Gemma was more than glad to take Evelyn and mom for the night.I was glad for the night out but the wicked little smile she gave me before she left spoke volumes to me. I don't know what she was expecting to happen tonight but whatever floats her boat. Maybe my knight in leather would be there, we'd fall in love and we'd ride off on his harley into the sunset .I snorted at myself . Been there, tried that, and had a baby out of it. It wasn't going to happen for me. I walked over to my duffle bag full of clothes to find something to wear. As if fate had shone its wonderful light and was giving me a sign, my favorite sexy jeans were right on top. They were light blue and seemed to have some glitter to them. Not to much though, just enough to shimmer in the light. They fit like a dream and made my ass look perfectly squeeze able. I shook my head laughing at myself . I started digging through my bag again and attempted to find something to go with my jeans. After digging for a few minutes, I found nothing. I prayed that by chance I had left something in my dresser. I started pulling out drawer by drawer. I found nothing in the first six. I sighed and plopped down on the floor. I guess fate decided that if the jeans weren't enough to wow someone then I was just hit. I started picking at the threads on the end of my jeans. Something gray caught my eye. I looked up quickly and in the far back of my bottom drawer was a small was of grey. What could that be? I reached into the drawer and it was my soft light grey v-neck shirt. Ironically it was the one I had worn the first time I went for a ride on Jax's bike. We never did actual dates, he was never that kind of guy. We hung out and honestly I think I was a lot happier that way. We got to know each other a lot better hanging out then we ever would have going out to dinners or dances. I shook my head bringing me back to reality. I silently prayed the shirt still fit. I pulled off my tank too and slipped the shirt over my head. The smell of dust filled my nose, along with the faint smell of Jax's cologne. I sighed and allowed myself to breathe in the smell of my past. He always managed to smell so good, and this cologne in particular always made me want to come out of my clothes. No wonder I left this shirt behind, look at what all it stirred up just from trying it on. I quickly snapped out of it and made my way over to the mirror. I know I had put on a few pounds over the years but amazingly it still fit wonderfully. I think I look pretty decent. I did my make up, paying close attention to my eyes. I wasn't a god when it came to make up but I was decent. I brushed my hair and put it up in a high ponytail and teased it a bit. It was going to be a bitch to brush later but it would be worth it. I spritzed my curious perfume on. I blew myself a kiss in the mirror and walked out of the room. I grabbed my keys and out the door I went.

I arrived a little after nine thirty and the party was already in full swing. I stood by the door, scanning the room. At first I wasn't sure Gemma gave me the right directions. It was an icecream shop for crying out loud. The party wasn't much just the guys, the croweaters and some others I didn't know but then again its not like they had the same amount of space as the clubhouse. The music wasn't as loud and I didn't smell pussy or alcohol yet. I wonder what made them decide on an ice cream shop any way. I shook my head, it wasn't my business.I found Opie standing by the stairs talking to Tig. I made my way over to them and when I was noticed, a huge smile spread across Tig's face.

"Well there's a face I never thought I'd see again. You just disappeared for awhile. Come here kid!" I gladly gave him a big hug. He pulled back FM the hug and held me at arms legnth . He looked me up and down appreciatively. A smile spread across his face.

"You've grown so much, look at you! You're over 18 right?" I rolled my eyes and shook my head.

"I was over 18 the last time you seen me and I'm still not sleeping with you." He dropped my arms and shrugged. Opie stood there with a smile on his face.

"Can't a guy just be happy to see you? Whatever," he said with a smile as he walked away and headed towards Happy. I looked around again and I noticed Clay wasn't there. I decided to wait until later to bring it up. I turned towards Opie.

"He's never going to change is he?" Opie shook his head.

"Nope," we stood there for a few minutes and once again I looked around the room. I noticed another club member missing, Piney. Maybe him and Clay were together, I don't know but I would definitely ask later. I looked towards Ope again.

"Where's my hug at giant?" He leaned down and gave me a quick hug.

"So what brings you to my neck of the woods?" He asked as we headed towards the bar, which in all actuality was an ice cream counter with a prospect serving beers. It was a cute little place though with all its booths, definatly one of the last places I had imagined the sons of anarchy in.

"Came to hang out, if that's okay?" He scoffed at me and we took our seats at the counter. A bald guy with prosthetic hands sat a beer down in front of Opie.

"And for you ma'lady?" I was a bit taken back by his politeness. Even though we were in an ice cream shop did he not realize he was surrounded by bikers? Maybe he was a package deal, like they could rent the shop if he came with.

"She'll have a jager bomb, with more monster than jager." The bartender walked to the other end of the counter and Ope leaned over to whisper in my ear. "That's Chuckie , the Chinese cut off his hands because he wouldn't stop playing with himself." And just like that Chuckie was back placing my drink in front of me. He bowed in my direction and all I could do is shake my head laughing.

"Yeah he's something else. So when do I get to see this kid of yours?" I quickly pulled out my phone and proceeded to go through pictures. I showed him the first twenty pictures of her on my phone, her playing with her babydoll , her sitting on the potty, her and my mom chilling in the recliner. He laughed at some of them and aww'd at the rest. I put my phone away.

"She looks a lot like her mom but I see a lot of Jax's features in her." I shrugged my shoulders in response.

"I see a lot of him in her. So how are your kids? How's your pop?" Opie looked away from me quickly. He became really interested in his beer.

"The kids are great, they're so big its surreal. But uh Kandie, pop...he's uh he's gone." My mouth fell open in disbelief.

"Gone like he's no longer apart of the club?" I silently prayed that was the case. He shook his head quickly.

"No gone as in Clay killed him." My hand flew to my mouth. My eyes instantly watered up. Opie waved his hand as if to say none of that.

"Can we talk about something else?" I nodded in agreement.

"Does she act more like you or him?" I shrugged, still stunned by the news of Piney's death.

"You're gonna love her Hope, she's got a smart mouth though." He laughed a deep belly kind of laugh.

"I wonder where she got that from." I shrugged my shoulders with a sly grin. "So do you plan on staying?" I opened my mouth to speak and someone sat down next to me. Chibs came and tapped Opie on the shoulder. Opie stood up and gave me a quick, 'be right back'

"So you must be new here, I don't think I've seen you around here before." I turned towards the chair on the left of me. He was a decent size, either Puerto Rican or Italian, cute smile with tribal tattoos on his head.

"Maybe you weren't looking hard enough," oh my god was I flirting? I am flirting, oh boy. His face lit up like a Christmas tree.

"Trust me, I would have noticed someone as beautiful as you are. Anyone's old lady?" I quickly shook my head. I wasn't sure if it was the alcohol or the flirting but I felt warm all over. Chuckie sat another drink down in front of me, how many was this now?

"Nope, free agent." He scooted his chair a little closer.

"What brings a pretty girl like yourself into this place?" I looked around, then shrugged my shoulders and took a long drink.

"Maybe I wanted some ice cream?" He then shrugged his shoulders and smiled.

"That all?" I nodded.

"I'm no croweater seriously though, I needed a night out and came to see my bestie Opie." It was part of the truth. If I told him Gemma invited me it would lead to a bunch of questions.

"Well remind me to thank him for my luck."

We talked for another half hour. I found out his name was Juice, and he's really good with computers. He's usually pretty quiet and he has two skulls tattooed on his chest that say 'son shine'. I told him I had a daughter and am currently studying to be a nurse. Also that I was in town taking care of my mother, who was nonchalantly trying to talk me into staying. He laughed really low and whispered in my ear, "I hope you stay." His voice gave me the chills, not the bad kind, but the kind that made you really aware of every nerve ending in your body. I turned to look at him and he leaned unlike he was going to kiss me. I wasn't sure if I wanted to kiss Juice or not. He was nice and all but...why am I trying to lie to myself? He wasn't Jax. Fuck it that's my problem, I never give anyone the chance. His lips were inches from mine when he was thrown off of the chair. I seen a blur of black and blue and then I seen blonde.

"Jax?"

"Dude hold up!" Juice was yelling at him. Opie came and pulled him off of Juice. Jax stood up and pushed his hair out of his face and his eyes went straight for me. He pointed his finger at me.

"We need to talk now!" Oh boy.

I watched as he headed towards up the stairs and I released the breath I had been holding in. I have no idea what was up there and I know he had full intentions on me following him. Opie extended his hand to help Juice up.

'Sorry bout that man," Juice stood up and brushed himself off.

"Dude what the hell was that?" Opie turned and looked straight towards me.

"Long story bro," and then he turned towards me, "what were you thinking? You know how he is. You could have gotten Juice killed." I nodded and felt my eyes water up. Him scolding me like I was a child just about did me in. I was a big girl now, not one of his kids. I walked completely around Juice and Ope to walk up the stairs. Tonight was supposed to be a good night. I just wanted to hang out and drink with my bestie a little that's all. The thought of calling Opie bestie to his face brought a smile to mine. I walked up the stairs to find Jax sitting with his head in his hands. He didn't even bother to look up at me.

"Jax?" He looked up at me, his gaze burning holes into me. He stood up slowly.

"What in the hell were you doing with Juice?' I shrugged my shoulders.

"We were just talking he seemed nice. What's the problem?" He laughed a sort of sinister laugh.

"What's the problem? I'll tell you what the goddamn problem is. You're in my clubhouse trying to sleep with one of my guys. How is that not a problem?" By this point were in each other's faces. Matter of fact we're so close I can feel his breath on my face.

"Gemma invited me, and not that I have to explain myself but it was Juice trying to kiss me! Besides what does it matter? You're with Tara!" Before I could say anything else his lips were on mine. His hands flew to my hair and I was pulled into him. I wanted to resist kissing him but I couldn't. It just felt so right. The weirdest thing happened as I laid down on the couch. Gemma's smiling face entered my mind and it hit me. She knew all along this would happen.
