"Welcome to WarioWare Incorporated! How may we sca-ehem-serve you?" A robotic voice asked.
"We need-a to meet with the CEO of WarioWare, Wario himself." Mario replied.
"Contacting Mr. Wario right away!" The voice announced.
"You-a sure he'll let us in Mario? Especially after the last Kart tournament?" Luigi asked.
"He knows-a what's going on. Evidence by the giant force-a field going around Diamond City. There's-a no way he'd not let us in just because of that one time I threw a blue shell before he got into first place." Mario answered.
"I don't know. He seemed-a really mad afterwords. Rumor has it he nearly dumped-a his entire gold reserve." Luigi replied.
"Hmmm, think we need-a to restrict the blue shell a little more?" Mario asked.
"Definitely." Luigi responded almost inmediatley.
After what seemed to be several minutes of waiting, a buzzer went off near the door. The group turned quickly to meet the sight of a camera emerging from the door.
"What do you want Mario?" Wario asked.
"Wario old pal! How's-a business?" Mario nervously asked.
"Oh you know, booming as ever. We recently got a new collection of micro games out. We took some name inspiration from those old Game and Watch devices. Fortunately we didn't get any copyright claims so I didn't have to pay anything."
"You know-a why we are here?" Luigi asked.
"No idea, so seriously. Why'd a bunch of losers like you come to my place during these...times?" Wario questioned.
"We need-a something from you. Something I gave-a you after our 7th Kart tournament." Mario replied.
"You mean the same one I wasn't invited to?!" A new voice raged.
"Is that-a who I think it is?" Luigi asked.
"Yes it is Mr. Eyeballs! Expecting someone else? TOO BAD! Waluigi time!" Waluigi triumphantly announced.
"How many times do I need to remind you NOT to drink the whacka juice?" Wario asked.
The two bickered at one another and every word from insults to occasional crying could be heard.
"HEY BUDDY! DO YOU HAVE THE GOLD STAR OR NOT?!" Daisy yelled.
"The wha- wait- is it- oh-." Wario stumbled.
"Yes, the Gold Star, one of the seven Crystal Stars if I'm not mistaken." Wario responded.
"YES! That's just what we're looking for." Mario exclaimed.
"Come on in and get it. I tried pawning it off on Tbay but for some reason ancient, golden, and powerful stars don't seem very appealing anymore." Wario replied.
The metallic door opened with a loud squeal. The group walked in and noticed a small elevator.
After a long elevator ride up the group walked into a small office area littered with moving packages.
"Hello losers! Welcome to my private office in the WarioWare HQ! Now, what was it that you wanted?" Wario greeted.
"We want the Gold Star bud, right now!" Daisy commanded.
"Yeesh! I hope my girlfriend isn't as bossy as Mr. Eyeballs in the future." Waluigi commented.
"What was that Mr. Nobody?" Daisy asked.
"Must of been a cough..." Waluigi replied.
"Thought so." Daisy replied.
CRASH!
"What-a was that?!" Mario yelled.
"Sounds like it came from my office room!" Wario yelled.
"Let's-a approach this quietly. It might be one of the shadows." Luigi warned.
The group tiptoed to the source of the noise until they got to the door. It was open just enough for all of them to see.
What was inside was not a shadow, but a familiar purple rabbit-like thief Mario and Luigi were all too aquatinted with.
"WHAT-A ARE YOU DOING HERE!" Mario yelled.
The purple rabbit was immediately startled and fell off the desk. His bag fell and opened revealing the Gold Star. Realizing this he immediately got back and up put the star back into his sack.
"Look guy, we need-a that star. Just give it to us and-" Mario was cut short when suddenly the purple rabbit jumped out of an open window on to the rooftops.
"Hey! Get-a back here!" Mario yelled before rushing out the same window.
"Aren't you going to help Mario?" Peach asked Luigi.
"Nope." Luigi responded.
"Something tells me you know who that thing was." Wario commented.
"Want the short-a version or the long-a version?"
"Long." said everyone else in the room.
"You see, before Bowser tried to take-a over the Sprixie Kingdom, he tried-a to replicate his previous plan. He literally did-a the exact same thing twice, the difference being Mario wasn't around. So me and a couple of Toads went-a out to save Princess Peach, only we were helped by that-a purple rabbit, Nabbit. Long story short we saved Peach and blah-blah-blah-blah you know the rest." Luigi told.
"So why not go after him like Mario did?" Daisy asked.
"He's kinda got a thing out for-a Mario. He's-a trying to wear Mario out before coming back-a here." Luigi explained.
Sure enough, Nabbit came back through the window with a tired Mario coming in right after.
"Give...us...back...the...star!" Mario huffed.
"Hey-a bud." Luigi greeted.
Nabbit responded gleefully with his trademark speech. Nabbit then took out his sack and dug around eventually revealing the Gold Star. He then handed it to Luigi. Luigi crouched down and whispered in Nabbit's ear.
"Thanks for that favor." Luigi told him.
"So you're not going to come with us?" Peach asked Wario.
"Nah, fighting evil for moral reasons isn't exactly my style. Though I do hope you get rid of those shadows. Business can't be done when your customers are dead." Wario replied.
Nabbit approached Luigi with a bit of sadness in his eyes.
"So, you're also not-a coming with us either huh." Luigi said.
Nabbit continued to look down. Luigi then patted Nabbit's head.
"Hey don't-a worry about it. I wouldn't want to see my favorite thief taken by those shadows. You go along with Wario and his gang. Me and Mario will get-a these shadows in no time!" Luigi comforted.
Nabbit immediately cheered up and speeded to Wario's ship which was about to take off.
The gang waved goodbye as Bowser's airship landed near them.
