Chapter 8
Sakura's POV
I gawked, right before my hand connected with the side of his face. He didnt flinch, but it was truly satisfying. A grin spread across his gorgeous but deadly lips. "I Knew it, its your personality." he purred and sat up a bit, pulling me into his lap I averted my eyes from his own. "Sakura, Blooming with personality. The keeper of my little brother's heart. what would happen to him... if you suddenly disappeared?" he murmured against the skin of my shoulder.
"What?!" i blushed, mostly from anger as his lips trailed up my neck. "I wont let you do that!" his lips stopped and moved to answer my retort. " and how so?" His cockiness pissed me off, tugging hard on his hair, i kneed him in a very sensitive area. as he hunched in pain, my hands dove into his pants pockets to retrieve a small key. Practically flipping off the bed, i opened the door and shut it, fumbling with the key. I heard feet move towards the door as the key slid in. Turning it, i bolted down the hallway. i didn't know where to go, i just needed to go.
A staircase led down to a lower floor. Taking the rail, I slid and landed on my feet. the large door to my right looked oddly like an exit. right as i pushed it open and ran into the darkness, did i realize it was not the outside. I quickly ran back through the door. My keen hearing picked up on a door being kicked in, feet making their way down the hall. I quietly returned to the dark from which i had just came.
"Sakura...it would be wise to show yourself. You are already in so much trouble. You don't want to make it worse." He growled. I quickly held my breath and searched for something to hide in. I touched a drape of some sort, Whatever it was, it had warmth, and I decided to hide underneath the drape in the meantime.
As I opened whatever it was, something grabbed me and pulled me in. A light heart beat sounded in my ear as fear struck my body with adrenalin. "Shhh." I felt a slight tickle against my ear, it felt like hair. I stood in silence, covered by the cape I all too well had figured out.
The door opened to the room and Itatchi flicked the light on. "Gosh man, why do you have to barge into my room at a time like this?" A voice breathed out of the body I was pressed against. "Did you see a wom-something weird just now?" Itatchi asked, his voice told me that his mood was none too happy. "No."the body next to me chuckled lightly. "You sure you have been okay lately tach man?" Itatchi sighed and it seemed as if he shut the door.
The cloak opened to reveal a blond haired man looking down at me. His eyes traced over me as a blush spread over his face. I suddenly remembered that I didn't have a shirt on! "Eep!" I sqealed quietly against his chest, trying to cover myself as he lowered onto something. "Here. Lay down." He walked over to his dresser as I looked at the large bed, half of it was made neatly while the other half looked slept on. He threw a shirt on the bed and winked.
"I don't know who you are, but you have been the only woman to ever want to run away from Itatchi, so I admire that." The man chuckled. "The name's Deidara." He said, sitting on the edge of the bed as I slipped the shirt on. "Sakura.." I murmured. Since your laying in my favorite spot, I guess I'm going to have to hide you under my robe For tonight." Before I had the time to respond he laid next to me and pulled me within the robe adhorning his lean body.
First of all, why was I being pressed to random stranger's bodies? I contemplated it as I examined the man in front of me. "Take a picture, it lasts longer." He chuckles lightly and smirks. "Sorry, just wondering why you are helping me."
"I told you already, you interest me. I might just keep you." He whispers close to my ear and I stick my tongue out. "You don't know how many times I have heard somethinv along those lines." He smiled at my words and pulled me closer. "Good, I love me some competition, yeah?"
Rolling my eyes I decide I'm stuck between a man who wants to kill me and a man who wants to keep me, so I decide I'd just go to sleep. Morning could deal with this. "Goodnight, I'm sleeping." I yawn quietly as He smiles. "Whatever you say then."
Itatchi's POV
What a brave woman. First she knees him, steals his key, and makes him break his own door. He trudged down the hall, his jaw set in place angrily. That woman wanted punishment, he could even taste the revenge.
He opened the door nearest to the stairs first. This room belonged to one of his group members, Deidara. He flickes the light on to see the man standing awkwardly by his bed. Eyeing him curiously he spoke. "Have you seen a wom-" crap, he almost let it go that he had an outsider in the camp. "Something weird just now?" Good. He saved himself.
"No." The man seethed with lies. "You sure you have been okay lately Tach man?" He waa going to kill him. Unfortunately, he didn't feel like wasting his time right now, he needed to get some things done anyway. He was sure Deidara would handle Sakura correctly for him while he was away. He shut the door with a sigh, walking back upstairs to retrieve his things and head out into the night. He had made the mistake of not covering his trail. So that was what he needed to do.
Encasing the camp with a chakra barrier, he began erasing his scent and footprints, takinh delicate time to make sure nothing was traceable.
He was doing great, untill a small dogs scent found is way to his nose. Looking around frantically, he quickly summoned a clone, sending the clone in a completely different location to divert the attacker. He quickly darted from which he came.
Sasuke's POV
Who knew Kakashi Hatake would be his tracker? After all, the man did possess the sharingan. The silver haired man summoned Pakkun, who in turn was given the towel Sakura used to dry herself that morning. "She uses the same Shampoo I wear." He stated as he took off in a direction over the sand. Kakashi followed, Sasuke on his tail, as the other two held up the back. Sasuke was determined to find her, only someone with a vengence towards him would take someone he cared about, And what they would do to her made him fear the worst.
The sand had gotten into his shoes, irritating him only a little. He had to find her, so everything was of minor worry to him. Halfway though towards the land of fire's boarder, Kakashi stopped dead in his tracks. Sasuke halted as the two nin behind him looked curiously at one another. "What is it?" Sasuke asked as he stood next toKakashi. Pakkun had trotted to Kakashi's side, a grim look on his face. "We may have someone waiting on us here at the boarder..." he phrased as Kakashi nodded. "Yes, seems to be a higher level of chakra. May be Akatsuki."
Sasuke stiffened at this. Akatsuki was a group of people who terrorised villages and stole from many wealthy. They had tried to ransack his village, but had left early before they even stepped foot into his castle. "How many are there?" He asked and the pug lifted his head to sniff the air. "Only one."
Sasuke nodded and took off in that direction. " Sasuke wait! There may be traps!" Sasuke paused and looked at Kakashi. " what do you suggest we do?" Sasuke snarled, getting impatient. "We approach, but very carefully, if we just jump into it, chances are we might trigger something. I'm sure Pakkun can sniff out any bombs or traps if we just take our time. You don't want your leg blown off do you?" Kakashi snapped back, sounding cool and calm however.
Sasuke sighed and followed Pakkun and Kakashi's lead. The shinobi behind him quietly followed, not wanting to anger the two sharingan welding ninja. Sasuke watched the ground around him, making sure to spot out anything suspicious.
Pakkun barked out, startling Sasuke, but he made sure not to show it. "The chakra, its smell! Its everywhere!" All of a sudden, a hand flew from the ground, grabbing the weapon weilding shinobi behind them. Sasuke turned in a flash, sending a direct kick to the hand. He watched as the fingers began to shrivel and fall from the limb. The two nin watched in disgust as Sasuke's attention was averted to the front of the team.
Crows, crows everywhere. As soon as everyone's attention was on them, they began to flap their wings, creating a sand storm that assaulted the nin's eyes. Sasuke hurriedly rubbed his eyes, trying to focus as the crows flee off quickly, leaving a figure in the dust in their place.
A black robe, clad in red clowds was the first to come into view. Sasuke noticed this as the very uniform that attacked his village a while back. The akatsuki had their back to them. As the sand settled, they began to turn. Sasuke's eyes grew wide as anger overturned in his stomach.
Itatchi stood, his long black bangs gracing his strong jaw line, his eyes shown with the mangekyou. The night air was not the reason for the shiver that ran down his spine. "Itatchi!" He yelled as the elder brother turned his head slowly towards the voice. "Little brother, what a surprise. You have survived this long?" The elder brother spoke lowly as his eyes turned to the general. "Kakashi, I would have never known. You seem to have gotten weaker lately. To be put to such a mission, it should bring you dishonor and humility."
Kakashi took nothing from this, but not the same could be said for Sasuke. "TRAITOR!" He shouted, he bolted towards his elder, activating his chidori. As soon as Sasuke felt a tinge of pride, his brother had dissapeared, leaving behind crows who had taken the chidori to its fullest. The mangled birds laid in pieces around the impact area and Sasuke looked in horror at what had happened. He turned around quickly, looking for his brother, who had one of his ninja's held down with a kunai to his throat.
"Sasuke, even you will never learn. You are still the little ignorant brother you use to be." Itatchi spoke coldly as he pressed the cold metal of the blade to the medical ninja's throat. Sasuke, absorbed in anger spat. "He is in none of this! Fight me damnit!" Kakashi, unsure of how to handle the situation, quickly pulled his forehead protecter up. His eyes swirled red, causing a small hole to appear behind the elder Uchiha. Before he was sucked in, he turned into a puff of smoke. Sasuke, gaping silently as he stared at the ground where his brother once stood.
"KAKASHI YOU BASTARD!" He griped, turning to the silver headed man. "Sasuke, we need to find sakura." Kakashi calmly stated as Sasuke charged him. "I DONT GIVE A SHIT! THAT WAS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!" Sasuke screamed as he threw his chidori at Kakashi.
The older man caught the prince's arm and quickly back flipped behind him. Sasukes hand met nothing as his anger increased. "This mission Is all of our business, and if something happens during the mission, we have every right to act. Take your anger out on the ones who took Sakura, for they are a far worse enemy than someone looking out for your well being."
Sasuke glared at the silver haired man as the weapon welding shinobi tended to the distraught medic. Sasuke calmed down only a little, focusing on the new found scent of his brother as his eyes flashed red. "Lets find her!" He growled as Pakkun sniffed one of the dead crows on the ground.
"It smells just like the clone, this scent...Its very light, as if he tried to cover it. We may need to avoid taking the direct scent to him. We can trace it from a distance." Sasuke nodded, his jaw clenched as he took off with his group. He focused entirely on the view around him, he made sure that if anything happened, he would be able to handle it.
Karin's POV
She was sitting on her own couch. The shower felt like heaven runned their fingers through her hair. Suigetsu was tending to her, making tea and a light snack. She smiled as she knew she had spent enought tears on Sasuke. She needed to move on.
He carried the tray into the living room, a smile gracing his face. "Here we are." He stated as he set the tray down on the coffee table."thank you." She murmured, picking up a cup and sipping at the rim. He sat next to her and took his own cup, turning to her a little as he sipped.
"Karin, how are you feeling?" He asked curiously as her eyes slowly met his. "Cold..." she murmured out, sipping the tea again. She placed the cup down on the coffee table and pulled her knees closer to get warmer when she was suddenly being pulled to her left.
His arms held her close, as she rested against his chest. Her mind scrambled and her heart racing, she couldn't move. She didn't want to move. She noticed how his heart beat so crazily in his chest and it surprised her that he felt just like her.
Nobody said a word as they cuddled in each other's arms for the rest of the night.
Sakura's POV
I awoke feeling a slight headache, I was surrounded in heat that made me feel far too claustrophobic. I squirmed out of the black fabric that i was curled in and glanced around the room.
A body laid beside me, blond hair poked out from the black fabric as the sound of light snoring filled the air. I giggled softly, wiggling off the bed and creeping towards the door. As soon as I was infront of it, I turned the nob and opened the door slowly. Watching the sleeping man, I had no retaliation to the arm that grabbed me from the hallway.
The little gasp that was stuck in my throat escaped when my eyes locked on chocolate brown eyes. Slowly, my leaf green eyes roamed the man infront of me, I noticed how his silver hair was slicked back neatly, his chest showing and a simple dog chain hung from his neck. His look was sceptic but definitely fitting.
"Who the hell are you?" He roamed my figure, his hand holding both of my wrists as the other held a weapon. When I didn't speak, he let the weapon set against the wall and grabbed my face roughly. Damn him.
"I said W-" he began but I chimed in "who the hell are you...I heard you. I just didn't want or need to answer. So let go." I growled in his strikingly handsome face, that turned sour with my words. "You little!" His lips pursed as his eyes roamed my body again, the loose clothes hung from me carelessly.
"You must be Itatchi's new friend, Or toy. Unfortunately for him, finders keepers does work amongst those who are just working together." he smiled as he took my body and slung me over his shoulder. "Hey! Put me down!" He ignored my commands and trudged down the hallway into a darker, windowless room.
He flung me onto the maroon colored bed and straddled my legs. "Entertain me woman, I've been bored for quite a while." My face turned to annoyance. "Like hell I will." I growled and his face turned from quick anger to amusement. "How cute." His hands ran through my hair and I squeaked.
The door opened to reveal a red headed man that slightly resembled Gaara. The man glanced at me, and back to the silver haired man. "Dibs on next, Hidan." He said as Hidan sneered. "Whatever Sasori." I looked at the men in utter anger, but my attention was averted towards the open door."No, you will return her to me. If anyone has dibs, its the one who got her in the first place." Hidan scowled as Itatchi entered the room and grabbed my arm. "HEY!" I shouted. "I'm not a thing! Nobody has dibs on me!" Itatchi's eyebrow raised. "Oh really?" But before he could say anything else, he tensed up. "Shit!"
"What?" I asked at his random curse as Sasori and Hidan fixed their eyes on him. "You ready to fight?" He turned to the men, who in turn nodded. "Good. Because we have company."
