if I plan on giving home made chocolates." I shook my head with mock sadness.

"True, besides, I think the president doesn't appreciate girls in their flimsy manner of giving him chocolates on Valentine's Day."

"Why did this conversation took a turn to the president?" I raised an eyebrow.

"I have absolutely no idea." Rento's mouth was kept in a straight line but his eyes were twinkling annoyingly.

After that exchange, I went to the internet section and copied a decent organizational chart. I would have copied another one for Daichi but there wasn't enough time and I'm kind of holding a grudge at him for not coming with me.

Going back to the classroom, Mrs. Chiyo had shouted that we only had 20 minutes left. Hurrying to my desk, I drew the organizational chart and thought up of names. Daichi leaned to me and was impressed with my work that he asked if he could copy my work.

Well, why not? He is my friend after all.

"Okay, you can copy it…" I said.

"I'm sensing there's an if after that sentence." He smirked at the knowledge that he knew me pretty well.

"If you act cute and say please."

"WHAT?!"

Serves you right. After letting him try to act cute which to no avail, I let him borrow it. I just want him to sweat a little. As I stood up and hand my paper to Mrs. Chiyo,

"Please pass the papers at the next room, I'll be waiting there." Our teacher looked at me angrily. She then stood up leaving the room without taking my paper.

Something boiled in me.

I've noticed her behavior towards me in the past weeks, and the way she's acting, it seems like she is angry at me. Always picking on me on class, when the others ask her question, she answers but when I ask her, she ignores me. If she has a problem with me then she has to tell me.

Why can't she be frank with me?!

Tss.

I'm gonna go and confront her later at dismissal.

Red for the emperor

Blue for the rebel

It has been around this day, he didn't particularly hate the coming of this day since February 14th is known as one of the days that peak in the business. There was nothing hateful of the day Valentine's Day, after all Valentinus had risked his life for something petty as to uniting the soldiers who were forbidden to marry in a sacrament of marriage.

Although, Akashi isn't fond of rebellious acts, the Christian had been harmless, if the Roman Empire had been smart, they could have manipulated Valentinus instead of mindless execution. For example, only those soldiers who had served enough for the empire can be rewarded to marrying.

Really though, a soldier marrying will never be a good idea. After all, marrying means a wife, a wife would mean comfort and comfort?

Comfort breeds weakness.

The Roman Empire was indeed right; however, if the situation is too irrevocable to reverse, then tactics had to be used.

The red head made his way to the teacher's faculty when a blonde haired girl blocked his way handing out a heart shaped chocolate.

"Akashi-san… chocolates for valentine's day. I have a photo shoot for 5 days and I won't be able to meet you on the 14th to give you this."

"That is troublesome." He said.

The girl grinned.

"It is troubling for me to carry chocolate so if you wish to give me one, drop it to the student's council room." He instructed blankly.

The girl's smile waivered for a bit.

He wouldn't turn down a chocolate but he wouldn't eat it. After all, receiving chocolates on Valentine's Day proves his influence over the female population.

Turning around he saw that the raven haired blue eyed girl, who declared war against him looked at him and the blonde girl with open amusement, Rena's cheeks were pink, her smile in a grin and her eyes, twinkling in a shine that could rival Kise's hair.

Before he could do anything, the girl had run off leaving him with a twitch on his fingers.

Now…

I didn't confront Mrs. Chiyo, instead I waited for today. I walked towards the stage as I wait for my turn. You see, the council had this event that we can have a valentine's surprise for lovers. Of course with payment, the council will assist the students in serenading, or giving chocolates, balloons, or flowers the whole package.

Everyone had been giving me weird glances, it is traditionally that guys are the ones who spend money on these and they probably think I have a female lover or something.

"Rena?" a voice asked.

"Rento." I acknowledged.

"Why are you here?" He asked, confused.

"I'm giving a Valentine's Day surprise!" I answered cheerfully.

Rento looked at me with suspicion.

"Don't worry; I have an unspoken truce with the president today since…" I trailed off and then grinning my wicked lovely smile "I have a different target today."

"Okay, so who will I be paging to come up to the stage?" Rento asked.

"Mrs. Chiyo." I answered.

"Did I hear it correct that you said Mrs. Chiyo?"

I nodded.

"I don't know what you're planning Rena but it looks like you'll be carrying my expectations." Rento pushed his glasses up.

I gave him my wicked lovely smile.

As Mrs. Chiyo arrived on the stage and the song What Does it Take plays. The students who paid are allowed to choose a song but I told them to play whatever they want.

I woke up, in the middle of the night.

Out of luck with this girl on my mind.

But she got away now, I'm trying to explain how.

I emerge on the stage and give Mrs. Chiyo a box of chocolates, a bouquet of roses and a bundle of balloons.

I fell in love, that's what I like to call it

But not enough, it's like I never saw it

Drifting away now, I'm finding to words to say

But it all goes whoahhh4x

I give Mrs. Chiyo a kiss on the cheek. And she looks shocked and bewildered. It figures, since you'll never expect that the student you hated would spend something so extravagant on valentine's day for you. She looked embarrassed and shy.

Aww, ain't it sweet?

I look at the student and they looked shocked too, they never expected that I, Rena Casellana, would be sweet on Valentine's Day.

"I would like to thank you Mrs. Chiyo for being a wonderful teacher. I remember all the fun moments we exchanged in the classroom, especially when my classmates ask you a question and you answer them but when I ask you a question, you ignore me." I grinned at her happily and she still looked shocked.

"If you have a problem with me, then be frank with me. Do not act like teenage kid having a tantrum, stop taking out your anger on me. Or if you have some personal problems, do not bring it inside the class room, you have a college degree and you are a professional, so ACT LIKE IT!" I'm still smiling that plastic smile.

Gosh, acting plastic really drains your energy.

"You taught us that the two cores of management are open communication and common sense." I told her "APPLY COMMON SENSE: HOW CAN I KNOW WHY YOU'RE ANGRY AT ME IF YOU REFUSE TO COMMUNICATE WITH ME?! You are acting childish and unprofessional."

Mrs. Chiyo looked torn on whether to throw the valentine's gifts that I gave her or keep it.

What does it take to catch you

If never met you

I wouldn't have run across the country like I'm out of my mind.

As I jumped off the stage, I said,

"Happy Valentine' Day Mrs. Chiyo. I love the fact that you just gave me a chance to give you a tip on how to manage a class room."

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOX

What does it take to hold you

When I'm here without you

I don't know where to start

I gotta find you and your heart.

Before it falls apart.

That Rena… as much as she is amusing, it seems like he'll be questioned by some teachers later on because of her little stunt. She really is capable of going against him. Under the pretense of confronting a teacher, she just made a blow to him. No doubt the teachers will confront him of carelessly planned event and will blame the student council president.

The boy with heterochromatic eyes didn't find her right there and right now the least bit amusing.

"President." Rento called out.

"What is it, Rento?" He asked, biting back his anger with the girl.

"The profits today have just surpassed the profits last year. This year's Valentine's event has the biggest profit in the history of the school events." Rento reported.

He stilled.

"We have calculated that only the boys would be spending on this event but a little while earlier…" Rento coughed "Because of a certain student, it seems like they followed her example and by now, almost all the teachers have been summoned to the stage carrying valentine's gifts and we're sold out."

He stared hard at Rento's eyes.

The teachers would soften up with him because of the profit earned in the event.

Rena's influence would no doubt spread like wildfire today.

He felt an odd tingling on his spine.

Rena Casellana just made a new tradition for the Valentine's Day.

Author's Note:

Hi I know you're all tired in reading all of that, but just a few words, bear with me.

Why it's taking so long for me to write the next chapter? Akashi is an excellent tactician and I have to give him justice because he will not lose to Rena.

This is my belated valentine's gift to you all, hope you all like it~! :D

Oh and Rena keeps loving herself more and more.
