First off, I would like to apologize. I haven't had a laptop for almost two years since my last short-circuited. I'm continuing from where I left off. If you were a follower before and you remain a follower, you're awesome. Major respect. If you're new to this story, thank you for taking the time to read this. I do take criticism well, as well as suggestions.
I still haven't figured out who will have the forbidden love or which sister will die, so... ;) And now the battle with ShadowClan.

Spoiler: Someone will die.

Mistpaw quickly followed the patrol led by Redstar. Branchfoot,Winterblossom, Russetclaw and Mousetail were also part of this particular patrol that would attack ShadowClan's camp directly. Her nerves were getting the best of her, but she pressed on. Many thoughts passed through her mind: would she forget her battle moves? Would everyone else survive this? Her heart kept beating faster and faster.

Mistpaw looked to her right where her mentor, Branchfoot, kept padding forward. "Calm your nerves, even the mice can hear those things." He joked. She let out a small laugh, but it was loud enough for Mousetail to turn around and glare. She let her eyes focus to the ground and follower where each of her footsteps lead. She was wishing that Beepaw and Dappledrain had come on this battle with them, but at least she knew that they were safe in the heart of camp.

"Stay alert and watch your back. ShadowClan doesn't fight fair and they will kill the young," mewed Redstar, his eyes passing over Mistpaw. "I will go for Poppystar. It's time she realizes that her clan can't just do as they please and need to visualize territory boundaries." Mistpae shuddered as she had never seen her leader with such venom in his voice. She looked up and for the first time, she could smell the stench of ShadowClan and wrinkled her nose in disgust. She could hear voices close by and she looked as Redstar began to slow, "On the count of three we will attack." Her heart kept beating. Beating. "One." Her legs were burning in anticipation. "Two." Mistpaw felt like she was going to throw up. "Three!" Redstar gave a battle cry before he sped through the brush that revealed ShadowClan's camp.

She quickly followed her mentor and within a few seconds she was separated from her mentor and bumped straight into a dark tabby tom. "Oomph!" The tom let out a puff of air and then noticed who had hit him. Shock came into his eyes, but then realization hit him. He leaped for Mistpaw, but she dodged out of his way just in time. "You invaded my home, so I'm going to give you a scar to remember who you messed with." He struck out an unsheathed paw that caught Mistpaw on the shoulder and she let out a cry before she ducked and shot out her two front paws at his front legs, unbalancing him. "Not if I get you first." She was determined to survive.

Shadefrost was on a mission and Dimpaw could only guess who was his victim in this battle: Antbite, the tom that her father had almost killed in the battle skirmish. She shuddered at the thought of her father actually giving a killing blow to the tom this time.

"ShadowClan won't show mercy to anyone, so watch yours and each other's backs. We don't need to carry any bodies back tonight." His black shape was barely visible in the dark and surrounding foliage. Beside her, Stormcloud just stared at her mate, so in love. Dmpaw hoped to someday love someone as much as her mother loved her father, but hopefully the tom she ended up with wasn't as cruel. "Do you think Shadefrost will actually get Antbite this time?" Yellopaw mewed from the other side.

"I honestly hope not, but he se-" she was cut off from a glare from Goldendrop. The she-cat was always on her tail, even when she was supposed to be praised. Dimpaw nodded at Yellowpaw before they both were silenced. FRom where they were, she heard the distant battle cry of Redstar and the hairs on her spine stood up. She hoped that Mistpaw would be okay, but she anticipated the fight that she would soon be joining.

"Get ready because there is no turning back." Shadefrost mewed before he stopped, listened and took off into the night. Dimpaw could hear battling occurring from where the ShadowClan stench came from and she wrinkled her nose. "Attack!" yelled her father.

Immediately, Dimpaw saw her sister fighting a ShadowClan tom and ran to defend her sister. "Get away from her!" She mewed, bowling him over and leaping on top of him with claws out. "This is for touching my sister." Dimpaw raked her claws down the tom's stomach, which left him kicking her off and scurrying away.

"Are you okay?" She asked her sister.

"Fine. Thank you, but you-" Mistpaw's gaze was locked on Redstar and Poppystar circling one another, their eyes locked. "Uh oh."

Redstar was much larger than the tortoiseshell she-cat, but she was standing her ground. "Redstar, how dare you invade us at night! Our queens and kits are frightened right now." The golden tom narrowed his eyes, "How dare I? How dare you for letting your warriors cross into our territory and stealing our prey."

Poppystar gave a hiss before leaping on the tom, claws extended. Before she could do anything, Shadefrost knocked the she-cat off of his leader and bit into her scruff. She began to rake the underside of his belly, before sending him off with a kick. A loud yowl came from Antbite as he decided to finish the boundary skirmish. The two toms repeatedly flipped one another in a flurry of claws and fangs before Antbite landed on top. "Seems as if it's reversed this time." The dark tom mewed before biting into the throat of Shadefrost.

"No!" Dimpaw and Mistpaw screamed at the same time as Redstar and Poppystar both stared in shock. Antbite seemed to realize what had just happened and he leaned down. "Shadefrost?" His muzzle was soaked in blood as the black tom's life ebbed out of him. "S-Storm.." That was the last word that the she-cats would ever hear from their father again.

Both leaders looked around and finally, both began calling out for cats to calm down. Stormcloud slowly walked to her mate's lifeless body. "Shadefrost..." She was in shock and then her eyes went to the dark tom that still loomed over him. "Y-You did this, didn't you? You couldn't just let it go." Acid was in her voice as small tears pooled at the corners of her eyes and finally fell like rain. "Neither of you could." She looked down at the body of her mate. "Your only flaw was that you held grudges." Stormcloud turned to Redstar. "I need fresh air," was all she mewed before darting off into the night.

Yellowpaw sadly looked out at his mentor, "I'm so sorry, Dimpaw and Mistpaw." Both she-cats looked at him and then back at their father. Their leader was calling out who would carry the body back, but the voices were no longer audible. Redstar padded to the younger cats, "I will let you three walk with us back to camp." Dimpaw nodded and followed the golden tom. All she worried about was where Stormcloud had gone.

"Do you think everyone is alright?" Beepaw was asking Dappledrain. The white she-cat wasn't much older than her apprentice, but still held a few moons on her. "Of course. Usually cats only come back with scratches and perhaps a broken claw at the very most."

Reassurance settled within the young she-cat before she heard a rustling coming from the entrance of their clan. Her eyes scanned for Yellowpaw and her sisters, but before them came Branchfoot and Goldendrop carrying the body of Shadefrost. Her heart sank and she felt the tears welling up in her eyes. "No, no, no..." She started to get closer, but Dappledrain held her back. "Give them a few minutes." Even the she-cat's voice was shaky.

Redstar followed in behind Dimpaw, Mistpaw and Yellowpaw and almost ran to his place on the High rock. "Cats of ThunderClan," he began, "In the battle with ShadowClan, we lost our deputy, Shadefrost, to the ShadowClan deputy, Antbite." Sadness could be felt within the camp. "Stormcloud took off to get some fresh air, so I will be sending a patrol to go in search of her to make sure she didn't do anything irrational." Redstar hopped down from his position and walked to where the sisters stood. "You three can lay with his body before the burial if you would like." His gaze sauntered to where his deputy lie and then back to the sisters. "I am so sorry for your loss. He had been saving me."

"It's okay, Redstar, he was doing his duty." Mistpaw mewed in reply. Dimpaw turned to her sister with shock. "Okay? This is not okay."

Dimpaw got up and went to the apprentice's den. Beepaw stared after and then back at Mistpaw. She said nothing, but looked to Yellowpaw, who was kneeled next to her father's body. She slowly padded to the black tom and sat next to him. "He treated you like a son."

Yellowpaw looked up at his closest friend with tear stains on his face, "He spent more time with me than my own father did." It was true; Russetclaws never spent much time with his sons. "I just hope Stormcloud is okay."

Beepaw nodded and then let her tail tip rest on his shoulder, "I'm going to go to the den. I can't see him like this anymore." The orange and black she-cat began walking to where Dimpaw had gone and laid in her nest. She could see the white she-cat's body shuddering and she scooted closer.

"He always wanted me to try harder and I never got to show him how hard I had been trying." Dimpaw quietly mewed. "I'd been perfecting everything. I even learned to keep my claws sheathed. Now, I will never get to show him." Her body shuddered from all the tears.

Beepaw didn't quite know how to comfort her sister as she wasn't all that close with Shadefrost, but she still had affection for him. "He still loved you."

So, after a year and a half, that's what ya'll get :) hopefully you enjoyed that, even though it was brief. Comments, concerns, questions and criticism will be greatly appreciated.

Fun fact: I was originally going to kill off Stormcloud, but now there will be a little bit of vengeance brought into the story c;
